Maph'tey quirks an eyebrow at the ghost.

"Honestly? I have no idea. I haven't tried to figure out where he came from at all. Just wrapped him up and stuck him in here."

The dvati accidentally break some random vase and get ushered out by a few faeries.

You didn't know then? Shame I can't kill you from here. Not knowing that would annoy you, wouldn't it.

Ah. Well, maybe I can... Destro quickly turns to face the ghost. STOP KNOWING THINGS LIKE THAT!

What, you mean about you? I can't. The ghost, for some reason, seems more lawful evil when he's not killing things. It could be because he's not killing things.

And why not?

Because Destro, I am you.

Revenant eyes the ghost, amused.

"I suppose it's 'imprison your murderer twin that used to be you' week at the Station. Good to know."

He then drifts into some eerie semblance of sleep.

"Shut up, Ruin."

Destro crosses his arms and eyes the ghost in a displeased way. Not angry yet, but getting there. You are clearly not me, because I am here, quite self aware, thanks.

But I am you. Or what you could have been, had you strayed from your path. The fact that you are the same now as you were then means only that you are far too wedged into a routine.

So you're saying I can't change then? Not sure I appreciate that.

You can change, as evidenced by me. But then you went right back to the way you were before.

I'm going to kill you, you know, if you don't get to the point.

The ghost smiles. "You can't kill something that's already dead," it quips.

"You can destroy it, though," Maph'tey points out. He leaves things short for more yummy plot exposition.

I'd be back. The ghost glares at Maph'tey. Not because he interrupted, the ghost is just generally disagreeable towards lawmen.

Not if it was me you wouldn't.

Because you're Necromancy. I know.

You haven't explained how you're me yet. Destro points out, sounding just a little exasperated.

Fine. I am a fragment of your being. I am a realization of all the potential for evil you had made manifest. I imagine I'd be significantly more powerful if I had broken off later, but that just wasn't feasible.

So you went on a killing spree looking like me in order to get back at me for not being evil enough?

No, I did that because I wanted to. The ghost laughs. And if I wanted to, it means that deep down, you wanted to as well.

"What's with all these evil incarnations of people running around?" Maph'tey asks, sounding rather exacerbated. "There's the dark version of Iames," he ticks off one finger. "And that undead version of me who's apparently a demi-god of jackassery," he ticks off another. "And this guy, who is apparently everything bad you never did. I honestly have to wonder if the number of villains in Town would drop significantly if everyone just took some anger management classes."

[Uberblah]

I have nothing to do with anger. I have to do with enjoying death. Now you, Destro, you feared death. I did not and, as you can see, death has made me stronger. The ghost goes off on a villainous monologue about how inevitable Destro's defeat is. Destro glares at him and turns towards Maph'tey.

Somehow I don't think it would matter. If he's all the evil I never did, wouldn't there be more of him if I had held more back? And then there are the villains who aren't evil incarnations of people. The ones that are outside influences, and have come here with a purpose.

Maph'tey had met Vael, or whatever his name had been changed to, but he really didn't seem too fearsome at the time. Certainly not the god-killer he had turned into.

"Well... there was that wizard who used fecal matter. And... no... State is just the evil side of Namesake... Eh... I'm pretty much at a loss. I can't say I've run across too many evil people who just came here to be evil. Except the old Necromancy."

Maph'tey pauses for a moment.

"He's still on my desk, by the way," he points at the pink rock. "Great at holding down important documents."

[Destro_Yersul]

You never met the Masters, did you? The things they could do... It took two gods, at least three powerful warrior types and a good number of mages to take them out. And there were only five of them... Destro looks as though he didn't like the Masters very much at all. Of course, that could be because the ghost is still rambling in the background.

"Nope. I can't say I've even heard of them," the Traveler responds apologetically. "Though due to the simple fact I haven't heard the story before I think that makes it worth telling."

