    Default Tchotckes

    ...Or however they're spelled.

For those that don't know, I've heard it pronounced "Choch-keys", where "choch" rhymes with "watch".

    Um.... what?!

Care to elaborate? Are you even asking a question?

So, the point of the thread is to, what? Place you as an expert on the word tchotchkes? But an expert that doesn't know how it's spelled? Standard US pronunciation can be found here. But on forums, usually, spelling matters much more than pronunciation anyway.

If you're referring to the noise made by the tail of the yellow dragon in Page 57, take a closer look at the spelling. Or did I miss some other use of the word?

But yes, that phonetic example is how the word tchotches is pronounced in english.

Edit: Which is why, in the movie Office Space, it's funny that the restaurant where Jennifer Aniston's character works (Chotchkie's) requires pieces of flair.

(Sorry, but that's the only place in any pop culture where I figured people would've heard the correct pronunciation, but not necessarily realized it.)
