manifest anima rule
For 2nd edition, I think I recall reading in the core book that you can manifest your aura by spending just a few motes, if you want to glow for its own sake. I tried to find this recently but have failed.
Can someone tell me what that rule is (if I'm recalling correctly) or, if it's not something one can post, what page in the core rulebook it's on.

Re: manifest anima rule
It's in the section of the traits chapter about Essence, IIRC.
You can glow brightly enough to read by for a scene by spending a mote.It is inevitable, of course, that persons of epicurean refinement will in the course of eternity engage in dealings with those of... unsavory character. Record well any transactions made, and repay all favors promptly.. (Thanks to Gnomish Wanderer for the Toreador avatar! )

Re: manifest anima rule
Check page 90 of the core book for the relevant bit for solars...
ANIMA EFFECTS
All castes of Solar Exalted can channel Essence directly
through their animas to generate magical effects. Every Solar
Exalted can use her caste’s anima power without special
training.
In addition, any Solar Exalt can spend a single mote of
Essence to:
• Cause her caste mark to glow brightly for a scene (as if
the character has spent 4–7 motes of Peripheral Essence).
• Cause her anima to glow brightly enough to read
by for a scene (as if the character had spent 8–10 motes of
Peripheral Essence).
• Know the precise time of day for the rest of the scene.

Re: manifest anima rule
Thank you. That was the section I was looking for.
I was hoping there was a way to spend 3 motes or so to fully manifest your aura, but unfortunately it seems there is not. Still, good to know.

Re: manifest anima rule
It's a common houserule to say "flare your anima to any desired level of display for 1m" instead of limiting it to specific levels, as per the alchemicals version on page 96 of the alchemicals MoEP. As is often the case, the alchemicals include a lot of general minor tweaks that are good sense and should really apply to all exalts without asking...
