    • As word of the Ravager's actions, and the distressing size of his war band, reaches the Clan House, the High Fortifier calls for the Clan armorers and weaponsmiths to expand their efforts to include the crafting of wargear for their human subjects/allies and put out a call for volunteers to see to the defense of their realm. A great many people, primarily from the threatened northern reaches of the province, answer the call to arms and are formed into the 1st Aladarian Legion under the command of Attican Varius, an outspoken proponent of restoring the long fallen Aladarian Hegemony.
    • Acting on the discussions held with the representatives of Hortis at the Grand Masquerade, the Clans delay work on their city to focus on expanding the best navigable pass through the mountains between their nations to increase the flow of trade. High quality steel mined and refined by the smiths of the Wandering Clans now flows freely through the Blackspire Pass.
    • Several diplomatic missions are sent to the newly explored north, each led by a High Architect empowered to negotiate on behalf of the Clans and bring these regions into the fold.
    • Emissaries are sent to newly contacted Aardrosil, warning of the presence of powerful raiders to their east.
    • Upon receiving the missive from the Spring Court, the Master Architect orders the construction of a new Clan wagon for the sole use of the Aeldir dignitary, that she may travel freely through the lands currently under the guidance of the Wandering Clan. Architect Farama of the Windsong family, the premier crafters of story and song among the drimma, offers to act as guide and liaison to the Clan, to facilitate the exchange of cultural knowledge.

    The Island Nation of Melrakki-ey
    Current Chief- Zin'Aii Refr

    Spoiler: Actions
    Show
    Actions:

[Diplomacy] Having had their explorers run out of a newfound nation to the north, Zak'Aii sends envoys, from his own tribe of Refr, to try and reason with the nation living there. He believes they can find a common ground to build a good relationship; much like his tribe had accomplished, in history, to bring together all the tribes of Melrakki-ey. The envoy are there, attempting to persuade that nation to join the Melrakki in their quest for a prosperous and peaceful existence. They bring with them many finely crafted weapons, knowing that the nation there already has a military, in hopes to show how joining them can be beneficial. They also bring some lovely trinkets and other goods they believe the nation's leaders will enjoy. Fabricate claim for region 238 (roll)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

[Diplomacy] Explores also found another nation attached to their main island, and Zak'Aii, wanting to embrace the others on his island, also sends diplomats there. The diplomats bring with them a demonstration of their use of Jarnvior, as well as special trinkets and clothing unique to the different tribes of Melrakki-ey, symbolizing that even though they all live together, they did not have to give up their different ways of life. Those diplomats also speak with the leaders of that nation about how joining them will aid financially, as well, since the Melrakki are working on a large-scale trading port, which will, in theory, benefit all nations within that area of the world. With this, Zak'Aii hopes the nation will be more than happy to join them. Colonization of region 239 (roll)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

[Military] During numerous meetings with the heads of the other tribes of Melrakki-ey, Zak'Aii has determined that the eventual creation of trade routes will not be successful without some form of protection. With this, he begins the creation of a navy, using ships constructed with Jarnvior. 1 Naval Unit.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

[Military] With the assumed threat coming from an island where a fleet of merchants were lost, Zak'Aii continues his new philosophy of a powerful navy, using ships constructed with Jarnvior. Though, he still hopes no battles need to be fought, his purpose is believing a decent size navy will be a good enough deterrent. 1 Naval Unit.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

[Diplomacy] Work continues on the major trading hub being built in the bay known as Magi. (The Magi Natural Harbor Trading Post) [2/5] (Region 240)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Spoiler: News
    Show
Zak'aii has heard form his envoys that diplomats from Anceris have been spotted attempting to please the same nations as they are. With this news, Zak'Aii sends an ambassador, his own son and future heir, Zen'Aii Refr, to The Grand Principality of Anceris in order to meet with Grand Princess Alessandra de Altan, or one of her diplomats, to state the Melrakki's peaceful intentions of claiming the island chain Melrakki-ey is part of. Zen'Aii informs them that the great port his nation is working on will no doubt aid all within the area, including Anceris, in a prosperous and profitable manner. Citing the protection of trade routes, a safe port for multiple nations to use, and the neutrality Melrakki will hold, as to not cause any disputes between nations using their port.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

The Melrakki people, though somewhat skeptical of more military might being commissioned, commend their leader in the overall peaceful intentions they believe the navy will serve. Many able Melrakki men, of various tribes, backgrounds, and professions, enlist and train to become part of history, joining the nations forming navy.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Zak'Aii Refr, and other head tribal leaders, are pleased to meet with an envoy from Fantastigoria. They receive wonderful gifts of symbolizing Fantastigoria's understanding of their customs and values. Zak'Aii publicly applauds the efforts of Maestro della Aeternum.

