Something I was just thinking about: Sif was the Norse fertility goddess, especially associated with grains. But her golden hair was the result of Loki cutting off her hair, then being forced by Thor to make her a new weave. I don't recall if she was a brunette before the makeover or not.

The only other goddess that Thor knocked up was Jarnsaxa, who was a Wave Maiden and 1/9th the mother of Heimdall. She helped him with some trouble with dwarves, and he got her kicked out of the Wave Maiden club then left her with a pair of his brats.

The Marvel version of Heimdall is epic, and I assume the Heimdall of myth is similarly so. The OOTS version of Heimdall, on the other hand, looks like an unflattering cross between Marvin the Martian and a really bad cosplay outfit with dopey eyewear. I can't take him seriously at all.

Which is a shame, because most gods (and frankly, most characters introduced over the last few books) look great. Heimdall is the only one I can think of who looks absurd. I dunno why.

Feral typed druids are my favorite character types, right next to Beast Shape oriented fighting types. Fenrir seems the god that embodies Nature, red in tooth and claw.

Yeah, you're a bit behind. There's the 5 original books, then there's The Heroes of Olympus, which while having some of the same characters also brings in some new ones and looks at Roman influence as well, and then there's the new one.
