The problem with evil Paladins as player characters is they will kill the party sooner or later. By default ,in Pathfinder at least, an Antipaladin has to be Chaotic Evil, but even if you house rule any evil, just the simple fact of being evil makes one a threat to the party.
You cannot kill that which is already Ded

Lawful evil is much more managable than chaotic anything. Never put yourself in a position where your death would advance his cause, and youll be fine.

    1. Paladins don't have to be stupid.
    2. The 3.5 UA has paladin variant classes for CG, the paladin of freedom; CE, the paladin of slaughter; and NE, as Gnorman mentioned, the paladin of tyrany.
    3. Paladin variants (or "paladinoids") can easily be brewed for any alignment.
    4. Even with a given alighment, a new paladinoid could always be brewed for a particular deity, which would really add some nice variety to a game. In fact, I'll bet some such exist in the many Suplimental Tomes of Profit, and the deep, dark archives of homebrews.

It's a PRC, but at the simplest there is the blackguard, which can benefit from being a fallen paladin.

You just have to be evil- it doesn't specify lawful or chaotic.