[Destro_Yersul]

Well, the Masters were apparently creatures of pure law. They escaped from some other world, where they had been stuck for a good long time, and came to town. Upon discovering it and the chaos it represented they decided it needed balancing and, in order to do this, they would have to destroy it. A wraith, dedicated to balance itself, agreed that the chaos should be reduced but not ended. The result was a very, very annoying man popping around Town at random generally pissing people off. Called everyone who used magic and wasn't him a "warper". At this point the ghost interjects with a few choice words regarding Destro's parents. One of Destro's eyes twitches. Not. Another. Word.

The Traveler decides that Destro's family must be something of a sore subject by his rather negative reaction to their mention. He decides that it would b wise not to pester him about them.

"Sounds like a jerk. How did everyone get ri... oh. Right. Gods and warriors and mages and stuff. I'm guessing it was an epic battle?"

[Destro_Yersul]

Very. His eventual defeat involved antimagic fields and walls of force, much like you have on the cells here. Bastard kept going even after that though. Had to blast him with every doom spell I had memorized, as well as most of the ones everyone else had, before he went down for good.

Yeah, you didn't like that did you? You're no man, Destro. You're still a little momma's boy!

Destro turns around very slowly, red light blazing in his eyes. That's it. Maph'tey! Our friend here has the right to a fair trial, doesn't he? The way he says "friend" leaves no doubt as to what his feelings are on the matter.

[Rebonack]

Maph'tey blinks at the sudden outburst. He hadn't ever seen Destro upset before.

Creepy.

"Eerr... yes..."

[Destro_Yersul]

Good. Destro crosses the distance between Maph'tey's desk and the cell in which the ghost is in in as few strides as it could possibly take. How fair would you call trial by combat? Yes sir, Destro is pissed.

"I..." Maph'tey pauses, thinking for a moment. "Well... he's you isn't he? I don't think there's a law against beating up aspects of yourself that you don't like. But I would have to ask before I let you thrash you evil side."

[Destro_Yersul]

Then ask. And do it quickly, if you don't mind. Destro jabs his finger at the ghost. That's right, you <expletive> , I'm calling you on that. Now why don't you face me?

The ghost simply smiles behind the bars, like he wanted this to happen all along.

A rift opens up and disgorges sRizzen into an empty cell. There after Maph'tey begins working on his report.

"Destro, you've been given the go ahead to thrash your evil fragment to your unbeating heart's content."

Some odd shadow-being has been attacking Trog's on and off for the past several months. I personally witnessed several murders committed by him, but I wasn't on the force at the time so no reports were filed.

Tonight he entered Trog's and began threatening and intimidating the tavern occupants. When asked to stop he eventually admitted to his earlier crimes and attacked Aerin when she attempted to restrain him.

Just because his player feels like taking the anti-magic thing a little to seriously, sRizzen's very existance is suppressed the moment he enters the cell.

Good. Allow me. Destro flicks the cell door, which opens. Unless of course something makes it not open... Assuming it does, however, he grabs the ghost and drags him out of the cell by the pauldron of his ghostly armour. You and me, we're going to have some fun. Then Destro laughs and heaves the ghost through a portal. A portal showing a landscape surprisingly familiar to anyone who has visited Destro's demiplane...

Rathe exits deadtime.

Well I think I'll be a bit more selective in my hoarding.

Rathe takes many of the items out of his desk and puts them in his pack.

*pop* Rathe has teleported.

(A few minutes later)

*pop* Rathe appears in the station

Rathe puts a mirror of mental prowess on the wall next to his desk

Rathe steps into the station a new person but doesn't seem to have changed on the outside. He looks to see that his custom desk is gone as is his other stuff. I thought as much, looks like I'll have to work my way back up... at least I gained something in exchange though... I think I'll test it out.

Rathe exits the station.

Atokad and Rye come out of dead time. Rye is still asleep in Atok's lap. Atok looks around a bit. After awhile they leave for Trog's.
