The kind with plenty of forgeries filed away, and missing much of the original paperwork. Remember, I used to work payroll before i got transferred under IZ42 and then forged my way into the janitorial position. I must say, much access to random bits of paperwork in this job.

Replaces: Deceive Item
Benefit: A warlock using this variant may summon a familiar, as the Sorcerer class feature, except that the warlock does not require any materials to perform the summoning ritual, and suffers no penalty if the familiar is lost or dismissed. (He does not lose experience, and he need not wait a year and a day to summon a new familiar.) His functional level for the familiar is equal to his warlock caster level. The warlock can share invocations with his familiar as if they were spells.

Furthermore, the warlock gains Planar Familiar (see Planar Handbook) as a bonus feat. Add coure eladrins (see Book of Exalted Deeds) to the list of familiars available to the Warlock; they require a caster level of 7 and an alignment of Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, True Neutral, or Neutral Good.

I know it's bad form to double post, but under the circumstances...

I need to give the Blue Mage a full read through some day, I do love the concept even if I hate the execution in every FF game I've played. My knowledge of you is limited to mostly what I've seen in your Sig and the True Warrior, but figured something was better than nothing and you had some neat stuff to play around with hybridizing.

Blue Thief (Rogue Archetype)

Levels: Varied (loses at 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 15th, 16th, and 18th gains 2nd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 14th, 16th, 18th, and 20th).

Loses: Evasion, Trapsense, and the 10th and 16th level Special Abilities.

Gains:

Minor Lancet (Su): At 2nd level you gain the Lancet ability as a Blue Mage except that you use your Rogue level to determine range and it deals 1d6 damage regardless of Rogue level (but may benefit from Sneak Attack).

Blue Magic: Beginning at 2nd level a Blue Thief can use Blue Magic as a Blue Mage using their Rogue level for their Blue Mage level except that they gain only 1 Ability Known and 1 Ability Readied. At 6th level, and every 4th level thereafter (10th, 14th, 18th) they gain an additional Ability Known and Ability Readied. At 8th level, 16th level, and 20th level a Blue Thief gains an additional Ability Readied but no new Ability Known; giving them 8 Abilities Readied and 5 Abilities Known at 20th level.

I'm looking at a +45 easy at level 20 without class feature shenanigans. With a little research, I could probably get it up to a +70 with little trouble. This is absolutely amazing

And the Blue Rogue ACF looks like fun. I may try that one of these days.

I noticed that. I just don't like rogues. Hahaha.

In BCEMI I played a Cleric (loved it), Fighter (twas ok, but needed magic), Elf (loved it), Magic-User (didn't do much because dying but MAGIC!), and dwarf (twas ok, but needed magic). And built a never used Halfling (I thought it was a cool idea to play a Chaotic - read Evil since BCEMI only had 3 alignments - hobbit because it was so different). Never once built/played a Thief. Wasn't till 3.x that I would play one just because they had nothing to do in combat, even clerics sans casting were better fighters than thieves.

But I like guile heroes and a Rogue is that. Plus they're my gf's favorite class archetype (Rogue, Scout, etc) so I feel like I should make some.

Unfortunately the only idea I have right now is a sublime barbarian and I realized it wouldn't work for PF barbarian because of the shift to Rages.

It's not like a Bard can't already get crazy numbers, or just dip Marshal for Motivate Charisma. I also have some Knowledge obsession which makes me over value Bardic Knowledge (and then there's Bardic Knack which is just so fun).

Makes me remember I hated 3.0 bard, but love 3.5 bard (Splat Support plus at some point I figured out I could make one which was a war skald and could out melee the party badly built Duskblade).
