She gets chained by the sudden bindings, the weapons dissipating.
"Aaaaaaargh! You idiot! The voices don't care about mortals! Neither Shinigami nor Hollows are safe! Your only needlessly endangering yourselves! I was trying to get to the Mortal World where its SAFE for us both!"
She doesn't struggle though, even if she looks a bit angry.

Seji turns to Kazuki and smiles a strained smile. "No thanks, Mr. Kazuki. A patient is just resisting treatment. Everything's fine." He then turns back to Narsica.

"Going to the Mortal World isn't safe either until you can control yourself. Your Hollow side will still want to attack civilians. The Mortal World has Shinigami too. And Hollows. I don't wither you or those little voices in your head would like Quincies intent on poking and prodding you, finding out how you exist without tearing yourself apart from the conflict in your Reiryoku. Nowhere is safe for you until you find out how to control yourself. And we can help you with that."

Nuala gives the man her earnest attention, looking at him directly for the first time. She seems to be weighing him, appraising his appearance and his words at the same time. Her eyes narrow the more she looks and listens, analyzing exactly why this hollow, unbidden, would offer her an opportunity of this kind. In her experience, most hollows weren't sophisticated enough to lay a subtle trap, but for that, one would need something to gain in the first place. Killing Nuala? It might be worth it, if they felt she was worth it.

Still, that didn't seem to be the case, here. Did she want to go on an adventure? No, not particularly. Certainly not at the behest of something who was as clearly deceptive as this strange hollow, regardless of which version she happened to be looking at. She glances at Escarabajo, who promptly excuses himself from the area. Nuala looks back at the stranger with his strange ways. "I might," she says cautiously, kicking her feet up onto the table at the same time. "If these haunts are as old as ya say they are..." she trails off and hmms, thinking of all the memories a place like that would possess. Trap or no, that is one tantalizing bait. "What'll it cost me?"

The man sighs dejectedly.

"There was a time when people wouldn't ask a price, they would just think of the opportunity and jump to the call of adventure. I miss those glorious days, I think we all do."

Well, probably not a "we" that is anywhere in this city, mind you.

"Fine, have at you. I have always traded in the greatest coin, wisdom. Tell me, what do you want, Nuala Birne, founder and leader of Nonessentia. What do you seek to find where I am leading you, and why?"

The man lifts himself onto the table with his arms as he speaks. Shutters clatter closed on every window of the library, shutters that did not exist a moment ago. The candlelights are snuffed by a wind. Only a radiance from nowhere casts flickering, overlapping shadows ringed by the colors of a prism. The brim of his hat hides the upper half of his face, leaving only his enormous grin visible.

Which granted, probably means he can't see anything above Nuala's neckline, but hey. By now she is pretty positive that this man is a lecher, or acts like one. Or both, when in history have these been mutually exclusive? Never.

Truly, the pageantry, the airs, this all is so... Clownish, a tasteless joke, a charade of cartoonish villainy, a play at devilishness. It is downright satirical.

If she stays silent with a blank look for a minute or so, this whole thing will honestly just look stupid.

Well, the question is still serious, of course. Can she tell this nameless jester the truth of her plans?

Seji turns to Kazuki and smiles a strained smile. "No thanks, Mr. Kazuki. A patient is just resisting treatment. Everything's fine." He then turns back to Narsica.

"Going to the Mortal World isn't safe either until you can control yourself. Your Hollow side will still want to attack civilians. The Mortal World has Shinigami too. And Hollows. I don't wither you or those little voices in your head would like Quincies intent on poking and prodding you, finding out how you exist without tearing yourself apart from the conflict in your Reiryoku. Nowhere is safe for you until you find out how to control yourself. And we can help you with that."

".......Fine. But just remember that there is a monstrous incomplete Hollow and a brainwashed zealous archer screaming in my head every second of every day to kill you all, and that this state of affairs is the better alternative to being a complete toy-soldier to a bunch of people who kidnapped and made me this way. Whom I call revenge dibs on by the way."
She was sure that the Hollow part of her was an Adjuchas and had grown out of such small morsels of soul like mortals, but whatever maybe they knew more?

