In a better series August's talk about how "justice and evil do not reside in light and dark, and perhaps it is simply love that is good." would be amazing. Instead it's just "you're explaining why the wizard with orgasm magic is mean" and it's...like, again, in a BETTER SERIES this would be interesting and good. Zeref's ultimate love is expressed by his total lack of care for his son, solely to keep him from dying, and when Mavis gives her love to him, he'll die due to the death curse.

That aside i actually though this chapter were decent, at times even good. The battle actually turned kinda cool, and i liked Augusts speach about how there were no good or evil in light or darkness.
The only thing that irks me, is the slight stupidity in Rakheids behavior. I mean, so his father newer showed him any love? Bo hoo.. we dont have count of how many FT members are orphans. Or in Laxus's case straight up attacked them.
But among the entire empire, and all of the spriggan, he could still not manage to find anyone else to forge an emotional connection to?

You know what the worst part of all this is, when they'finally get to face Acnologia, I bet Hiro will manage to ruin him as well.

It is a proven track record by now, he is really good at building up plots and characters, but beyond horrible to resolving them.

I thought he already floundered when he made Acnologia speak, but he managed to make even that good so...we'll see. It'd be really fitting of Fairy Tail to, after all this time, have an actually just solid ending. In the end pull a reverse Bleach and end satisfyingly, even if the lead up was bad.

Judging from how his magic works it's likely just light themed sense magic like the dominatrix demon's darkness themed sense magic. He just styles himself as holy due to the light and the whole "discovered it while being so sad he reached enlightenment".
