I just realized I can get one via Horde Encounter, but, not entirely sure how to single them out. There's an ability to tell me abilities, right?

The Trace Ability comes in handy for that. You can also use any ability changing ability, such as Worry Seed, Skill Swap, etc to check out horde encounters abilities.

Hello, i am new to the whole "breeding for IVs" and shiny breeding thing, i was wondering if you have any advice? a guy i met online was nice enough to give me a foreign ditto with perfect IVs and a destiny knot so after a bunch of breeding shenanigans i have a reliable source of riolu eggs that have Blaze Kick, and Sky Uppercut, as well as at least 5 perfect IVs, im still working to get ones with the right nature, do you have any advice for that? also, i would love to trade for an Eevee with Anticipation if possible.

It's much easier to get IVs you want from the RNG, once you have good parents set up, than to get the nature you want from the RNG. You'll just be making yourself crazy until you can guarantee your nature. What I did was hit up the Friend Safari and catch a bunch of Ditto until I had one for each of the stat boosting natures. Then you can give it an Everstone and make sure your chain of parents has the right nature before trying to get IVs.

So it turns out QR codes are tied to the 3DS and not just the game card, which means I can't guarantee myself a Secret Pal. Oh well.

Also, you can now transfer Pokémiles between games registered to the Global Link. Time to buy myself some more PP Ups.

Trace is handy for single encounters but not so much for hordes. I run a male Cute Charmer with Skill Swap for that.

IVs of the Wilds could mess with that, also, since I was using Reuniclus to catch the Pokemon, they were all faster. But I got one.

Breeding Noibats... I have managed to get one that has the right nature and IVs... but the utterly useless Frisk, as opposed to the nearly-useless Inflitrator. Worth getting an ability capsule (if I haven't got enough BPs, I probably will by the time I've wonder traded out the spares...) for or just keep breeding...?

Uh, you're not going to just get it's HA via breeding. Does one of the parents have Telepathy?

Sorry, not clear enough - I know I'm not getting the HA (not that it would be of MUCH more than the other two in single player anyway...) Of the two poor choices, Frisk is pretty much utterly useless (for single player) and inflitrator is the marginally more useful choice (isn't it?) So I was wondering whether I should keep breeding until I get an apprproate 5IV with Inflitrator or see if I can use one of 5IV Frisk ones with an ability capsule. (Or even if they are both so largely useless in single player whether I shoudl just not worry about it at all...?)

If it's single player, I wouldn't bother with an Ability Capsule, unless you intend to use it in the Food Court to kill Protect Spammers.

I'm confused. How do you find items underwater? In RSE there were dark spots or boulders on the seafloor, and you could use the Itemfinder to boot. Now it's just a uniform texture as far as I can tell and the Itemfinder isn't allowed. Are we really supposed to just float around checking every single square of seafloor for Heart Scales and such? That's obnoxious.

Nope, apparently I can't, since it seems the one 5IV I bred that it is not missing Speed and has the right nature it the one once am currently breeding off (which probably explians why everything is coming out Frisk, since she's holding the Everstone.)

Everstone actually only passes on Nature. Ability is always 80% the mother's (or 60% if it's the HA, and either 40% for the normal ability or 20% each for the two normal abilities).

Yeah, that is why she has the Everstone (the other parent is a Japanse Zubat, so faint chance of a shiny, but not with MY relationship with the RNG...!), I was just somehow getting into my head it affected the chnaces of abilit as well.

I really hope the make an announcement about Battle Frontier DLC, we need a real post-game in Gen VI.
