Order of the Stick Trivia: Millennium Edition (Quiz Part XVI)
Beloved,
Counting down with the rest of you to big 1000, I went ahead and started reading again from #1, relishing the journey as always. And coming across so many things I didn't remember reminded me of days gone by when there was a thriving Trivia thread -- just the ticket for sending us back into the archives hunting interesting details and subtle hints as we await the five nailbiters to come...
This is an refresh on a longstanding Quiz thread. Quiz originally started by Hilbert, rules originally drafted by Forbiddenwar, and extended by various contributors. Here is a link to Part XV.
Rules
1) The first player to answer a question correctly, asks the next one.
2) If that player doesn't have a question immediately in mind, then state "Open Question" ("OQ") and let someone else ask.
3) Questions have to have an answer that is demonstrated by at least one, and no more than three, canon online strip. (No bonus material either online or in the books)
4) No counting questions with more than 3 parts. For example: how many times has Roy said "the".
5) If the answer given is not the answer expected, but still technically answers the question, allow it. You can rephrase and ask your question again later.
6) There's a difference between rephrasing - finding a different, more precise way to word the question so it has a smaller number of possible answers - and just simply rewriting to rule out the last answer. Over and over again. Don't do the latter.
7) If an answer is given that in no way is correct, then players can call attention to the fact. At that point, there may be 2 questions occurring at the same time. The 1st question that was incorrectly answered is the valid question. The second question may be answered, but for no prize (aka asking the next question).
8) If your response is ninja'd, that is if someone beats you with the correct answer, please edit your post stating, "ninja'd, please answer above question".
9) After 24 hours without an answer, please provide a hint. After an additional 24 hours pass, please provide the answer and take pride that you have stumped us all.
10) Recognize that this is a game. It is supposed to be quick and fun. If a question seems to go beyond the rules, assume that the author is not familiar with the rules, and point them out. If the author affirms that the question is allowable within the rules, then continue with the game. If the question turns out to be not allowable, it becomes an open question. Groan and move on.
11) Questions along the lines of "when was the first time X happened/was mentioned" are not allowed because to prove that they never happened before, one would have to link to every strip before it, which is unreasonable and would break the no-more-than-three-strips rule.Last edited by Bluepaw; 2015-08-01 at 05:31 PM.

The Belkster loves V, and he loves Elanicalicus.
((Wait... Do I post a question in case I'm correct, or do I post one if I'm told I'm correct...?))
In case it's the former: Find me a baseball mascot in OOTS!

At least now I can get back to enjoying my glass of elven wine in peace and quiet, without being called on to intervene in someone else's problems.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia: Millennium Edition
Mr. Met is among Grubwiggler's golems.
While Malack's snakelike nature was never explicitly explained, there is one direct mention of yuan-ti in OOTS. Where was it?

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia: Millennium Edition
The yuan-ti are the pikemen.
However, it is a year out of date. Although it might be nice to link to it in the OP, just for the continuity.
New Question: Find a mimosa or two.Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! Even all the witty self referencing sigs are gone now!

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia: Millennium Edition (Quiz Part XVI)
Not to get too deep into cladistic biology, but given Malack's snakiness, might he not be considered lizardfolk?
Now these guys, on the other hand...
Nevertheless -- onwards with the five-popping question! At least now I can get back to enjoying my glass of elven wine in peace and quiet, without being called on to intervene in someone else's problems.

Four horses and a doggie.
New question: Find me a wing-back chair.
Hint: I can just imagine the owner of this wing-back chair, sat in it, wearing a fetching orange and purple t-shirt and shorts combo with some kick-ass shades.Last edited by Euclidodese; 2015-08-03 at 07:08 AM.

Guess I'll take the open question again.
Yeah, I forgot to word that to rule out Malack.
In the meantime, though: we've seen plenty of elves with strange hair colors, but can you find a human with purple hair? (Vaguely lavender hair like the Top-Knotted Azurite Resistance Leader doesn't count; we're talking bright purple hair here).

How about the dead paladin in panel 4? He was alive back in 447, but partially obscured by his (also still alive) fellow paladins.
If so, find me a mention of a disease caused by Vitamin D deficiency.Last edited by Mordae; 2015-08-03 at 01:33 PM.