    High Tirk Rabhid

    Spoiler

The boiling Fiid sun shone, rendering the inside of the command tent hot and breathless. Tirk and Kur stood over a map, with counters on it representing friendly and enemy forces. Although muffled by the tent, faint chanting could be heard from Nine Candle Doctrine ascetics accompanying the army. This was a mission of conversion as well as conquest.
"Silk? Silk and salt? That's it?"
"Alas, that seems so, my lord."
"Ah, I'm sure we can make use of it."
"Look on the bright side. It's damnable hard to make a sword out of silk."

The rumours of blood-drinking Fiid are true, to a degree. Officers of the law and wandering magistrates have discovered that an imported narcotic is being smuggled in vats of animal blood (used by Fiid to make black pudding and sausage). Addicts will drink the blood to get the drug.
Tirk Rabhid is, as of yet, still unmarried. His many cousins jostle to become his heir.
Mham Drahid's soldiers have not found anything. The trail is cold.

     Luska

    [Region #9]
    Turn 1; Years 102-104
    Chesuka of Luska (18-20)

    Wing Gambit! Chesuka's Decision
The ambition among young undine of Seagull and Otter and Squid clans has become the chance for Chesuka. With the contact of many lands and leaders, it is necessary for the formation of a real political policy.
By maneuvering her friends in different clans, Chesuka prepares her move.
By relying again on Alysha, now Chesuka prepares to raise her friend Mevo into an undine position in the Seagull clan. However, the Weasel clan members are getting restless now that Aeldir propaganda has been delivered. In fact, Chesuka's story doesn't align with this message, and so it becomes a political intrigue. Chesuka moves to destroy these rumors while relying on her friends to support her dream.

Fortunately, the arrival of a ship from Fantastigoria with gifts of a resplendent and highly elaborate silk ceremonial gown and vale for a Priestess of the Pale Lady, as well as a dozen masterfully crafted raccoon dog masks, in a variety of styles and expressions, is received. Chesuka adores the gift and the fabulous foreign silk cloth, and it becomes the envy of young women from every clan. The masks are popular and become used in a first theatre play by Seagull bards, called "The journey of sunrise."

    The Journey of Sunrise
This hopeless romantic comedy focuses on sexual tension of a raccoon dog priestess, otter undine, and the swashbuckler seagull who travel together to a distant island across the misty sea. The portrayal of heroic seagull character to rescue the priestess and undine from murderous raven feather goblins, however to be unable to spurn their affections in gondola. It was thought to be [hack] reference the journey of Chesuka and Alysha with a fictional character to the island of Aeldir.
Although the play is standard of seagull style, it becomes very popular with young sailors and undines, and desire for many different clan masks increases.

Spoiler: A Story of Delyth, the Spring Court Aeldir, and La Duksae Lanatae, Arch Secretary to the Fine Details of Illusiocrasy
    Show
Delyth was becoming used to these events. She was finding them amusing, and ever so helpful in learning about Fantastigoria. The masks that people wore ranged from fierce to positively adorable; it was simply a lovely country, and she was so pleased to be representing Lady Spring here.

Although… there were a few annoyances. She was never truly alone. Even when she went out on balconies to catch some air, there was always someone nearby. She was… escorted to and from events, and had been told it was for her safety, and to ensure that she did not get lost. It was sweet, if frustrating, to be over protected like this. She was never really able to explore the city like she had been able to in Glaw Novo. She felt a bit like a bird, within a cage.

A masked bird, at that. Part of the culture here was that everyone was wearing a mask. Always. She had thought, at first, that it had been some grand joke being played on her when this was explained, but the humor was lost when it turned out to be true. Still, the mask she wore – a simple white mask, covering half of her face; a gift from Lady Spring – was not only cute, but easy to wear. She had quickly conformed and adapted to that aspect of Fantastogria culture.

If it were not for the near constant planning of her schedule by her hosts, and the lack of freedom to see the sights on her own, she would have no issues at all. Delyth could see why Lady Spring fancied this place, and the sparse messages that she and Lady Kellianth exchanged were an ever increasing excitement. Though she did wonder why those of Fantastigoria had requested to see their correspondence. It was odd. As she had nothing but good things to say about the Illusiocrasy, however, and Lady Spring talked rarely about anything of importance in her responses, Delyth didn’t mind sharing. It made for many pleasant conversations, in fact.

Which was good, as Delyth was often at parties where conversations were a big part of the entertainment. Delyth appreciated the intricacies of a skilled Fantastigorian Conversationalist, and was continually surprised to find just how many people in this country were able to speak in such… interesting ways.

Most of the parties she was at, Delyth found someone to speak with that held her rapt attention for the rest of the evening. She would talk about Glaw Novo, and other areas of Tir Amser she had traveled to in her short Aeldir lifespan, though Delyth did find it a bit vexing when almost no one believed her when she said she was over a century old. Most people reacted as if it were some sort of joke. Non-Aeldir were so strange, sometimes.

