Help with a Dark Sun Random Adventure Generator
Hi, I'm putting together a Randomized Dark Sun Adventure Generator, and I thought I'd ask for a bit of help from the community.
I'd link it here, but i JUST joined the forum, and apparently I can't drop links just yet.... I will link it soon, though.
It operates by randomly picking combinations from lists of Nouns, Verbs, etc to make a rough adventure hook. The grammar won't be polished, but it'll be nice in a pinch when you're out of ideas for the night's session, or as a way to brainstorm new adventure/campaign ideas.
I can put it together myself eventually, but honestly I'm too lazy/busy to populate the lists. So, I thought maybe everyone could just post a few (or a bunch) of ideas for the lists (or suggest improvements), and we'd get a pretty large pool of options fairly quickly.
I've already got some words in the lists. General and specific words are fine, and both would be great. (for instance, both Sorcerer King and Hamanu will be equally great nouns as the "Quest Giver").
I know not all the combinations will necessarily make sense, but sometimes figuring out how to make sense of a confusing combination can lead to some really interesting ideas. (for instance: "A Templar Begs the party to Burn Down a Thief in/at a City despite/during a Famine." - What could that possibly mean?)
I'll leave the link up once the Generator is finished, and post a improved copy if I manage to come up with a better way to accomplish this w/o using a spreadsheet program.
So..... let's hear some ideas!

Re: Help with a Dark Sun Random Adventure Generator
I'll give you a few.
*Someone has managed to assassinate the local sorcerer lord. The question is, who did it...and how the hell did they pull it off on a SORCEROR LORD?
* There is a town nearby that seems to have gotten access to a seemingly-limitless source of fluid, food, armour and/or other valuables. When questioned about it, they are very coy and wary, and it's likely to be entirely unsavory. Get in their secret city and find their secrets.SpoilerBonus points if it's the city of the tarrasque.
* One of the local leader's greatest warriors has just kidnapped (or freed, depending on who you ask) all his favourite combines, and now charges off to a "promised land" at high speed with them, with the leader in hot pursuit. Up to the players on which side they come down on.SpoilerBonus point if the players don't recognise the mad-max reference wholeheartedly and/or theyre's a madman on a charito playing an electric guitar.
* You were all captured in your sleep, when your slavers chained you up so quietly you didn't notice until you were being made to march. Now, it's not a question of "if" you'll escape, but when, and are you willing to brave the long treck to their home base to stop them once and for all?
*A burly warrior is wandering the desert, seeking to answer the riddle of steel. There's barely any steel in the desert though, so he's having a lot of trouble, but he offers his sword arm and a crapload of valuables to anyone that dares aid him.
* A spelljammer has crashed on the ugly ball of sand you call Arthas. Rush towards it and loot it of anything valuable!
*A monk/unarmed swordsage/weirdo of incredible power is marching through the desert, delivering head-exploding justice wherever he goes. The sorcerer lords, being very unjust, would prefer to avoid their heads exploding, and havemade an offer you can't refusekindly suggested you go up and talk to him, and either find out what he wants so he stops punching all the good officers, or otherwise slay him.SpoilerBonus points if they've never seen fist of the north star.
*Upon the eclipse, a dungeon from another plane has opened into your own, containing an artifact of incredible power: a decanter of endless water. Plumb it's aquatic depths and claim it for yourself!
