Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
The Pokemon winced from the combined forces of the two attacks, but it quickly slithered up next to Arlo and quickly connects a glowing green net of energy with the Sandshrew, attempting to suck out its life force.
SpoilerEelektrike Disengages to J11 and uses Giga Drain on Arlo.

"Thistle, bite'em quick!" the used ordered as he hoped over the table in front of him, narrowly avoiding the foodstuff laid on it.
The porcupine for it's part wasted little time following orders; flanking the eel once more as it lunged at it from behind with bared teeth.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
After its spectacular failure to land a hit and rejuvenate itself, the Eelektrike fell to the two Pokemon. It seemed like numbers really did make a difference in battle, making this challenge much easier than if you had gone at it alone. From behind the doors at the end of the hall, you heard the sound of what seemed like metal or tough rock violently scraping against stone.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
As you made your way past the doors, you saw a hulking purple monster, a Nidoking. At its feet the marbled floor was laid bare as it had mercilessly sharpened its claws in the stone. The doors to the throne room were down the hallway, and at the end stairs led up to the second floor. At the top, you saw Teller, much more muscular in this context, with a huge longbow in his hands, arrow to string. It seemed you were out of range however, as Teller merely commanded. King, use Chip Away.
Your attention was dragged back forcefully to the Nidoking as it let out a great roar and charged down the hallway and brought his claws down on Arlo, ripping through his defenses with his claws.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
"Oh crap!" Adam swore wide-eyed at the sudden beast that greeted them, one far swifter than something it's size had any right to be.
"Put some distance, and whip'em Thistle!" Adam ordered as he backpeddled to a more defensible position, briefly looking around to see if there was anything in the nearby table worth tossing at the behemoth.
Thistle for it's part followed it's Trainer's example; stepping away from the monster, confident in Arlo's ability to hold it's attention, before lashing out at the nidoking with all it's strength.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
As you retreat into the kitchen, you notice a large ornamental cast iron bowl that looked like it could be pretty good for throwing (effectively an Iron Ball).
The magnitude attack cracked some flagstones and sent ripples through the walls, but it didn't have to power to knock anything over. However, it seemed that this AI was fully interactable, meaning, if you wanted to, you could tear the whole place down.
The Nidoking roars in pain at Thistle's whip and looked as if he were about to chase after the Pokemon, but Teller quickly called him back. Retreating sullenly, the Nidoking returned to stand near the door to the throne room. Teller remained where he was, poised with his longbow, ready to strike.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
Adam breathed a sigh of relief when the Nidoking stopped his pursuit; they might've been able to take it down, but it would've cost them. Given there where atleast two-to-three more mon unaccounted for, it was a cost they couldn't afford to pay.
"Not if Teller has any other surprises like Him lying around," Adam agreed as he turned his eyes critically towards the wall as well, "Given how tall Teller is? I'd spit ball'em at 'round one-and-a-half or two meters," he answered after mulling over it briefly, roughly gesturing with his hands the rough elevation he thought the second floor was at.
"Thinking of taking a page from Arlo's playbook?" the lad prompted as he played with the iron bowl in his hands; testing it's balance and grip.

Dominic is surprised by the lack of advancing nidoking and decides to take a breather. "Deadshot, start pumping yourself up. We gotta be ready if it comes for us again." He takes a deep breath, his head already putting another plan together. "Ok... you said Duke knows Roar right? New plan. Me and Deadshot are gonna get pumped up, boost his damage potential. After we're ready, I need you to run duke into the hall and hit that beast with Roar. He should be close enough to Teller that when he retreats, he should jump back into his pokeball... Assuming Teller has one for him... He could just be some sort of free roamer like the eelektrik was..." Dominic hmms as in the background the cacnea swells slightly. "We should be able to take Teller after that. Deadshot is strong, even before getting pumped up... If we move fast enough we can knock him out before he can let King out again."

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
"Honestly it would've been better if he had," he said as he leaned against the table "If we had we could've kited him in here; the Nidoking is strong, but not exceptionally mobile. It would've taken a while, but we probably would've been able to take him down,"
"The plan's a pretty big gamble, an we're assuming a lot here. Though the alternative is to take pot shots of at the Nidoking at a distance. We've got ranged attacks so we could just do a few hit and rounds; get a few solid attacks in by the time he manages to reach the door. Then if he comes in we can use the bigger space to kite'em since he sure as hell ain't faster than us," the boy offered thoughtfully, "Also, Duke knows Helping Hand too; so he could charge up Arlo or deadshots attacks if it comes own to it,

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
"Bait, though actual bait probably won't work. Teller's got'em on a tight leash so he'; probably only come out to play if we give him a good excuse. Either by going near the hall, or by attacking Teller," Adam replied, "'Course we run the risk of getting pinned if things go south. Pretty sure we should be able to take out either one if we're fast enough though,"
"I mean, I could always throw Deadshot down the hall; put'em close enough that Teller won't be able to shoot at him, and too far from King to help straight off. Though we still don't know what might be waiting for us on the second floor," the boy mused aloud, trying to see if he could catch any inkling of the missing pokemon.
Spoiler
Perception check to see if I can hear or find some clue about where the Nidoking might be? It's a pretty big and temperamental heavy mon; so it seems possible. (3d6+2)[14]
Also, you might want to add Teller back to the map now that we have eyes on him again.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
Adam eyed the small cactus disbelievingly. Outside of the reptiles, grass types tended to be on the lighter end when it came to weight. The idea Deadshot's weight could be so disproportional seemed more than a bit farfetch'd but he'd take the boy's word for it. WHich of were down course meant they were down another plan.
"Then we only really have two choices: Go out and face'em head on, alogn with whatever they've been prepping; or bust down the wall, and try our luck against the nidoking and hope Teller hasn't prepared too well for that," Adam returned, starting to grow rather frustrated with the problem. It wasn't like they could just stand here all day after all.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
While the quake didn't break the wall down, several cracks began to run up it. A massive roar broke out from the other side of the wall, and you heard a loud slamming sound as the Nidoking threw itself against the wall, sending more cracks up the stonework. It seemed in pain though, meaning your assault had largely been successful.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
Any indignation Adam may have had at the sudden unanounced change of plans died with the Nidoking's pained scream. The young man shot Dominic a look of equal parts disbelief and excitement before barking out an order.
"Duke, give Arlo a hand!" The lad ordered, the pup closed approached Arlo in turn before empowering the armadillo in a flash of blue lightning.

Dominic's grin spreads a little, showing perhaps, to Adam, the first hints of a manic personality. "Arlo, again! Bring the wall down and show Teller that we can win even if he doesn't play fair!" The vibration from the sandslash would roar out against the ground as though it personally offended it.

Re: The Hayle Region (IC)
With Duke's encouragement, the Sandslash brought the walls down as it sent ripples of power through the floor. Thankfully it managed to dodge most of the debris, but the Nidoking was less lucky. It's large body was motionless underneath the pile of rubble, and you noticed the distinct signs that a Poison Type had been hit hard by a Ground Type Attack.
Through the settling dust, you could see the throne room, complete with a large golden throne. A long red carpet ran up to it, although portions of it were ripped to shreds from where the Nidoking had been honing its claws in preparation for battle.Last edited by CosmicOccurence; 2016-05-08 at 01:24 PM.