Her conversation partners, in turn, would discuss many different things; explorations of new lands were always a way of getting Delyth’s attention. Fantastigoria had recent made some headway in looking into new, nearby regions, and there were current diplomatic matters between the nation and their neighboring areas to bring them into the fold. Delyth understood this, and hoped for the best. Though privately, she was looking forward to observing what the fall out would be, should someone be given a task that they then fail at.

So far, the juiciest bits of gossip she’d found in her time here dealt with whom was going through the process of Fantastigorian procreation, and with whom, and how that was terribly important escaped Delyth entirely; what the Illusiocracy called ‘innuendo’ was rather beyond Delyth, but seemed to amuse quite a few people, even at times, to the point of laughter. Rumors like that flew around the dinner tables… though sometimes interrupted by someone pointing out that Delyth was ‘but a child’ and ‘didn’t need to hear that’. These people were always the one's who seemed most oblivious to the better rumors going around. It was no wonder they were scorned and no wonder they thought her "but a child". Truly, idiots seem to be universal consistent among every nation.

After all, there was also quite a bit that wasn’t being said, and Delyth spent rather a lot of her time figuring it all out. She still didn’t have a complete handle on things, but was quite certain that there was more to it when someone said something like, "Have you seen what Vedicci has done with his front garden? Obviously aping Madarrno, barely even hiding it."

And so Delyth found parties such as these ever so stimulating. She’d spend part of the time talking, and the other part confused, and afterwards, when everyone was resting, she’d have time to meditate on what she’d heard and sort through it all. The other Spring Girls would probably be so jealous when Delyth finally returned home to Glaw Novo. Delyth would be willing to wager she was among those who went a party nearly every day.

Yet, there were times that such parties were not… as stimulating. In fact, there was one recently that was rather distressing, even a bit scary. Delyth was over a century old, but she was still, compared to Fantastigorians, the size of a child. True, she had the advantages of being Aeldir, and she rather liked her pointed ears more than the poor non-Aeldir round ears that seemed to be so common and uninteresting. And, to the amusement of her hosts, she continued to dye her normally blonde hair purple with the petals of the Violet Roses that she sometimes received with the letters from Lady Spring. Many fellow party goers were asking questions about her hair, and she even noticed that several Fantastigorians were beginning to copy her.

Delyth found that though her hosts accommodated for her size, it was rather like what she imaged living in the Autumn Court was like: lots of tall people everywhere, with many things being said with only a few words. It was rare, and in fact, rather surprising, to meet La Duksae Lanatae at one of these functions, and be talked to so, so… blunty by the woman.

It was a stately dinner party. Delyth's ‘guides’ were being unobtrusive, but as always ever present, such that if she weren't so well trained by virtue of being Spring Court, she might not notice them at all. In a way, she respected this, and it was another point in Fantastigoria’s favor. The party was… not very memorable so far. Some double speak that Delyth was slowly translating to mean that the area down south of the Illusiocrasy had people who rather liked wolves; or maybe were run by them. Delyth wasn’t sure yet. She was going to listen more, but she was quietly approached by one of her guides and told that someone special wants to meet her. Looking around, Delyth could see that this was timed in such a way that few other guests will notice her disappearing, and she found herself being escorted into the mansion's library.

It was conspicuously quiet and empty, save for Duksae Lanatae, a pair of hugely comfy lounge chairs, and a platter with a pitcher of expensive alcohol and two glasses. La Duksae Lanatae wore a rather prim dress of deep red, trimmed in black. Her collar was fluffy, and Delyth suspected that it was this ‘wool’ material that she was hearing more and more about. This suspicion was reinforced by the mask that Duksae Lanatae wore. It was the face of an animal that seemed mostly harmless, but Delyth knew the creature as a ‘lamb’, and heard tales of lambs that had bitten someone, or trampled them in swarms when scared.

Lanatae was, by all accounts, similar; Delyth knew from hearsay that she was mostly harmless. She helped to keep the country running, and worked closely with the Maestro. In Delyth’s hearing, she had been explained as the 'Arch Secretary to the Fine Details of Illusiocrasy', which was apparently some kind of person that aided in keeping the governance of the country running smoothly. Delyth had heard only good things about Duksae Lanatae.

The important thing, after all, was that she was La Duksae; Delyth knew enough to know that to be Luksae meant you were the closest of the close to the Maestro. That was enough for Delyth. Lanatae was close to the Maestro, just as Delyth was close to Lady Spring. They were both important.

Delyth walked into the library, and climbed up onto the chair. Delyth did not bother with the drink; she had tried ‘alcohol’ before, and it did not agree with her. It made her feel woozy, and gave her a headache. Lanatae was reading something, and sipping at the glass in front of her. Delyth chose to wait until Lanatae spoke.

“Lady Delyth. I have been receiving distressing information. I found myself… taken aback by it all. So I must ask you some questions. During the Fantastic Masquerade, what was it that this villain, this Matteric Salarinni, did, exactly?” Lanatae finally spoke, and it was without the typical winding speech that many Fantastigorians used; it was refreshing in a way, but also a bit disconcerting.

