"If its just a mad construct, our weapons should be sufficient. Just try to stay flexible." Kazu tells him as he begins to move down the passage.

Nodding grimly, the Tiefling flourishes his katana and leads the way through the tunnels at a steady jog. Just before the party would reach the Golem's chamber he holds out a hand to pause them, before casting a spell with simple utilitarian gestures and muttered words.

Mist spews forth from his left hand and swiftly forms into a series of doubled images of the Magus. The images mimic his movements perfectly and soon even his companions are largely uncertain as to which one is the original.

The small squadron of Magi turn to Kazu and say with one voice Lets see if I cant gain its attention before you leap in and finish it off, cuts down on the chance of someone getting walloped before we even run into any Duargar.

On that note the Magus dashes around the corridor ready to unleash hell on the out-of-control construct.

Vindira snorts. "What an interesting picture you paint of that tavern. Greycoat's story is a bit different. Nirallus, do you know anything about the name Greycoat? She's from Sarkoris, daughter of a man influential enough that Grommiskalt had some interest in him."

Unleashing an animalistic battlecry that doubles as the activation word for one of his movement spells Voren propels himself up close to the hulking construct. Honing Sunders edge to an impossible thinness he sends the katana slicing among the Golems inner workings in a flurry of deft strikes.

Kazu hits the golem on his first attack, then misses on the return stroke. Meanwhile, Voren lands three glancing blows on it.

The creature, finally recognizing that it's under attack, lashes out at both of you. Grinding clockwork gears emerge from its arms to grab and tear at you as it swings.

We just left Thun-canus....his permission, I suspect, will not come cheap.

We can lead you to the entrance, but I don't think those of us who have already dealt with him, should do so a second time. He prizes his attention, it won't be cheap.

With his sword arm caught in the gears of the golem, Kazu lets out a furious roar as his muscles bulge. A sudden looks of hatred is seen in his eyes as his fanged maw clamps down on the golem.

"That sounds like a plan. If you want to visit Thun-Canas, you will need a sacrifice of magic or blood to get through her gate. A lesser magic item or a small amount of blood will do. She seems as reasonable as anyone around here, though I wonder what she plans to do with that enormous blood golem of hers. She disguised herself to us as a small child, chained as though a slave, when we entered her house. She hates sentimentality, I've heard."

"An enormous blood golem, right around the time the Linnorm is awakening? I can make a guess. Thank you for the information." With that, she stands up from the table and walks over to Greycoat. "Can you lead me to Thun-Canas?"

Based on our entry to Nithveil, it's likely that I won't know I've found a way out until I am already out, and I don't want to leave anyone behind again.

Vindira gives Currial a steady look. "Your offer is well-intentioned, but misplaced. She was rather... put-out when all of you showed up, and we still have matters that need to be discussed privately."

Caught out by the golems surprising speed, Voren is momentarily helpless when the construct picks him out from the swarm of images and is held suspended by a powerful clockwork arm.

This was not good, not good at all.

Calling up his arcane reserves the magus calls up another burst of unearthly speed, wripping himself from the mettalic grasp. Sunder lashes out once more to add insult to injury before the Magus pulls himself into an on guard position, assessing the foe with newfound respect. So much for husbanding our resources, this beast going to take some effort to go down.

I autopass all concentration checks so getting the spell off to break the grapple shouldnt be a problem. Improved Spell Recall means I play 1 Arcane Point to retake Bladed Dash.

Vindira nods her thanks to Currial. "I would recommend you start making your way out. Considering the manner in which we arrived, it's likely we will all need to find our own separate means of egress."

"You're probably right. In that case, we'll start looking for our own way out. Good luck." With that, Nira got up and gave his gear a quick once-over in preparation to leave.
