It is a French word. It is pronounced li-uh-tuh-nanh in French.
For the record, it literally means something like place-holder / place-taker. The guy who take the place of someone else (the captain) in his absence.

No worries, let's stick to english or they'll think we're conspiring

So, back on the rails, is Ward going to be a player in the game or is he going to suborn himself to Skyedad?

I think that yes, he will.
Anyway, the writers spent a whole season building him. They could have ditched him at the end of season one, yet they didn't, they brought him back and even spent screen time on his family issues and developing him. I'm pretty sure they have a plan for him and he will have a quite important part in this season.

I think Ward will pretend to follow Skye's father while it's convenient to do so, and then throw both him and Whitehall under the bus (haha get it) as soon as he's reunited with Skye and Ward's promise to Skye is fulfilled. Then he'll go right back to trying to get into her pants.

    True
He may also wrongly believe that being well with his father will help him getting in her pants. Maybe he actually believes Raina's words, "maybe they can be monster together."

I just watched The Things We Bury again, and picked up this bit I'd missed the first time around:

Spoiler: Raiders of the Lost Obelisk
    Show
That first guy that Whitehall murdered by having him touch the obelisk was part of a team who had been searching for it and knew stories about it. There seems to be a Chinese archeological expedition that Whitehall captured. If Skye Mom was part of it, she may well have known many interesting things about the Deviner, and the mysterious city.

Given his psychological and family issues, I think Ward may be planning to kill Skye's father in front of her. Y'know, as a present.

Frighteningly, I think you're spot-on about where Ward's twisted mind is headed. He may even think that they can be monsters together, "for the good guys" maybe even.

    New Shield!:
    Spoiler
    Show
One day we're gonna find out what the deal is with the Konig brothers are. I hope it's something stupidly, amazingly mundane just to **** with us. Like "we legitimately just have that big a family that are all twins and have the same personality".

Lotsa stuff is ****ed up with Skye this episode. I'm worried about her and those visions/dreams she seems to be having. It was also cool seeing her take on someone that went toe to toe with May, and seeing how she was able to handle it. Agent 33 lives to fight another day though!

I wonder what Trip and Mockingbird's got planned though. They're acting suspicious...especially Mockingbird's weird thoughts about how Coulson's not Fury.

Tragic Fitzsimmons drama is tragic and sad. Poor Fitz, poor Simmons, poor Mack, poor everyone. This was a pretty tragic episode for everyone.

So, everyone ready for the season finale?

    Wow, tonight's Episode was crazy!
    Spoiler: The episode
    Show
Firstly, just wow. Second poor Mack I wonder what happened to him though? The red eyes were freaky. What creeped me out most was how Coulson said "That wasn't Mack." Also Skye has to be having the worst day since she found out Ward was Hydra. Hopefully she get superpowers out of this mess though. I mean getting powers in Marvel is like hitting the lottery except better since it increases your survival chances I have a feeling the "diviner is going to set off a Terrigen bomb as to set up more superpowered people in the MCU.

Another great episode, with a good mix of action, plot, and long-delayed emotional conversations.

    Spoiler: Best Line
    Show
Billy: You're gonna need a lanyard.

    Spoiler: Best Expression
    Show
Coulson, being hugged by Skye. The very finest line between silly and straight.

    Spoiler: Second Best Line
    Show
    Bobbi: Don't die out there.

    Hunter (shrugs): It's Canada.

    Spoiler: Raina
    Show
Great to see Raina back…and in such perfect manipulative style. She's a natural fit for Team Evil.

When Ward pulled her off the Bus at the end, she acted as if she'd expected it all along. But HYDRA didn't know about her tracker until she mentioned it to Agent 33, so it doesn't seem as if HYDRA deliberately let Raina be captured first, which I'd started to wonder about.

And yet there was Raina, cool and controlled. She doesn't improvise well, but she does know how to gloat when things go her way. Chalk it up to confidence in her destiny.

    Spoiler: SkyeDaddy's Freak Team
    Show
Raina mentioned that she ran with a crew of "freaks" in Thailand before SkyeDaddy cleaned them up. That sounds like a gang of mutant kids to me. Is this yet another oblique Marvel reference?

Spoiler: S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Most In Need of A Hug
    Show
Poor Jemma, all alone in the cargo hold.

Even with the buildup, it wasn't quite the way I expected that conversation to go…although it did make sense, at least from Fitz's point of view. And they did a nice job of ramping up Fitz's difficulty speaking along with his stress level.

And it was a sweet touch, that Jemma could help him get his thoughts out when Mac was drawing a blank. But in retrospect a little sad.

    Spoiler: The Plot Thickens
    Show
Wait…Mac and Bobbi had some side deal going on with Hartley? And/or Hunter?

Did I miss something, or was this a new plot point?

    Spoiler: Alas, Poor Mac
    Show
    I barely knew him, anyway.

Technically it's too early to write him off, since in his alien-possessed uber-mode he probably survived the fall. But it does seem like Mac himself is already gone.

Seriously…mysterious alien city hidden under Puerto Rico?

I'm guessing at least some of the scenes were on location, since those thunderstorms looked authentic in the background of the exterior fortress shots. I can't think of a Kree-related plot reason why the city should be in Puerto Rico, so I'll go with "mildly exotic yet affordable location shoot." Puerto Rico is probably a lot less expensive than most of the places I'd put a hidden alien city, like Kamchatka or Patagonia.

Coulson, being hugged by Skye. The very finest line between silly and straight.

Poor Jemma, all alone in the cargo hold.

Even with the buildup, it wasn't quite the way I expected that conversation to go…although it did make sense, at least from Fitz's point of view. And they did a nice job of ramping up Fitz's difficulty speaking along with his stress level.

And it was a sweet touch, that Jemma could help him get his thoughts out when Mac was drawing a blank. But in retrospect a little sad.

    Spoiler: The Plot Thickens

Wait…Mac and Bobbi had some side deal going on with Hartley? And/or Hunter?

Did I miss something, or was this a new plot point?

Keep in mind they didn't hide the city in Puerto Rico. They hid the city in "some random human place, who cares where it is as long as it's in a place that is accessible". The HUMANS located Puerto Rico on the city, knowingly or not.