“Your forgiveness. I can only tell you what I have been told. I was not present to witness the actual matter, and only have second hand accounts. Still, I shall do as I can to present the facts as I know them. The man from Hess Tannan came ashore in a less flashy manner than his group’s leader. He demanded from a guard that someone important be brought to speak with him. Lady Axuda was busy at first, but eventually found time to speak to him. I am understanding that they spoke of Hess Tannan, and what that nation had to offer Tir Amser, and that Lady Axuda was evaluating the information in order to determine if a meeting with Lady Spring could be set up.”

“So this villain, this Matteric Salani, by all accounts an ambitious but harmless merchant, just wanted to act as a dignitary of his nation. And then Lady Axuda screamed and fled from…?”

“Lady Axuda was terrorized. She was shown something highly inappropriate. By what I have been told, he pulled something out of his pants. I do not know what. It made her very upset. She refuses to speak of it.” Delyth continued, “Guards quickly arrived, pointing spears towards the man from Hess Tannan. They were Spring Court guards. Our size… well, even here in Fantastigoria, I find myself not being taken seriously at times; it is understandable, but it was probably a complication at the time. The boys from the Spring Court looked upon the man from Hess Tannan, awaiting an explanation. As I understand it, he offered little in the way of apology, but laughed much. Though small, Spring Court guards are still guards.

They were the official authority there, just as you are the official authority here. Though you may not believe me when I say I have the same strength as that of a full grown man, and could – were I barbaric – fight off many such people from Hess Tannan if the situation called for it, I would still submit to your authority if you required it of me. Especially if guards held spears to my chest. I may not feel overly threatened by those spears, but I would respect that I am on your lands; not my own.”

“In my own talks with your people, I am given to understand that hospitality is thus: the host guarantees safety, so long as the guests behave. Is this not true?” Delyth asked.

“It is, in part.” The lamb mask nodded. Her voice was unwaveringly crisp and stoic, like an instructor reviewing a familiar curriculum. “Yet, that’s not the whole of it. Hospitality is more thus: The host guarantees safety, as long as the guest does not act in violence. A rude guest is warned their behavior is inappropriate, and then given the opportunity to leave.”

“Though I could not presume to speak for her, that is, to my understanding, the arrangement of what Lady Autumn was following. We had Lord Summer, among the greatest of warriors in all of Tir Amser, staying back with his rangers, in order to guarantee the safety of the guests. More visible guardians, such as those from the Spring Court, Winter Court, and Autumn Court were scattered around to act quickly and serve warning to those who broke hospitality.” Delyth explained. “In this case, the Spring Court guards were ignored. That is when, as has been explained to me by others, the regrettable action occurred and the man from Hess Tannan, the one called Matteric Salani, was no longer a guest, and instead a danger to other guests.”

“What manner of thing could be so offensive?” La Duksae Lanatae asked, then clarified, “Perhaps a rude question, but cultural differences are as they are. Do you speculate immodesty on the gentleman's part?"

Delyth frowned. “I honestly do not know the truth of it. I would perhaps find it disgusting if the man showed me an icky bug, though I doubt I would personally run away screaming. And Lady Axuda is made of stronger stuff then I. If I must speculate, I know that I would personally have a reaction – such as the one Lady Axuda had – to a few things. His, umm… immodesty would do it, yes. So would threats, either verbally, or physically. A dagger, perhaps? The guards do report seeing something glint in the light.”

Lanatae offered no comment on this, but did ask, “Madam Delyth, many eyes turned on the event in question after the scream. All reports that have come to my ears indicate the man offered a choked apology and attempted to retreat from the situation. He was not rebelling against any attempt by the guards to take him into custody, he was moving away at a casual pace. What say you to these witnesses?”

“I would say that I was not there, and if that is what they viewed, they would know more than I. From the point of view of our guards, however, they were given only the smallest of explanations, and were laughed at. I would not presume to enter into an argument about perspectives; I must admit, I find myself believing those of fellow Aeldir. We do not tell falsehoods. Nor do I recommend that others do so. Telling falsehoods to Lady Spring, Lady Autumn, Lord Summer, AND Lord Winter would be akin to you telling a falsehood to the Maestro and all of your fellow Duksae. Such a thing would be unthinkable, do you not agree?”

“Indeed. Yet, if it did occur…?” La Duksae was again just speculating and seeking answers, or so it seemed to Delyth.

She answered as such. “For a situation of this magnitude, death as a penalty to the liar would be a mercy. And death, as I have said before at many events while in your country, is rare enough as it is in Tir Amser. Very likely, each Season’s Lord and Lady would mete out a punishment. Lady Spring has not had to do so for… decades. The last such liar in Glaw Novo washed ashore from a shipwreck. A human man, I know not from where. He lived with us for a time, but he told a falsehood directly to Lady Spring. He was banished from the Spring Courtlands after hanging for weeks from trees by his arms and legs; his only sustenance the rain water that fell upon him. After, he was given as a gift to Lord Summer, to do with as he saw fit.

