Re: Warhammer 40K Tabletop XXII: I C'Tan Has Cheese?
I'm not saying it's not insane. As I said, it's by and far the strongest book in a long time. But people are acting like 40k as a game is over because 7e Eldar exist. There's going to be ways to play around it, even if they're not optimal or necessarily good for TAC.
I agree, though I personally imagine we'll see similar power levels for other 7e codices to come, after Necrons and this. Until other codices come out and solidify this as the new standard for power, Eldar will be the strongest army in the game, and even someone you face who's bringing a fluffy, non-optimized list they're going to be difficult. But the release doesn't ruin the game for me as it seems to for other people on Dakka and the like. Even with my Daemons I don't feel are scared beyond reason, though that might be optimism.

Try playing CSM, Orks, DA, Sisters or DE vs the new eldar and then come back and tell me just how fun your tablings were.

You know, nobody's actually confirmed that Scatter lasers have the same profile.

They're in the white dwarf that has been leaked to hell and back with multiple pictures and videos. They're the same stat block, but have lost laser lock. They dropped 5 points across most of the eldar codex due to the loss of laser lock as well.

Re: Warhammer 40K Tabletop XXII: I C'Tan Has Cheese?
If warwalkers drop down to 60 points when armed with dual scatter lasers (and i think they will), it is still a less cost efficient option then scatterbikes on what I would argue is a slighty worse platform and a HS slot.
Internal balance is also out the window. 1 per 3 bikes would be fair.

Re: Warhammer 40K Tabletop XXII: I C'Tan Has Cheese?
As Requiezen pointed out, though, we're expecting (hoping?) that CSM, Orks, DA, and DE are all getting bumped up likewise, or at least enough so that these new jetbikes won't auto-table those codices once everyone's updated to the latest edition.
Also, wasn't there a similar kerfuffle over Wraiths a while back?

Re: Warhammer 40K Tabletop XXII: I C'Tan Has Cheese?
Reading this makes me really miserable. I just started an Eldar army to get into the hobby, because I liked their fluff and fighting style and jetbikes, but now I'm freaking out that no one will want to play me in a game, or will just tell me I only won because Eldar are an easy win now.

Re: Warhammer 40K Tabletop XXII: I C'Tan Has Cheese?
Eh. The exactly same thing came up with the last Eldar codex. I still managed to lose most games, though that's probably because I only had one Wave Serpent and didn't like Wraithknights.

I find it more than a coincidence that someone who hasn't been seen in this thread for what, two years? Suddenly decided to pop in to complain.
Do people not realise that the new thread has been up almost 24 hours now?
