If the eye is in the line, Thor, otherwise Odin.

Although Sunna doesn't sound bad either, I just can't hate a god that says "nuke it from orbit".
According to the version 3.0 Deities and Demigods book his clerics wear patches over their intact left eyes. Removing an eye to emulate Odin is viewed as shameful, but losing one's left eye in battle is seen as a mark of favor from Odin.

Being entirely serious, Heimdall. Going with the fun answer, Fenrir. I just loved his reason for his vote.

I'd go for Bragi but sadly he wasn't in the voting room.
With the given choice? I'd probably go with Njord. I'm interested in seeing what's the new coastline is all about :)

I'm curious about that too. I was thinking maybe lots of undersea caves where a mermaid civilisation can floursh or something like that.

I study, and like, economics, so I would worship Freyr. With Odin or Frigg if Freyr was not possible.

I will also say that I was a bit disappointed Bragi and Idun did not make the list. Bragi would obviously be god of music, while Idun might be god of youth/aging.

Okay now a total of seven gods are in third place with three votes each.

Sünna. Because excessive force is fun, slaying undead parasites like vampires is most certainly a good thing, and the sun is one of my favourite celestial objects.

What makes you think he would consider this a fit topic of discussion. For the health of the thread I'd like to keep the Giant out of it, and anything related to that question.

On a happier note I have been wondeing what to do if we get a partial list of demi-gods. I propose running two separate polls: the current one for gods and a new one for demi-gods. But because these are demi-gods you can split your vote into two demi-votes if you wish. Also we may never get a complete list so you can write in any divine or semi-divine figure from Norse mythology. If at some point we got evidence that a certain figure was not a demi-god votes for them would be declared invalid. You can change yor votes at any time.

I see the original question as a corollary to the inferred "if you lived in the OotS world," which would mean we're free and clear of real-world religion issues. After all, we're not discussing Norse gods; we're discussing Northern Pantheon gods, as they exist in the comic.

My interpretation may not be shared by mods, of course.

That I do agree with, since I think the most likely reason he would jump in would be to disagree with my interpretation.

On that basis we can already begin compiling a list! (I'm actually a little surprised a thread for this hasn't already started, but I guess it would immediately be derailed by Banjo/Giggles/SSGoW claims)

Bragi and Idun have already been mentioned as missing from the current list of Norse gods.

Jormungandr? Surtur? Ymir? (Easy to see why Hel would get the advantage!)

I want to wait for some hard information. Partly so it is about OOTS and not Norse mythology, and partly to see a resolution of the speculation over non-Norse demigods. If you want to vote for demi-gods now, fine, but I won't compile a list until the comic gives us a decent amount of hard data.

Anyway are you going to select a major god?

It's between Odin and Freyja for me.

Odin because of knowledge and magic, Freyja because I love cats.

I guess if worshipping Odin meant I'd get a raven familiar, or would have to lose an eye, I'd go with Freyja, because I'd want a cat familiar or animal companion - preferably a big one. A tiger like Veldrina's would be nice.

I guess I'll vote officially for Freyja in the poll, because she seems to need the votes more than Odin. If it were possible to worship more than one of them without messing up my afterlife or losing clerical powers, I'd probably revere both of them, and also pay respects to Thor, since after a few drinks, I start getting a bit more like him, in my own mind, at least.
