Would that mean Starlord is half-Kree? She got psychic powers (I'm still convinced), does that mean he has them too? Becuse that's a terrifying idea.

He's also too hyped up as some sort of mythic entity. The whole, something ancient and unknown line points toward Quill's father being more along the lines of Thanos.

According to the comics his dad is the emperor of the Spartoi, some sort of alien race closely related to the Shi'ar (one of the big alien empires of the marvel universe, vaguely birdlike humanoids) Of course given the amount of mystery revolving around his parentage, its unlikely to remain that. (Any race big enough to have an empire would be on the nova corps records)

My personal bet would be a Celestial, but there are plenty of mythically powerful alien races in the marvel universe, so at this point its difficult to tell.

My bet for Quill's parentage is Adam Warlock. We know he's in the MCU, he's closely related to the infinity gems, and we know he's now out and about again.

My personal bet for Starlord's dad is Starfox, Thanos' brother. He's a known ladies' man with conquests across the galaxy (especially since one of his powers is mucking about emotions). He's immensely strong, and he's also exactly the type of jackass who would hire mercenaries to pick up one of his kids.

This. I'd love a scene where Quill finally sees his sleazy, womanising dirtbag of a dad and begins to rethink how he's lived his lovelife so as to not end up like him. It also ties nicely with Thanos, what with Starfox being his brother and all.

Yeah I was thinking Starlord is half eternal. Which makes perfect sense (well perfect comic book sense) if his greatest foe is Thanos (who is also an Eternal). Double so if his dad is Thanos's brother; and if Starfox is half of what you describe, that's even a more perfect setup.

Starfox is just his superhero name; his actual name is Eros. But it is a pretty funny joke.

You don't want to spoil how the teaser trailer should have ended!

I enjoy that, scenes of the Avengers just hanging out are fun. I even liked that Cap nudged the hammer, as in the comics it's been established that yeah, Rogers is worthy.

As an aside, is Agents of Shield worth watching? I made it a couple episodes in and realized I wasn't really enjoying anything except that Fury cameo so I stopped.

I personally think that was the wrong way round.
It wasn't that Rogers wasn't worthy it was because Mjolnir thought itself unworthy of being wielded by Steve Rogers...

    I like the headcanon though!

I still want my idea for Cap using it in 2 and Natasha as a twist using it in 3 to be a thing.

Because A. YAY character development and B. Super Spy with Thunder God Powers.

I love the look on Thor's face when Steve lifts the hammer. Anyway unrelated question. Anyone have theories on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's role in the movie. It looks like they side with Ultron for a while in the trailer. I find that odd since Ultron wants to destroy humanity. I wonder what drives them to side with the Avengers later in the film?

Ultron probably frees them from Hydra and they stick with him until he shows his true colours, most likely by attacking Wanda.

That does make sense, especially since in the trailer Quiksilver is seen speed-punching an Ultron drone with Cap falling over in the background.

Let me guess then she flips out and says “no more mutants” and her powers activate and we get the house of M storyline…

Oh wait, I guess her powers wouldn’t activate because there are already no more mutants.
