Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
Tyndall
"Right" he holds up a coin and speaks a word of magic. The coin lights up with a soft glow illuminating the scene. Casting it around so that everyone can get a good look at the camouflaged entrance he moves over to Lara and shines the light down the now-open trapdoor. If there is nothing visible he'll drop the coin down so that it lights up the bottom.DM: AgeOfWorms|SavageTide|TearingOfTheWeave|Northlands Saga|Grimmsgate

Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
Tyndall's light shines down the trapdoor and illuminates the shaft leading down and the rope dropping down as well. The light illuminates the slick sides of the shaft with old seaweed and smell of sea and salt. Locksley slides down the rope as Tyndall drops the coin down and landing softly on the old seaweed, rocks and broken bits of wood Locksley realises he's in a very small chamber with a barrl shaped tunnel some 5-10ft long leading back into the centre of the island but terminating a stout iron door, although there is a large brass key in the lock.

Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
Tyndall and Locksley look around carefully but neither really find anything conclusive. The fresh and unrotted nature of the rope however would suggest that someone has been here recently. Especially with the roted and old nature of the wooden shards and dried out seaweeds on the pit floor. Apart from the clumping sounds of your friends above you you cannot hear much else aside from the sounds of city and the whispering of the forest. Grimgor, ever alert looking about the surface can see nothing currently.

Tienne
Tienne does not climb ropes, not when it can be avoided. In the blink of an eye – a long blink – he disappears from the surface to reappear below ground with Locksley and Tyndall, to have a look around. "The door and the key seem awfully obvious. Does that mean it's a trap or that it's what we are supposed to do?" he whispers at the others. What would the Jade Ravens do, here?Last edited by Stegyre; 2016-11-18 at 06:18 PM. Tienne watches Lara's actions intently. Here is someone who knows what to do. He gazes up at the ceiling and then at the walls. Does the roof fall in? Do poison darts spring out from the door frame? He tenses, ready for anything. Ready to run away when the crap gets real.

Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
As Lara turns the key and forces open the door a wave of salt and decay hits her. In the light of the torch a dimly lit ancient smuggler's den with warped wooden supports and low barrel ceiling overhead. The smells is terrible with seaweed and a slime on the floor, bones of rats and the like scattered around and claw marks on the walls though what caused them is unsure. The room is 10ft wide as you come in from the side and 20ft to either side of you you can make out battered looking wooden doors.

Tienne
Nonplussed, Tienne watches Lara. Maybe she should open all the doors, he thinks. Remembering how she handles her great sword, however, he keeps his thoughts to himself. Someone has to go first, might as well be my turn. Tienne steps into the room and begins a search for trouble, checking the vaulted ceiling, as well as the shadows and slime around the floor.

Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
With all but the tough looking dwarf down in the caverns below the others push into the first of the barrel shaped caverns. Tyndall and Locksley look around noting the scratches and the tony skeletons of rats, parrots and fish all of which bears signs of being gnawed upon. Reaching the door to the right both Tyndall and Locklesy can hear the soudns of movement behind and what sounds like moaning.
Still outside the caves Grimgor can see and hear the echoes of his comrades and the flickering lights from the bottom of the shaft. Atop the surface its still dark and quiet although for the dwarf in his infravision he can see the flicker of insects and parrots. Thanks to Emperor Ing for the nice Avatar

Tienne
Tienne moves back to the entry chamber and from there reappears on the surface. "There's two more doors in the next chamber. I think we're moving on," he tells the dwarf. "Coming?"
Wouldn't want to go anywhere suspicious without the death-dealing dwarf. He disappears back down the hole. "Left?" he asks the others, figuring one door is as good as the other, and they will eventually try both.

Tyndall wrenches open the door to rescue "prisoners" but its not quite what he expected. The room beyon another barrel vaulted chamber of wet mould covered stone, puddles of sea water in the corners and seaweed in the corners. Sadly the moaning was not prisoners!

Re: DrK Savage Tide I IC
The party leap into action with efficient speed. Lara taking up a position by the door and near chopping the first zombie ni half as it shambles through the door, her blow truly inspired. A second zombie falls as a razor edged arrow from Amara flies true into its neck before Tienne's dagger tears the creatures arm off and the damage leaves it in-animate on the floor. The rest of them barrel into the room. The lead two tearing at Lara and Tienne as they climb over their fallen kin. Sadly Grimgor, Locklesy and Tyndall's blows go wide as the horde of undead flesh surges towards them.
