Is there something about Annie that is reducing Jeanne's hatred enough so she's willing to talk first? Or does she want to kill Annie... slow?

    I guess we'll find out.
There's definitely a suggestion that Jeanne may have been holding back. IIRC, Parley was convinced that Jeanne could've killed them in an instant had she really wanted to.

Judas Priest! Annie's going down there etherically to retrieve the Arrow? A device that messes up the Ether?? I hope that's not like walking into a glowing nuclear reactor to shut it down manually. O_O

I also hope Mr. Green Elf is not still alive down there.

    That's a deep river...

Well. Let's see. Annie's hair and clothes are being swept back, showing the green energy being released is still pretty powerful. Her expression is growing increasingly shocked, but she hasn't turned around and shot back towards the surface screaming in horror, so whatever she's seeing hasn't overcome her courage. Yet. The tension is growing and I expect Friday we'll see what's down there and our socks will be blown off. And then we'll have the weekend to run around screaming in reaction.

    Looking forward to it!

Is Annie just gonna try and yank the arrow out? That will surely fail and might easily kill her.

So it looks like the arrow preserved neither life nor body of Mr Elf. Unless it prevented erosion of the skeleton, of course.

My suspicion is that the arrow targeted Green Guy's heart to capture the love between the two lovers and entangle Jeanne's soul with that somehow.

That's more depressing and pitiable than scary. Well, except for Annie reaching for the Arrow in the last panel. Bare Etheric handed, she's going to grab it? She could just guide a noose of rope from the surface over it, then she and Kat pull it up, but grabbing it? This may not go well.

(Shouldn't the Arrow be sticking up out of Mr. Green Elf's back at an angle? Steadman shot him from above, but not from directly above, unless he was really close to the shore. This looks odd.)

The artwork made it look as if the arrow was going steeply downward. He was well away from the shore, but the cliffs were so high it was still very much of a downward angle. We've seen several times that the chasm is incredibly deep.

Yeah, I've got a bad feeling about this, but to be fair, the most dangerous part of the arrow is just the pointy bit, not the whole thing, so I can see why she wouldn't think twice about just grabbing it.

Well, Steadman had to grab onto something in order to shoot it, so it can't be entirely dangerous. Then again, he may have had etheric-proof gloves...

This will end in tears. I'm guessing Annie will grab the arrow on Wednesday, and the illusion will shatter on Friday.

Work it, Blue! For pity's sake, WORK IT!!

I'm wondering if Annie's already grabbed the Arrow and that's what triggered Jeanne's reality check, or if she hasn't yet and the illusion is breaking down naturally. If the latter, then actually taking the Arrow might finish the job.

Cat did something too: she contained the arrow's aura with her instruments.

OK, she hasn't COMPLETELY twigged that she's in an illusion, but she's aware something's not right and is struggling against it. Is Blue introducing an enemy into the scenario to give Jeanne something to focus on and be distracted by? If so, who? This isn't Diego, or Sir Young; maybe it's a generic figure Blue is throwing in. GET MOVING, KAT AND ANNIE!! You're running out of time.

And I like that she called Parley 'George' so naturally.

    This is going well.

Let's see. On the left I see what look like finger bones, a twisted pair of legs, and a ribbed something I can't identify. On the right is what looks like a scalpel. And Annie's sudden apparent acceleration and being pulled somewhere calls to mind Zimmy's zooming up Tony's fingerbone spear to give him a message from his little girl, mate.

I suspect Annie is going down the rabbit hole. And is going to wind up somewhere she didn't expect.

    Things are going as usual.

    Han Solo: "That bad, huh?"

Let's see. What appears to be an Elf / water elemental has just grabbed a human / fire elemental with apparent homicidal intent. I wonder what will happen next...

Also, I wonder at the background. Where ARE they???

    Temper, temper, Annie.

(Is she FLYING??? Can she do that?)

And where ARE they? I can't tell if we're seeing a distorted view of the chasm or if we've moved somewhere really weird...

Can Annie fly in the ether? Yes, of course she can. Not only can apparently everyone fly in the ether, she's a fire elemental, and fire is well known for going up.

I believe Annie can fly in general. Not super high, but I believe she was flying in a Torn Sea (the chapter on the boat).

I could be blending her in reality to her in the ether though.

    New Comic.

Annie. Annie, Annie, Annie. When you put your mind to it, you are made of fire. So what if you're trapped in a maze? Blast your way out!

Yes, you are correct. I guess I was confused because normally when she's flying in the Ether she's just floating or moving so normally you forget she's not standing on something. But here she was doing a Superman like "Whoosh!" and speedlines. She's not merely flying, she's FLYING!!