This was during a… conflict between our Seasons. I am sorry, I cannot say more about that. What I can say is that we never heard from the liar again. Were I to once again speculate, I would say the liar was hunted down, slowly. They were either slain, or, if their falsehood was uncovered, they could have been handed off to the Autumn Court for further punishment. If that occurred, again, they could have either been slain – a mercy, as I have said – or gifted to Lord Winter for the cycle to repeat a fourth time. If that happened? He would look back upon those weeks hanging from a tree as a time of merriment. Lugh Anann of the Winter Court is the finest Dullahan that Lord Winter has ever had. A true craftsman of his art. Even I fear him.”

The silence was excruciating as Lanatae absorbed what was said. Her eyes narrowed for a moment.

"No one has been accused of lying, Madam. You have repeatedly assured me that you were not a witness, and you are not accountable for any choices made that day, and so I will trouble you with this grim business no more." She eased back in her chair and took a luxurious sip from her cup. "A most elegant distortion indeed. No falsehoods, only subtle redactions and careful insinuations. What a relief. Tell your Lady Spring we look forward to blessing her mask, any time she's able to visit our shores. Thank you for your time."

Delyth wondered momentarily if she should bother discussing with Lanatae about ‘redactions’ and ‘insinuations’. Though Delyth had become quite skilled with the Trade Tongue in her time here, there were still many words that were new to her. Still, she knew a dismissal when she heard one, and there was a party downstairs. Delyth bowed, a small smile on her childlike face as she exited the room.

The smile disappeared as she found her guide right there, ready to escort her back to the party. Yet again, no chance to explore! Sometimes, these Fantastigorians were insufferably wonderful.

    Spoiler: News
    Show
    • The marriage of the King is completed at Elacervus’ Run in the early spring of 103, many say this is a sign of the kings growing faith. Meanwhile the new queen, Delphi Sharpclaw, wore an exquisite dress which has started a new trend in local fashion.
    • Quotations have been taken for a lager glass covering for the Elder Jummin’s Burrow. Rumor is that he has been tasked with carefully growing and documenting seeds received from the masked Fantastigorian.
    • During the after wedding hunt in Elacervus’ Run King Adriendel is seen using a finely crafted bow, also rumored to be of Fantastigorian origin. This same bow is named Butterflies Sting after the events of that hunt and takes its place in the songs of the Nitent’oculis.
    • After showing a visiting architect from the clans about the issue of crossing the wide southern river plans are drawn up for a simple but effective wooden bridge which will allow a chowder of scouts to cross and explore the far side. This architect has offered his services for a more permanent construction in the future.

    Spoiler: Elacervus 2
    Show
After the royal wedding the king himself rode into the woods of Elacervus’ Run to hunt the avatar of Elacervus. After many hours of wandering the area with his brother and aunt the great beast is spotted. Drawing the bow now known as Butterflies Sting the King’s aim was true and the beast fell to a single arrow whispered from the fine silken string.

Upon approaching the mighty deer the white spectral body began to break apart into a swarm of luminescent white butterflies, leaving behind only a pair of large horns. The horns are claimed by the king and many shamans call this a blessing on the recent marriage by the spirit of the hunt.

For weeks the butterflies are seen throughout the valley before slowly disappearing. About three months after the kill a lone hunter returned to a tavern claiming to have seen the great beast wondering the forest once more. In support of the area the king commissions guide posts to be built around the edge of the forest to aid in future hunts.

    Spoiler: Arborealis 2
    Show
Spring storms crash into the grove once more and many druids gathered at the holy sight fearing for the avatar of the mother tree. The quickly growing tree has become a massive redwood which now exceeds the height of the original and shelters the faithful well during peak of the storms.

During the storm arch druids carefully watch the tree and record every bolt of sky fire that falls upon it. No less than thirty strikes snake from the angry clouds into the branches of the avatar but no embers spark to flame to claim this tree. A hunter camping on a nearby mountain described the scene later as if the sky was made of hate for the proud tree towering out of the forest and claimed not a single strike hit any other part of the forest.

After the three days of rain that follow many natural ponds have formed under the great tree and many druids find meditating around these pools to be deeply relaxing. The Archdruid of the grove moves to encourage the practice and lays out plans to more permanently incorporate the pools into the design of the Arborealis’ Grove.

Years 104-105 of the Aenic Calendar

Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.

    Good luck!

    Claim!

The Prevaz through diplomacy and offered friendship begin to integrate Skianz into the court of the sovereign of Region 43. With some push they could no doubt seize greater control for the Prevaz.

The Anceris through guile and promises of wonder manage to leave intelligent and skillful diplomats within the court of the leader of Region 68. With a push and more support from the Principality they could likely win the region over to allegiance to the crown.