Seji smiles. "Excellent! You'll make some progress yet. I hope you don't mind if I put you in prison for the safety of everyone else."

He then begins to walk back to the Monastery of the Ho-ou, the chained Narsica floating behind him. When he enters, he immediately walks over to Koutarou. "Excuse me, but would you mind directing me to the nearest high-security prison?"

Kazuki follows Seji and Narsica into the monastery. Or more accurately, walks in the same direction they do. When he spots his captain, he gives the man a keen salute, but his face betrays concern. Instead of saying anything, he watches the acting captain's antics, and silently takes notes. Eyebrows perked and his most patient expression on, he waits for his captain, who should not yet be discharged, and therefore not yet capable of performing duty tasks, to reply.

[The Great Library of Las Noches]

Nuala stares as the hollow grandstands, treating him to a few moments of silence after he finishes. Then she snorts, clapping at his antics. Of course, while everything about this said he wasn't a real threat, that was exactly why she remained wary. Just, in a less obvious way. She let her shoulders relax, and cracked a smile with a laugh, remembering to crinkle her eyes just a little bit. What a card. "Outstanding," she lauds at him. "Do ya rehearse, or didja come up with this one just fi me?"

While she speaks, Saltamontes returns from elsewhere, carrying a second zanpakuto, which he hands over to her. As soon as her skin touches scabbard, she suppresses a gasp. New memories flood into her mind, a lost connection never made is forged anew. Despite the distraction, she manages to keep her eyes on the jester, with his very strange act. "Aight, then. I'm collecting information on how zanpakuto are forged; I plan t' outfit my báirseacha with crafts o' similar quality."

"If you were going to have her arrested anyway, Seji-kun, you SHOULD be contacting Internal Security." Koutarou says with a heavy sigh. "IntSec's HQ is that way. Shouldn't you have an escort, in any case? We can't exactly have you getting injured under the current circumstances. For all we know things are about to get worse."

He turns to Kazuki. "Let me guess. You were on my way to see me, Kazuki?"

Masaru listened carefully as Jehoel spoke, and again took time to think over and measure his response.

"You are not wrong, Primera-san. Ultimately, death, for beings as us, is an erasure, an end. And the loss of the truths of these lives is saddening."

He looked at their surroundings, pondering the plants all around them.

"But ultimately, we all pass on. If we did not, nothing new could grow. It is the way of the Cycle. Eventually, when stories become legends become myths of old, new generations have arisen that, hopefully, are managing things better than those that came before. Fresh faces, ideas, they breathe new life in. Ultimately, that promise of a cycle of new life coming about is one of the things I fight for. It is not perfect, but it seems nothing in Existence is.

I would be lying if I said I do not fear death. But I have reached the point where I acknowledge it will happen one day."

He gives a humorless smirk.

"I'm simply going to try and put that day off as long as possible. And so long as I put it off, then there will be 2 beings that know the truth of Xue Huifang."

Jehoel allows his gaze, too, to move to the surrounding flora. Then, he breaks into a smile ever-so-slightly wider than his usual, more ambiguous expressions.

"Well said, Captain."

He looks Masaru in the eyes.

"This is the first era in the history of the modern Soul Society that would allow for an open conversation between a Hollow and a Shinigami. And I can think of a number of your predecessors who would never have allowed an exchange of this sort to occur even with the current peace in place. They would disapprove. But I would like to think that the world is better...managed...now than it was then."

Seji nods, blushing slightly in embarrassment. "No need for an escort, sir. I doubt she is strong enough to break free of her restraints."

He then briskly walks out of the building, the chained Narsica floating behind him. "Please try to understand, Miss Zoraida. I am simply incarcerating you to avoid you going berserk and ruining the peace we have built up."

