No, I think it was a false alarm, and I don't think it's anywhere near my turn anyway. Carry on.

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Spoiler: SpectatorsWell, I have to say, I am screwed. Now that I somewhat have the lay of the land, I see my starting position is worse than I though: South America is teeming with City-States, leaving me no place with enough space for a proper city without losing some border space to one of those, and often enough the mountains as well. Maybe on the western side of the mountains there might be room, but there I lose space to the mountains anyway. I think I'll probably have to conquer one of these city-states, and look to expand onto islands or into North America as soon as possible (particularly since I took Liberty...).
On the upside, I think I might have gotten my wish to be the only player on the continent - need to explore further south and west to be sure, but it's looking relatively likely I think. Can't say it's as much of an upside as I'd hoped, though...Toph Pony avatar by Dirtytabs. Thanks!

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Spoiler: Mr. Silver: IroquoisA fine day to you as well! Our Scout is rather distant from our capitol, so we have no logging plans in the region. I hope you will not object to me removing some of the Jungle from within my cities to develop luxuries?
P.S. Hope that you get the 30g from the city-state: it'll be only fair since I snagged the ruins (Culture obtained, trimming a few turns off the next policy).
Spoiler: SpectatorsHere's an image of our fine city:
Hope this works, hope this works...
It's probably a bit risky going for this as early as I am, but I just saw that someone went God-King for their Pantheon: a nice all-arounder if you can't think of any particular benefits for your place. I figure that there ought to be something decent still around when I'm done building. Going production focus would kill my growth completely and only save 4 turns. Given that I am (I think) ahead on tech from the ruins earlier, I ought to be able to get this done first. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully.

Sorry, the image embed didn't work, though I was able to look at the image by quoting your reply and going to the URL manually. So I take it you're building Stonehenge to build your faith up and snag a pantheon? Are you planning on taking a specific one?

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Spoiler: Sunday spectator update
This is the first record instance of Chieftain William saying "Seems legit."
Hopefully, they are dealt with forever.
The town guard is almost to the palace, to guard William in his majesty.
As our scouting band goes into the frosty Canadian wilderness. We find a relic from a forgotten time where Canada ruled the lands.
Here we see that William of Orange, wants us to harvest some of these oranges... Get it. Get it.
Here we see a map of Amsterdam.
And here we see that we are best in crop yield and manufactured goods.

So yeah, I think I know where I am. I'm located between Eastern Europe, the middle east, Russia, and Asia geographically. The furthest from any sea physically possible. Ooooooohhhhh game. It was hard enough playing considered bad civilizations, but playing in bad starting locations as well?!

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Spoiler: Discussion of PolynesiaYeah, but so far from the coast, his special ability might as well not exist. By the time it will get to matter, the others will likely have researched Optics and/or Astronomy, rendering it moot. A shame, too; I was hoping to see Polynesia do its thing, since I don't have that DLC and its special abilities favor (or at least support) a completely different expansion strategy.Last edited by VoxRationis; 2016-05-05 at 06:45 AM.

Bad news: this means a weekend trip to Houston and an inability to play Civ in my part. If we coukd switch the timer off until Monday I would appreciate it.Spoiler
