I have the coolest mom ever, and here is why.

So we were at Wal-Mart yesterday, you know just buying stuff, when walking through the store we went around to the electronics section. In there, there was the new DOOM game (It's in all caps because that's what it looks like). Now normally, my mom doesn't really care about new AAA games, but she saw it and asked me "Did they remake DOOM?" I said yeah, and then we got into a huge conversation about DOOM. Turns out, my mom is a big fan of DOOM.

Want me to go first? I once hated an individual so much that I wished he was dead. Consistently, for years. Several years later he died probably pretty horribly (small plane crash, so probably pretty horrible). If you're the type who believes that wishing can alter the universe to create reality, well there ya go. If you're more rational, then it was just a happy coincidence.

It gets better! (Worse.) Back at winter break that year, people were talking about "what a shame" that he died. No me. Glad he was dead and I'd piss on his grave given opportunity. Generally horrified looks. His cousin and my best friend said that was kind of cold. I replied that he had an entire lifetime to show me one single act of kindness or humanity instead of his consistency in acting the a-hole to me at all times.

People use the word "hate" a lot, and far too often. I suspect they really don't know hatred when they talk about things which they find mildly irritating or distasteful. I know hatred, and it's been a very long time since I've actually hated anything.

I was talking about your comment when I said "Sure, why not?" But the comment about jerks was specifically referencing NKC's use of "jerk" to describe other characters' behavior towards her character.

Gotta have some kind of family business... mostly as "sponsors". Specializing in pseudo-Asian fetishism, because no adventurer put enough into INT to know or care what "Asian" culture looked like. They were a legitimate geisha house, until the rich customers kept demanding prostitutes in slutty outfits. Captialism won out. It was a silly meta-joke. Some of the girls were Calistrian clerics, because you can add Remove Disease as an added perk to your visit.

My character was one of the expensive ladies though. The GM said she could get a rate of 1000 gp/hr. I never took that up, because I don't care how much Lord Farquuad is willing to pay, I don't want to even think about that.

I confess that I am confused about what a "hipster" is.
Most of the time people just seem to mean a young adult as far as I can tell. When I thought I knew what "hipster" ment, it was an old time word sort of like "beatnik", it ment that you spent alot of time and effort on "art and entertainment" (if I had a dollar for every bad band I saw and band members I knew, well I can't remember for sure but it's alot of dollars!), because we couldn't figure out a way to get a job where we earned enough money to have a house, and support a family, so "art" filled our time. (my bands name was "Abracadaver" btw. No we didn't make a record).
But now people say "rents are going up because of hipsters moving in".
So what's a hipster now?

My understanding has always been that a hipster is a person who avoids things that are "cool" or "mainstream" in the name of nonconformity, and may also claim that ___________ "used to be cool" or that they liked it "before it was cool." Plenty of stereotypes have grown up around the hipster (they drink PBR, they have beards, wear flannel, etc.), and they pretty much took over for emo kids as the stereotypically annoying and hated group of people.