"Ok.....Deal....but only on one condition:
Don't tell......wait who was it that was leader since the pact thing everyone was talking about before they left for Las Noches....not Dainichi....oh right! Jehoel Yurius! Don't tell him I'm here. He's scary. I don't want my voices attacking Sir Jormungand. I'm not with him. I don't think I would survive, no matter how much one of the most powerful Vastro Lordes in existence sounds like a good way to complete me...."
She yammers on, a bit out of it, her head wandering from side to side. As for going berserk....hm.....the new pact thing benefited her in that the Shinigami so far don't seem to be killing her, yet wasn't benefiting her in the freedom boat. So far. Which is an incredibly important boat all things considered. It makes a lot of decisions and the guys there have the most fun on weekends. Something to consider also, was the revenge thing. Got to get revenge on those other Hollow-Quincy guys who made her this way. They were somehow different from her. She thinks she'll call them Quincows. Quin-cows! Thats suitably mocking of their statue.

Seji continues walking on while Narsica babbles. To someone better at understanding people than Narsica, it would be obvious that he is... bored. His eyes are just beginning to glaze over when Narsica stops speaking.

"So... what's your condition? All you're really doing is... well, rambling. And Jehoel Yurius is only the de facto leader of Las Noches. He hasn't been officially elected, or whatever the Hollows do to decide their leader."

Seji continues walking on while Narsica babbles. To someone better at understanding people than Narsica, it would be obvious that he is... bored. His eyes are just beginning to glaze over when Narsica stops speaking.

"Pretty sure the way we decide it is a classic "Strongest guy defeats the previous guy, he is promoted to the new king of everything because we don't want to die." about as official as it gets, so I Jehoel practically clinched that one. He has my vote until I can vote for myself.

My condition is two voices in my head. One is Hollow and wants to kill: Shinigami, Quincies and pretty much everything and eat Hollows to become complete. One is Quincy and wants to kill: Shinigami, Hollows and the Soul King. They argue. I suspect they are there because I don't have a Zanpakuto. Arrancars do not have this problem, because the Shinigami's Zanpakuto nature. My theory is that your Zanpakuto spirits are stabilizing in nature, because they guide and teach you to be better. Thus this Zanpakuto-ness somehow stabilizes an Arrancar, completes them in some way I do not understand. I on the other hand-"
Suddenly she tries to break free shouting and struggling
"KILL ALL SHINIGAMI! EAT ALL HOLLOWS! I SHALL PURGE BOTH TO KEEP HUMANITY SAFE!"
-have these two guys. I am not an Arrancar. I'm a Disparar. The natures of Quincy and Hollow do not stabilize the same way as the natures of Shinigami and Hollow. They are at war in my head, they are not helpful, and I don't think I am stable or complete. You could say that I might have spirits that are the opposite of a zanpakuto, as in they are broken, unhelpful and not apart of me at all and probably do nothing but wreck my mind.

But isn't there a rule against self-diagnosis in medicine? All that is just my theory."

"Yes, there is a rule against self-analysis in medicine. I figured that out the hard way. Anyways, neither of us have absolutely any idea what to do. I don't think anyone else has any idea what to do either. The only thing I can come up with at the moment, and this might not even be a good idea, is trying to sort of exert your dominance over the voices in your head. That way, they're too scared to try to take over, because they know you'll mentally punish them when you take back control. Just an idea. Probably not a very good one."

"By the way, we should be reaching the prison soon."

She then goes to sleep. All that transformation and making weaponry and running really tired her out. However she did not go to sleep without a reason...

