Hallways

Grant is leading Linda down the hallway towards Tobias's quarters. Once he sets himself outside he gives the door several sharp knocks.

He's around here somewhere.

Linda nods and looks around. A few tentative sniffs only confuse her, because she certainly doesn't smell anyone Vulpan besides herself.

Outside Tobias' Room

Grant nods and crosses his arms.

Like I said, Tobias is the king of the Vulpan around here. They look human so try not to give him the bug eye look?

He asks, dryly.

Hmm... what does Linda smell? Woodsmoke first, the pleasant aroma of burning cedar. The odors of grass and dirt are probably distinct enough to stand out from the recycled air of the rest of the base. The musky smell of that tiger over there, no, it's not behind the "striped longhouse", yes, they really do make tigers that big. She certainly doesn't smell any Vulpans she's familiar with, but the man placing metal rods on top of his campfire isn't exactly like any of the humans she's familiar with either.

Grant swings open Tobias' door open and steps in.

The short version here is that Linda here is Vulpan military from another timeline that got stuck here. She wanted me to see if I could get her properly adjusted to the Nexus Vulpans. Provided you wouldn't have her on board naturally. She's pretty capable, I had half a mind to recruit her myself.
