Yes, the master has the elf and her pet... He keeps them close, in his chambers.

Arcivus, you go. One devil is charmed and talking to Xavier, 2 others are staring off, incapacitated, into space, and the last is still aggressive, but is currently grappled and restrained by Mr. Benson. If you attack him or any of the incapacitated ones, you get advantage on all attacks. Note that attacking one under the influence of a spell will most likely end the effect on it.

The attack does, however, end the effects on it. It takes his action to escape, disengaging, and trying to open the locked door. It seems to be a complex lock with a combination is used, so it will take his next action to open this.

    I trust you, not them...

Then he imprints into your mind, his memory of the general layout of the castle. It is quite large, but he focuses on where you need to go, explicityly, in order to get to the master.

There are guards within the halls. They may not understand you as I do.

He steps toward the door and enters in the combination, unlocking it. He then steps aside and puts out his arm, as if gesturing the way. He then looks down and up at you all again, shakes his head a bit, but continues on.

    The other 2 remain dazed.

The door is massive - very much suitable for even a Pit Fiend to enter in and out of with relative ease.

We are technically still in combat, as Xavier's effect may end at a moments notice with a successful save (he seems as if trying to shake off the effects every few seconds, to no avail).

The other 2 are out for the count until a minute comes up.

Basically, all of the effects are temporary, with Xavier's able to broken at a moment's notice. Dr. Nimm's are out for about 6 more rounds.

    Hit rolls 1, 14 (+13=27) save DC 21

I then have Mr Benson restrain him per previous post (23 athletics). Ideally, while covering his mouth, but the rules don't mention if that's doable.

Arcivus hits the blinded? and restrained? demon. (ill roll twice, dunno if I have advantage or disadvantage so Ill let you decide)

    9/6 + 16 = ? ; (1d8)6 +10+(2d8)4 +(2d10)10 = 30

    Fast forward a bit...

After a brief skirmish, you finish off the remaining devils. They strike at you in vain-- your defenses are to great. You instinctively hide the bodies.

Xavier, you have a general mental "map" of the where you need to go. You know that devils, despite being evil are notoriously truthful. Do you all proceed? What is the marching order? Fell likes to remain at the rear or middle.

I scout ahead 50 feet in front. Mr Benson stays with the party as he is likely loud. Maintain Alter self dexterity or recast as needed.

I have Rupert scout another 50 feet ahead of me, creating two layers, totalling 100 feet.

    Stealth rolls :
    18 for me (total)
3 for Rupert, before modifiers (don't recall, but he's a Fey fox).

The hallways are manned, but you all make good time and scuttle down quickly, all while avoiding any guards, as they patrol the corridors. You bypass a few squads of bearded devils, but advance unnoticed.

Finally, you come into a grand entry way, truly fit for a king. Small statues and ancient works of art, all beautiful in a gothic sort of way, line the passageway. The passage way is easily 30-40 feet across and nearly 50 feet high. It ends in a large, heavy wooden door, which is reinforced with black metal or steel. The face of a sophisticated demon acts as the handle/knocker. The door is slightly ajar. You are puzzled as to why this hallway is not guarded.

This is where the devil has directed you. The hallway is easily 200 feet long, so it would be difficult to enter from the main keep area and then retreat if too deep in. You all huddle off in an empty room, as you continue to evade guard patrols to figure out your next move.

What else is in the hallway? And what's in these rooms? Investigation 32

    Nice total.

You and Rupert do have the liberty to scout ahead a little. Many of the rooms at the lower levels are simple, but clean barracks, weapon stashes, supply rooms, etc. On the mid-level, you do come across what looks to be a study, library, or other room of knowledge and intellect. You can try to explore it at the expense of time.

The area where you would eventually go is at the highest level, which happens to be level 6. Here, the rooms are much more grandiose.

Each level is complete with kitchen, bathing area, training/sparring rooms, etc. Everything and anything you would expect in an elaborate keep. The higher the level you go, the larger the scale though with fewer the rooms.

    Stealth rolls :
    18 for me (total)
3 for Rupert, before modifiers (don't recall, but he's a Fey fox).
Dr. Nimm has the lead in the direction you all go, although everyone knows the general direction.

(Basic idea of how to get to the stairs at each floor, ascend to the 6th level, and basic directions to what looks to be the main, master chamber of the keep. The stairs are not erratically placed, but there is not a single stairwell that goes from the top to the bottom floors either, so this knowledge is very useful in avoiding unnecessary encounters)

He is 50 feet behind Rupert and 50 feet in front of you, making it 100 feet from the back rank and the point. Mr. Benson and Arcivus are at the front with Xavier and Fell right behind.

Did you say library? I simply MUST know what's in a library in hell.

    "Rupert, keep watch."

I quickly scan the titles and toss the more interesting looking ones at Mr Benson to stash in a sack, sheet, tablecloth, or similar contrivance.

Perception 30. I think one of my feats gives me +5? If not it's 25.

High enough. You scour the place looking for something... anything of value. History of the Realms? Read that one. You could probably teach it. The Blood Wars: A Tale of Two Fiends. Pft. Child's play. Archdemons and the Importance of Heirarchy. Boring. How the Nine Hells Came to be My New Home. Ha, a comedy section? There is something though that does catch your eye. Climbing in the chair, which is massive and sized for a creature about 2 sizes larger than you, sits a relatively new-looking tome, atop a massive desk. You take a gander and see about only half of it has been written. The title of the book is made out: Peace Among Fiends: Devils and Demons United.

Suddenly you hear a bit of commotion just outside of this room. Rupert is with you. You look to him and he has a small case with what looks to be a number of scrolls in it.

    What do you do?

Meanwhile, the rest of you are further down said hallway. Dr. Nimm gestured for you to keep a safe distance since his can act with unnatural speed and stealth, so you are all awaiting his signal. He disappeared into a room. You end up waiting about 5 minutes and, although it is silent, start to grow concerned. Suddenly...

Spoiler: Not Dr. Nimm (a bit of commotion)
    Show

A pair of hulking creatures start stamping down the hallway. They seem to be snarling and goofing with one another and, as they approach the library entrance, they seem to take notice of something within. They are Horned Devils and stand easily as tall as an ogre, but are far more fearsome, sporting massive horns, wings, and a large 2-pronged fork. Truly a terrifying sight. You know that Dr. Nimm went in, but its been a few minutes since you have heard or seen him.

Arcivus motiones quietly for Fell and Xavier to move with him towards the door, timing it in a way that they dont see or hear us moving towards them before they move into the room.
Arcivus use his bonus action to activate his boots and hover 5inches above the ground to reduce his noice, hopefully negating his disadvantage to stealth.

I speak to my allies telepathically.

"Try to remain still and quiet. I will attempt to cloak us from being seen."

I activate Nomadic Chameleon (Step from Sight) and turn every ally within 60 feet that I can see invisible.

Let me know how many points that cost me since I am not sure if I see everyone.
