Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
when was it stated that kliks take atributes from what they eat? to my knowledge only the sword one had that, and that's only because it ate a cursed, talking sword. All the other Kliks are able to eat whatever positive they have and still stay the same.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
On this comic it says it gains specific strengths and weaknesses based on what it was attached to. So eating doesnt normally do it. However, there may be different effects for magical artifacts. Like how that one klik gained the ability to insult the guy because he ate a sword with that ability. In this comic."Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum"
Translation: "Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe."

I say that a lot, but I'm always fond of Thunt dungeons', traps, enigmas and stuff. Among other things.
Edit: Is it just me or is the bloody-hell-thing going away since they destroyed the flea demon?
I'd be a little sad if I had be right about the fact that using the axe for Good can still repair it.Last edited by Quild; 2016-12-15 at 07:21 AM.

It seems like the weapons that disappeared returned to the blue window. Perhaps each person can only take one?

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
Its also possible that since weird time warps and illusions have been a part of this dungeon we are seeing some other mystery to solve. Like they might have to place those weapons on the other side to unlock the door or something along those lines.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
A new comic and big news. Thunt has hired a colorist, and none less than Cheyenne Wright who does the coloring for Girl Genius.
He's promising updates every Monday for now. That's weekly updates! :O

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
Eh, he has promised this stuff before. In fact, didnt he have a colorist for awhile back in the day? Im happy sure, but im not getting my hopes up till I see at least a months worth of steady updates and no sign of burnout.

Regarding the comic itself, Herbert likes making Axe puns with his magic items, doesn't he?

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
I think he did have a colorist a while back, but as I recall that ended because the colorist couldn't keep up with enough speed and detail, or something along those lines.
I don't expect that to really be a concern with Cheyenne - the colorist from before was a relative novice and unknown, I think, and Goblins may have been his very first really significant attempt at professional work on a schedule. That colorist likely didn't know what he was getting into, and didn't have the skill at combining quality with speed to keep up while fitting it into his available time.
Cheyenne, meanwhile, has been coloring Girl Genius for years, if not a decade or more, doing 3 pages per week at a quality that would be highly satisfactory for Goblins. If he thinks he's got enough time to add 1 more page per week to his work load, he's got enough experience and context on it that I expect he can judge it correctly.
Or, to use Thunt's words:
Cheyenne is apparently made of art-magic and can colour pages faster than I can type the words “Cheyenne is apparently made of art-magic”.Last edited by Douglas; 2017-01-02 at 03:52 PM.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
True but that still relies on thunt getting his comics setup to be inked that fast. Like I said, im happy he is going for it, and I would love it if true, but im not going to get excited until its been awhile and he hasnt had to shut it down due to stress.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
Panels 1&6 look really great to me. Cool changes. And updating more often might allow him to pack less words in a single panel, which I think he has been doing to keep the pace faster.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
i know his wife Danelle (Girlfreind at the time) did colouring in the past, i know she at least did the orcs that were posessed by plants near the beginning, and possibly even up to Cheif fighting Kore. not sure though.
New page looks amazing though!Avy by Thormag

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
I was kinda afraid of the new colours, but it's great! Fits really well with Goblins.
I'm glad Thunt could reduce his workload, I hope he'll be able to draw 1 page a week now.
Did Goblins change forever now?
Regarding the page:
To bad the previous one wasn't shaded, especially for the corruption part. It seems that it was crawling away, and now it's coming back. Maybe it's not intended... Maybe it was a consequence of using the axe for destroying the Flea Demon. I'm still hoping that.
Not sure if MM is crying because of the pun or if it's tears of joy because they'll get all the loot.
I'm lost in translation about what the axe does. Could someone rephrase that for me?
I wonder if Fumble's staff is doing something again here or if you just need to "push" the items in the wall rather than grab them. I guess the later. It makes a lot of items. Is it Christmas for Goblins?Posting from France

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
SpoilerI'm not sure what it would have changed. Is it a fumble to have the pearl exploding? I doubt the pearl itself will fumble.
I have no clue how they're going out of this. Maybe the pearl is trolling.
Some of the items have serious downsides. Minmax would have loved the gloves.Posting from France

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
...Yeah, I'm going with the theory is that Herbert just wants to screw with the main characters as much as possible. I had my doubts when Kin's necklace got erased, but now I'm certain.
That being said, most of the items kinda... suck. Losing them isn't the problem; it's the fact that the Lol Pearl was meant to be the last one to be found, killing everyone just as they'd got everything out that's pissing me off.Cool elan Illithid Slayer by linkele.

Re: Goblins XVI: Corrupted to the Kore
I dont think there is a single item there that I would want to own short of the very first item they pulled out by accident. Maybe the coin and the amuletstalk. The echo glove sounds funny and could probably be useful in a caster fight, but I foresee way too many accidents that effect your own party. At least the amulet doesnt have a downside and could come in handy with bad guys who like to chat. The coin sounds like an easy way to lose every bit of money you have.
