    Default Saga droid character.

Okay, so in about a month my current starwars saga game is ending and a new one is beginning that takes place 20 years later. I will most likely be playing my current character's protocol droid that we have all been joking must be independent due to some character quirks that persist through wipes.

Basically the questions I have are about how some things are intended. Droids with the help of use computer and mechanics can retrain... everything? Is that true? I assume you can't (for example) retrain power attack if you have cleave (unless you also retrain cleave)? What about class prereqs? I kinda want to play a melee assassin, making sniper less than great. Could I retrain that so long as I don't intend to take more levels of assassin after that?

Independent droid has a talent that lets you trade trained skills for skill focus. Can you reprogram them back or have you then changed that skill into a feat? What's more, (though I do not intend to do this) could you then retrain that feat into a non-skill-focus feat?

Finally, any more things that a lot of people miss that they should know about playing a droid?

You can't retrain if you have another feature that requires it, no.
I think you also can't retrain your staring feats from your class (but the book isn't that clear in that case).

I would say yes to the training back and no to turning them into any other feats.

Droids have access to SR 15 (broken at low levels, but you are quite fragile without it at high/very high levels), flying locomotion and loads of other cool stuff, but they lack a con score (and therfore have lower point buy and often less HP).
Oh and if you have acces to a tech specialist or perhaps even the superior version they can uppgrade your str,dex or int!

Yeah I figured that retraining prereqs would not be allowed. That said, I am right in thinking pretty much everything is retrainable, even talents?

Oh, and while I hadn't thought about it I'd almost think retraining starting feats to some extent would make sense (within reason.) I have pistol proficiency? Change my programming so that is rifle proficiency. I can see how it would be a slipperly slope when somebody tried to grab power attack because they don't plan on using pistols or something like that though.

I hadn't thought about tech specialist and how they can buff droids. Thanks.