The Kingdom of Berrium falsifies documents from its past and negotiates with a small contingent of the people in Region 55 willing to claim Berrium heritage for promises of noble land grants in the ensuing integration of the region with the Kingdom to establish a sizable enough presence and claim to push in the coming years.

Melrakki-ey begins a plot to influence and inculturate the native leaders and people of Region 238 with offerings of friendship, trinkets, and extensions of alliance and unity. The nation is successful in placing Refr tribal members in the court of the other leader and they report a belief that with support from Melrakki-ey they could begin marriage integration and begin garnering support for unification of the two nations.

The Dynasty of Escaye comes to preliminary agreements with the Prophet Avlen and efforts begin to integrate the rogue Zaj’s cult followers and the land they claim into the Dynasty! [Claim 1/2]

Fantastigoria, using its shared culture and religious history with the trolls of ChornOstrav, begins to lay the foundations with the fractured populace for a Fantastigorian takeover of the region! [Claim 1/2]

    Convert!

Region 40 now contains a Minority of Doctrine of the Nine Candles.

The Tillwell now contains a Majority Grand Church of Daen.

Tannan now contains a Majority Doctrine of the Nine Candles.

Northern Aardrosil now contains a Minority of the House of the Pale Lady.

    War!

The Fiid conquer Region 40! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

The Shafar conquer Region 252! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

The Shafar conquer Region 327! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

The Brey-An conquer Region 233! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

Krozna conquers Region 29! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

Krozna conquers Region 30! If the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome!

The combined forces of the Summer and Winter Aeldir make landfall in Region 14 to the standing resistance of the brother kings, now bolstered by the presence of reinforcements from the Tillwell. The Aeldir face a staunch resistance by the natives and their allies from the south and while they manage to establish a fortified beach head in the region they fail to force its complete submission. With a more advantageous position and understanding of the land it's possible a further push could yield complete conquest of the region. For the Geshem's part of it they seem proud of the defense of their homeland if heavily reliant on continued Tillwell support.

The Knight Commander, with an edge over the Lord due to his martial ability from years serving in the field proves himself the winner, though his victory is somewhat disputed. Garnering only one solid hit in the pair's three bouts but suffering no hits himself the duel is concluded in his favor and he is named lord in Oleric's place. The displaced lord seems quite distraught by the results and is heard muttering blame to the king for forcing him to face a trained soldier in combat to secure his natural birth right. Oleric heads west into exile with his family and a small contingent of loyal followers.

[Military - Conquer (D2 - Unclaimed) - 3000 troops 1/2]: With her troops and supplies prepared, Lady Aske sets out. Her initial plan is to establish forward operating outposts on the edge of the desert from which to operate and resupply, and then begin slowly scouting out the area.

[Military - Conquer (59 - Unclaimed) - 1000 troops 1/2]: Upon discovering cocoa beans in Region 59, Lady Conferrus is known to have said "You have got to be kidding me." She reports her findings, offers the lands up for another house to grab and expects that to be the end of it. However, High Queen Roethye orders her to take the land since she was the one to discover it. Grumbling but acknowledging that it is her duty, Lady Conferrus begins establishing a military presence in the region. She avoids attacking the locals whenever possible as the house begins constructing military bases and conducting numerous scouting forays.

[Curiosity - Exploration - Roll]: Despite numerous warnings that in all likelihood there's another desert in that direction, House Materius requests a contingent of troops to explore northwest of Primus and west of region 59. This request is denied, as Roethye worries that the trip would be suicide.

Lady Materius takes the troops anyway. By the time Roethye learns of this, they have already left Primus.

[Curiosity - Exploration - Roll]: House Bestius takes a small contingent of troops and explores the lands directly south of Primus (57), hoping to have better luck than Lady Conferrus.

[Diplomacy - Marriage]: Tusameia's marriage to the Knight-Protector places Primus royal blood in the Kingdom of Berrium's line. She regularly travels between the two lands, serving in part as an ambassador. Any Princes that the royal couple has will stay in Berrium as heirs to their throne, while any daughters will return to the Imperium.

    Spoiler: News and Rumors

-It is said in Primus that Knight-Protector Alistair Binari was smitten with Tusameia Primus from their very first meeting, and that the Knight-Protector had trouble getting out of bed for the next week (how true this is depends on who you ask). Of course, a marriage between a king and a princess is as much a political venture as it is one of making love, and so this served as the beginning of an alliance.

-Tusameia gives birth to Binari's daughter (Oronara) in winter of 103, and his son (Valerius) in winter of 104. Oronara is 10th in line to the Imperium throne, and Valerius is the heir to the Berrium throne.

Expansionist: High Queen Roethye has adopted a highly expansionist national policy. Kingdom of Nand
    Round 3 | 104 - 105

    News and Rumours
    • The success of Kusal's diplomacy since taking over the regency has led to suggestions that the prince consort is the true power behind the throne.
    • Dark rumours hint of conspiracy to assassinate the regent and force the queen to return and take up the throne.
    • Prince Isfandir son of Kyros has been appointed as ambassador to Krozna. The young man, only sixteen and with no real experience of diplomacy, seems a surprising choice to many.

