That version of the blurb doesn't really work, since "Unless it's meant to be inserted in the middle of older art." doesn't relate to anything else - if you changed it to "And everything from now on will be unless it's meant to be inserted in the middle of older art", it would make more sense.

Shouldn't the font that the strip now used by the comic - Wildwords Lower per this Giant post (where he slightly misnames it as Wildwords Lowercase [sic]) - be part of the Index? (Possibly as an entry, possibly as an additional note to "On Changing Font Style".)

At the time, it didn't pass a vote for inclusion...but I'm certainly open to discussing its inclusion again; it's been a bit over four years now. What's everyone else think about it?

On the font, and on the "is it interesting enough" criterion generally: "Interesting" has always been viewed as a very, very low bar here. This is because "interesting" is very much in the eye of the famous monster covered by some company's intellectual property rights. In other words: These details matter to a portion of the audience, we should include them.

That's absurd, sir. Not that I'm saying that I wouldn't vote in such way if my mistress hadn't told me to, but even if that was the case, beings who live for centuries are indeed in a position to have a good understanding about the value of recording information. (Just keeping the joke on. Your vote is your vote)

You indicated your approval, yes. There's no official vote at this point...and barring some shift in the general direction, there won't be one; it's looking like the entry will simply be added into the Index on the 25th (barring five more quotes coming up in the interim).

Hmm. Does that mean the quote about originally using Comic Sans should be included as well? Adding onto the entry for the change of fonts doesn't make a whole lot of sense without describing the change itself.

I have thousands myself, but I chose Comic Sans because all of the other "comic book" style fonts that I had were caps-only (because American comic books are usually caps-only). I prefer writing with sentence casing, so I picked Comic Sans. I did not know that anyone had an issue with it, however, until OOTS had been running for some time. For the "Julio Scoundrél" story in SSaDT, I experimented with a sentence-case font from Blambot Foundry that I didn't have access to when OOTS began, and I really liked it (though it really needed the organic speech balloons I used there to make it feel right). At this point, even though I have more attractive font options available, I'm probably going to stick with Comic Sans to the end now. It'll just be confusing to switch in the middle.

Makes me feel a little old that we voted on that four years ago! I still remain in favor of inclusion. I’d also be okay with the original comic sans quote. Is the idea that one would be a see also to the other or would they both get separate entries?

I think the proposed direction was having all the font-y quotes in a single entry. Maybe something like....

On Changing Font Style The failure of the Giant's old computer means the style couldn't stay the same, hence the change from "Comic Sans" to "Wildwords Lowercase".
