Basic Fantasy - Cool Retroclone
So I found this little thing on Amazon
http://www.basicfantasy.org/
And apparently the folks who make it give away all the books for free as PDFs and sells the softcovers at cost.
Has anyone looked it over before? I'm kind of digging it, but I think I might end up house ruling a few things to make the Fighter types more appealing (and to make it a little more 2e-esque, as I tend to do with Retroclones)Last edited by alchemyprime; 2015-11-11 at 12:04 PM.

Re: Basic Fantasy - Cool Retroclone
It's a neat system. It harkens back to Basic D&D, except it uses d20 mechanics. I'm more of an AD&D 1E (or OSRIC) kind of guy, but I use Chris Gonnerman (the author) and his teams adventures all the time - with little to no converting. Great stuff, and yup the PDFs are all free.
Your best bet is to sign up at the forums over there if you have any other questions.
Have fun!

I'm running it for a group of kids at the school where I teach. It's a great little system and the price is literally unbeatable.