    Spoiler: The Nanda Ambassador
    Show
The elder Prince Isfandir was a strapping young man, his skin an attractive deep blue with the slightest hint of purple, though also, Kusal noticed as he looked him over, something of a fidgeter. Then again, he thought, he had had no indication of what he had been summoned here for, and left alone with the regent was likely to be daunting even for one of his age.

Soon you will be seventeen,” he said to him by way of getting the conversation, which was likely to be at least somewhat awkward, started. “The queen has asked me to investigate possible marriage prospects for you.

A half-truth, but one that did the trick. It was almost the lack of reaction that gave it away, though he could see a twinge around the eyes of – what? Apprehension? Disappointment? Anxiety? No matter.

Have you any thoughts on the subject?

Not really, no. I'm not aware of anyone in whom I would be interested.

Have you given the matter any thought at all?

Yes.” It was quick, and defensive in tone. Of course he had. Likely he had thought of little else for some time.

I had thought perhaps of sending you to Krozna as our ambassador.” That surprised the prince. “I noticed at the festival last month you did not seem interested in any of the prospects before you.

Following Aiman's letter he had taken a much keener interest in the proclivities of the royal family, and while the festival had to an extent been fortuitously timed, Kusal had taken advantage of the opportunity offered to gauge the prospects. Isfandir had paid strikingly little attention to the débutantes and dancing girls, though with none of the embarrassed furtiveness that he would have expected from a boy his age.

I had thought perhaps I should pursue a military career, or join a religious order,” Isfandir said, carefully.

Both creditable choices, and if that is what you wish the queen will not stand in your way. You are surely aware of your position: a third son of a third son. You are still family, but not so high in status that you can be supported indefinitely or... insulated from scandal.

What scandal do you think I might cause?” Isfandir's eyes were narrowed now. It seemed they were both aware of the true subject under discussion, though unwilling to broach it openly.

Unchastity is a crime even among junior royals,” Kusal said, as gently as he could, “and I suspect there is no young woman in the kingdom who could ever command your full affection. Am I right in so thinking?

I have not met every young woman in the country, but in broad terms, you have a point.

So you could pursue a career or join a church, though remain mindful that the queen's laws still apply to those in such service. Or you could as I have suggested travel to represent the queen in Krozna.”

    Why Krozna?

Mirzahib Shou is a young man of similar age to yourself, and I believe you and he would get on well. If you can establish a good relationship with him it would be to the benefit of this kingdom and, I think, to you. Besides which, what you get up to in Krozna is Kroznat business, and nothing to concern the justices here.

“This is not merely an excuse to get an embarrassment out of the way?”

Kusal looked at him levelly. “You could choose to see it like that. You could choose to believe that if you remain here it is a matter of time before some scandal emerges which damages this family. But you are not the first royal to find himself in a difficult situation. I have read that Kambysos II preferred the company of men. There are those who say the same about Queen Ankarleh, even. But times have changed even if the ways men have not, and times are now more difficult for people such as yourself. Going to Krozna would give you the opportunity to flourish away from the public gaze here.

Do I have a choice in the matter?

    Yes.

    Then I will go.

    Kusal grinned. “Good boy.

    Spoiler: The Legend of Barhot
    Show
The princess Barhot was beautiful but vain, and claimed that she was the most beautiful woman in the world, even moreso than the gods. For her pride, Turandah cursed her: all men would desire her, but the first man she lay with would own her body and soul forever.

Soon suitors from all over the world began to arrive to seek Barhot's hand. In order to avoid having to marry any of them, she presented each of them with a test. They must answer three riddles, and if they answered incorrectly, she would have them executed. Despite this, many great lords and princes propositioned her and failed her test.

A Nanda prince correctly answered all three riddles, thus claiming her hand in marriage. However Barhot was still reluctant to give herself up to a man, and the prince offered her a further bargain: if she could discover his name, then unknown to her, by sunrise he would submit to be executed like his unfortunate predecessors.

Barhot's agents scoured the city seeking any who knew his name and captured Sodiah, the prince's loyal servant. She was tortured, but, despite her agony, Sodiah refused to reveal the prince's name and eventually committed suicide so that she could not be forced to give it up. At the moment of her death, the sun rose, and with it the bargain expired, leaving Barhot obliged to marry the prince. Her father, who had never approved of her ways, and wished for a grandson, had the ceremony performed immediately.

As a wedding gift, the prince surrendered his name (Shohan) to Barhot and set her free from Turandah's curse. Overcome by Shohan's generosity, Barhot renounced her vanity and cruelty and the two of them lived happily ever after, becoming ancestors to a great line of kings.

