Dancing Fox In XII: Dance If You Want To

[Recaiden]

"How'dya know my name? [profanity], were you my seeker in a past life or something?"

Winds peers curiously at the bartender.

"I need you to go get a bunch of kids to hate their father."

[Deathkeeper]

"No, I'm part faerie. That doesn't sound heroic at all, Winds." says Mist, crossing his arms.

[Recaiden]

"It's to save their lives and the world."
Winds puts a hand on his hip.

"Would I lead you astray?"

[Deathkeeper]

"I would need a much more detailed explanation.
And I don't know, you might. You have the sort of mysterious name that someone might be using just to be extra mysterious. Like that guy in Endless Waltz." he says with a nod.

[Recaiden]

"It's the only name I got, Prince."
Winds shakes his head.
"Well, there-they're-their father is a pretty bad piece of work. Working with one a my brothers, planning to kill his family. But if the family falls apart first, he gets snapped up, and my bro wanders off for a while."

[Deathkeeper]

Mist shakes his head.
"I didn't get any of that. More importantly, you don't just stick a knife between this guy's ribs right now why?" he asks.

[Recaiden]

"If he just dies, It might not be too long before someone else is in his place. But if he fails..."
"Nah, you've gotta good point. I'mma go kill him myself. Get over this 'cryptic guy in the corner of a tavern routine is probubbly for the best."

Winds checks three different pockets before coming up with a handful of really old cloth currency which he lays on the bar.

"Whish me luck."

[Deathkeeper]

"Well, I mean, don't get reckless. That's not the sort of thing you do casually. Besides, you should wait until he's not near the kids. Gotta make sure you don't stick that image in their heads forever. Otherwise, uh, yeah, do what you do, man." he says with a shrug.

[Recaiden]

"Don't worry. I'm all ways careful."

And Winds rises and stumbles off to the door out.

[Deathkeeper]

Mist sighs and steps forward, putting a hand on Winds' shoulder.
"Winds, you're a little drunk. You're going to wait at least three hours before trying anything, right? Because you know the number one rule of that sort of business is to not do it when alcohol is involved."

[Recaiden]

"Ah, when have you killed anybody? But yeah, it's not time yet."

He brushes Mist off and head towards the door.

[Deathkeeper]

Mist is sitting around, juggling his phone a bit, considering calling Leah. She's always so busy but...it's Thanksmas. He probably should...

[Recaiden]

The ringing of sleigh-bells announces someone coming by, and soon it's landed, there are footfalls, the door open.

"Mist! Come on! We're going to the Thanksmas party!"
"Did I do it right?"

[Deathkeeper]

Mist jumps up over the bar and over to Leah.
"Oh, yes, definitely Leah! Oh, what should I wear? Should I be fancy?" he asks, looking down at his clothes.

[Recaiden]

Well, Leah is wearing a fancy upper garment of shadows and starlight and too many buttons. And sunglasses, of course. She's grinning at his reaction.

"Something out of the ordinary, at least. You have time to get ready."

[Deathkeeper]

Mist turns around a few times, waving his hands a bit as he attempts to get an idea in his head, then blurs as his Mask changes shape, into a deep, deep black suit the color of the space between stars and moonlight. With a bowtie, which he pulls at awkwardly.
"Yes? No?" he asks hesitantly. "Thought I'd work off yours."

[Recaiden]

Leah nods, smirking.
"Yes."
She goes to brush Mist's hand away from his bowtie.
"It's cute."

Then she looks about, as if curious about something that just went by.
"Come on, let's go!"

[Deathkeeper]

Mist looks around too.
"Did you do something with your voice there? Nevermind. Sure, let's go." he says, after quickly grabbing his wallet and key from under the bar.

[Recaiden]

"Father is playing tricks. We killed a god together the other day. She's been weird ever since."
Leah takes a hand of Mists's and leads him out to get in the sleigh, waving to the reindeer-parents.

"On up to Skyside, guys."

[Deathkeeper]

Mist walks out to the sleigh, and stops dead.
"Hi honey! You look so spiffy!" says Mrs. Anders, waving a hoof.
"Wait, is this the job you told me you got last month? You hired my parents?" Mist asks, turning to Leah, not accusingly at all, just surprised.

[Recaiden]

Leah stops and waits for Mist to be done staring, nods, forcing her smile to stay in place.
"They were the best candidates for the job that I was able to find. And I felt a bit, well, bad about what had happened. You didn't see how mad you were."
"Didn't I tell you already?"

[Deathkeeper]

"Well, I wasn't mad at you. But...thanks. It didn't come up just yet. I...thanks, Leah." he says, snuggling next to Leah in the sleigh.

[Recaiden]

"You're, you're welcome."

Leah indicates to her drivers that they can take off, and puts an arm around Mist.
As they fly, she'll fill him in on her recent adventures.

[Recaiden]

Here's some people! One of them is an aggressively generic human woman. The most notable thing about her is that there's nothing notable about her. The other is almost as generic, but he appears to have a short fluffy tail. They take a seat near the door and set to conversing in whispered draconic.

[Deathkeeper]

Mist comes over to the generic lady and the generic bunny-tailed guy.
"Welcome to the Dancing Fox Inn! Can I get you folks something?" he offers graciously.

[Recaiden]

The tailed guy asks for "You still have that iced blood stuff?"
"Hot lemonade!" asks the generic one.

[Deathkeeper]

"Iced blood? Like, the real stuff? The blood substitute? Or is that the name of a drink?" Mist asks, though the lemonade is committed to memory.

[Recaiden]

The guy gives Mist a weird look.
"The real stuff, of course."
He looks at the generic one and frowns.
"I can't do anything good about that. Anyway, it's been-" back to draconic.

[Deathkeeper]

"We don't carry real blood here, sir. Issues with a previous owner, and subsequent issues. Can I offer you something else instead?" Mist offers simply. Some sort of bunny-tailed vampire?

[Recaiden]

The guy who has a tail that's not a rabbit tail, necessarily, blinks in surprise. Keeps blinking.
"Subsequent issues? Umm, no, nothing else."
