    Default D20 Modern and Currency

Okay, I'm in the process of making a homebrewed campaign and was hoping to use certain elements of D20 Modern in it, however, I've hit a bit of an obstacle. I don't want to use D20 Modern's Odd and Awkward wealth system. I was wondering if theres any good way to convert the wealth DCs into gold. While I will eventually change the gold into the various currencies of the land, it would make things so much easier to start out with.

    Thanks, in advance.

Ok, given that when you sell something in D20 modern, the sell value is equal to the buy value DC minus 3 and in D&D when you sell something you generally sell it for half of what you pay for it. I ran these numbers and it didn't climb fast enough for me so I tried again so that each time you raised the DC, the price rose by 1.5x. I like this one better.

Ok, the price starts at $1 for a Wealth DC of 1.
I'll give the DC, the dollar ammount my formula gave and an example from D20 modern for that wealth DC.
My formula is basically 1.5 ^ (Wealth DC - 1) or 1.5 raised to the wealth DC minus one.
So, to find the cost of a DC 11 item, you take 1.5 raised to the tenth power or 57 and a bit. Not pretty but it will give you something to start with.

    A fishing hook costs $2?
    $160 for ink?

I guess $10 for a hammer makes sense, but too few items from the middle ages are still sold commonly that comparing them is apples to bananas.
    $10 a pound of soap and $40 a shovel...

Is $20 : 1 gp supposed to be the guide Wizards of the Coast uses or did someone figure that out afterwards?

I believe there actually is a table that lists prices IRL and gives a wealth DC for them. Now just to remember where it is.

EDIT: found it. If you have the core rulebook, check out page 204.

D20 Future has a chart (pg 145) that goes all the way to a Purchase DC of 81. Just in case someone wants to spend
    $90 billion.