Some versions of the story claim however that after Shohan gave up Barhot's freedom she immediately had him executed like her former suitors and ruled as an unwed tyrant until the end of her days.

    News & Rumors
    Spoiler
    Show

    • Lady Autumn has exchanged a series of letters with her 'niece' Lady Kellianth requesting a suspension of diplomatic correspondence by Lady Spring and her girls with outside nations.
    • The Autumnal Court seeks discussion with a number of nations after years of silence following the Masquerade.
    • Aeldir of the Autumn Court take rapidly to Fantastigorian plays, to the chagrin of Lady Autumn. Local playwrights begin to imitate the Fantastigorian style but plays from the eastern lands proper remain the most popular in open-air acts of theatre.
    • Luska, uninvited to Tir Gwydr and now a thorn in the side of trade has earned itself an especial enmity after its colonization out from under the noses of the Aeldir in previous years. Their lack of any form of defense is noted.
    • Lady Autumn in a surprise appearance chooses to play the role of "The Shrew" in a production of Le Duksae Majalis' most cutting play, A Housewarming Party. Her performance is applauded, albeit with hesitation, for its near-perfect portrayal of the character. However the play ends in a twist. At the point where the merchant ends up trapped in the basement by "The Old Man" instead of escaping thanks to "The Child" in the normal play he remains locked away by the homeowners and forgotten about through their death, doomed to an end of his own. Reception to this twist is mixed, some praising it and others deeply dissatisfied.
    • The Geshemefar's continued fighting against a superior force causes much confusion within the Autumn Court. Exchanges are carried out near daily with the Summer Court, hoping Lord Summer with his military knowledge might shed some light on the perplexing situation but none comes. After repeated warnings and offers of peace it seems the Decasage intends to war until her destruction.

    The Great Clans of Nifhel
    The Harbringer Lochbar

    • The Harbringer Lochbar has gathered the 4 Horsemen of the Fimbulvintr for War! Banners of every Great Clan and their subordinate lieges ride out to battle, stomping through the corpse fields and frozen lakes to conquer the natives of P6. [Military]
    • Finish preparations for garrisoning Nifhel against the foreign heathens discovered to the east of these sacred lands. Their cadavers will hang high on the trees of Nifhel as testament to others. (2/2) [Military]
    • The Right Hand of Pestilence, his herald Drepsòtt has been given command of a handful of Raiders bought from Clan Rumpelsun to explore the lands south of P6. [Curiosity]
    • The Horsemen Pestilence has offered a lord's bounty for the fastest riders to join him in storming across the heathen lands. Having discovered this new territory he lusts for more land and seeks to know what lay beyond these snowy lands to the east. He holds his blade to the East, and he rides with the shrieking winds. [Curiosity]
    • Startled by their discovery to the East, a contingency of Kappi Prestur's from the Clan Grimmson have decided to abandon the war effort and ride for the west instead, intent on discovering more lands for Grimmson to explore and exploit. To return empty handed and not contribute to the war effort would leave them as little more then traitors, and so they march with the determination of the damned. [Curiosity]

    The Prevazan Artistry

    Actions:

    1. Using the trading connections gained from Aneth, diplomatically colonize region 42. TN: 14, Roll: 17 (7 Dip + 2 Discovery + 8 Roll) Success! (Dip)

    2. After two years of friendly interaction, the Prevaz extend an offer to the sovereign of region 43: to merge with the fast growing Prevazan Artistry. In exchange, the managing of the country's diplomatic issues and inner workings will be left to the Prevaz, while the sovereign controls the army and all internal safety and military affairs. Claim region 43. TN: 10 or 17, Roll: 14. Minor Success! (Dip)

    3. In the light of the happenings around them, the Prevaz start forming a defensive army, to defend them in time of need. The Guwa Legion (Spear Legion) is born. Raise 1 Land Unit. (Mil)

    4. Following the direction of a few helpful natives, Skianz explorers continue their exploration efforts to the northwest of Region 42. Roll: 11. (Cur)

    5. Formalize the transport of Silver and Art between Aneth and Skianz, creating a steady supply of goods between the two regions. Create the Western Cultural Exchange Trade route with Silver and Art. (Cur)

    Spoiler: Rumours and Stories
    Show
    • With the Prevaz encountering the Fidd people, messengers are sent out to make formal contact and hopefully trading connections. Rumour has it that contact was made for more serious reasons.
    • In Aneth, the main Whansis tradesman, Jero, has made a claim that he found the largest vein of Silver ever recorded by intelligent beings. Upon further investigation, it turns out to be a hoax, with several Whansis and Himinn children painting black rocks in a grey tint and using small chucks of low quality silver to deceive the man. The children were reprimanded for their folly. Jero has continued his work, disappointed, although he praised the ingenuity that the children displayed.
    • With the rebirth of the Prevazan army, fighting Prowess is all the rage in Skianz. Although they are not good at it (yet), the Prevaz seem to enjoy the exercise.
