playing mutant.. is.. probelmatic. Isn't it?

And I have quite builded up setting for moscow. (including little things- like Churtka- "Damned vodka" inspired from nuka cola)

But... I would be alone there.
And why would russian get to usa, in such world?

So I need to think of american character....
and surprisingly, it isn't easy.

His ancestors could be pre war Russian, and there is technology to cross the oceans. Airships and boats exist in the Falloutverse. Hell the Enclave in Fallout 2 had used an Oil Rig in the middle of the Pacific as there base.

They had thousands of agents in usa. So... they planned that if the nuke day will come, all the agents would hide in there, and get out to conqure america for U.s.sr...
as things go in fallout- it didn't went exactly as planned.

The Funny thing is China who are the big bad evil Red scare type in the Falloutverse, did have something like that planned and it failed horribly. So yes I could believe Russia had something similar planned.

Well... I imagine, that just like ussr, the safe fell apart in slow but sure process. Internal fights, infections...

The character I'm making is Ukrainian, his name is Ivan Kovalchuk and he is an alcoholic inventor who used to be a park ranger. I want him to have been around before the war, so I might go the Nick V direction and have him be a synth.

It seems like the current group could use a slightly more grounded character. The concept being a scavenger that, due to the state of the world has had to broaden his career prospects beyond "pick stuff up, sell it". With society actually making progress while pre-war supply dumps becoming more scarce, he'd find himself doing things from gecko hunts to package delivery. Sort of living through the death of the new old west at what would otherwise be the prime time of his career.
