    Default Weapon Focus

    Weapon Focus [General]

Choose one type of weapon. You can also choose unarmed strike or grapple (or ray, if you are a spellcaster) as your weapon for purposes of this feat.
    Prerequisites

Proficiency with selected weapon, base attack bonus +1.

    Benefit

You gain a +1 to your base attack bonus on all attack rolls you make using the selected weapon. This bonus does not count towards base attack bonus for the purpose of gaining new feats or meeting entrance requirements for prestige classes.

    Special

You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

A fighter may select Weapon Focus as one of his fighter bonus feats. He must have Weapon Focus with a weapon to gain the Weapon Specialization.

Good, but not enough. This'll let me get iterative attacks a level earlier, but what happens when I hit BAB 16? I don't care anymore.

He means whatever was meant by the original wording of the Weapon Focus Feat, since this text almost exactly duplicates it.

Yeah, as Fax says, it's interesting, but probably still nt enough to make it a 'good' Feat.

You can bend the rules and let this feat permit someone 5 iterative attacks if their effective BAB ends up being +21... but there's a whole other can o' worms.

You can also power attack a little harder, weapon finesse more, etc. Far better than +1 attack, and with all those fighter bonus feats, don't you need something that's useful for those low levels that works out at higher ones?

And ray means ray, as per the SRD description.

    Why not let the feat scale? Lvls 1-5 +1, 6-10 +2, 10-15 +3, 16-20 +4, and 21-25 +5.

If it doesn't change, I say let characters trade in some proficiencies in other weapons to gain it for free. This works to the advantage of charactes with weapon proficiency: all simple and martial. You could also do this for exotic proficiencies.