She finds herself in her mindspace. A strange version of herself wearing a full Quincy uniform with no signs of being a hollow walks up to her.
"Greetings. I am the Quincy part of your powers, let us go-"
Narsica punches Quincy-Narsica in the face then slams her into the ground while taking a look around. Wow her mind-space was WRECKED. Wreckage, destroyed buildings and ships everywhere, a sky full of red cracks, jagged uneven ground, mismatched areas, everything was just plain screwed up.
"Wow. My mind is a mess. Guess the doc was right about me being insane or or whatever. But no matter, I think this place can fixed. Starting with you, you foreigner."
"I-"
Narsica stomped her foot on the Quincy-self's face.
"Did I give you permission to speak!? No. Listen. We're going to have a very one-sided conversation, where I demand you teach how your powers work better, and you, like a good little fragment of me, obeys and spills so that I can get out of prison quick with better powers ok? Or I'll....I dunno, its my mind, I'll imagine up some twisted away to torture you. But one thing is for sure: my mind, my rules, my rule is that you both obey or get scuppered in the gizzard.
"What does that even mean-"
Narsica stomps harder.
"I said talk!"
And so begins a very strange and uncomfortable conversation...

These thoughts, and others, go through his head during the walk back.

"Good. I'll be keeping that mind for later. By the way, wheres the Hollow-me?"

"TIME TO DEVOUR! TIME TO SLAUGHTER!"
Suddenly a hollow in the form of Narsica's hollow form before altered by Quincy powers: white armor, four arms with claws like swords and bat wings, with red winds flowing around her.
"Thats why."
Narsica suddenly jumps away and the Quincy-Narsica dodges as well as the Hollow-Narsica fires a Cero at them from her mouth.
"Ok, you both obey me right now and stop fighting each other, or I kick your asses!"
"Not going to work. Who do you think is giving you all that reason, rationality and freedom of choice you currently have? ME. I've been fighting to keep that beast from overwhelming you again!"
"Yeah right, your just as crazy in a different way."
"Argue all you want, but if you want to keep these powers under control, we need to subdue the inner Hollow at the very least! If your not going to join me, at least form a truce on the side of reason so that we can beat this one there!"
"Fine, fine. You got a deal."
Narsica says and forms a red energy blade. the Quincy-Narsica draws her solid bone-white cutlass and pistol.
"Right. I'll take the front, you try to attack from the back. Three two one, break!"
They charge forward.

[Seireitei; Main Senkaimon Park]

To the southwest, a blip of Shinigami spiritual pressure. Only around unseated level, but they should be able to open a Senkaimon to get back home.

Five minutes later...

Senshi leaps down from a rooftop behind the red-haired Shinigami whom he sensed previously. The Shinigami starts, spinning around and drawing his sword.

"Gah! Who are you? Stay back, I have a sword and I know how to use it!"

Senshi puts his hands up. "Uhh... I'm Senshi Hoshigaki, 4th seat of the Combat Divi..."

Red-haired Guy interrupts. "Senshi-sama? I'm Ricky, I'm in your squad!"

Senshi is... confused. "Uh... yeah. Hi... Ricky. Yeah... umm... I know you?" He says it like a question, frantically searching through his mind for someone named Ricky. Anyway, Ricky, I need a Senkaimon opened, to get home to the Gotei. My Zanpakuto is missing, and this weird replacement sword isn't working." Senshi waves the strange black sword around.

Ricky, confused, agrees and opens a Senkaimon. Senshi steps through, Ricky looking after him curiously.

As soon as Senshi sets foot back on Soul Society's soil, there's a strange... nudge inside his head. Like some inner voice or intuition telling him to go visit a hospital right now. The East Gate hospital, to be specific. Why? That's hard to say. It's like that awkward feeling when you know you were supposed to do something, but can't remember what it was.

Huh. Going to the hospital seems like a great idea. Probably have him checked for, like, amnesia or something. Besides, when has trusting the strange voice in your head ever gone wrong?

Senshi walks through the Soul Society towards the East Gate Hospital. When he gets there, he waits outside the door for a moment, bracing himself. For all he knew, he's been away for years.

Las Noches

Everyone in Las Noches feels the wave of Reiryoku pass over it. A mere annoyance for all the Espada, it is a horrible, constricting pressure on the weakest Hollows, like lying underneath a boulder. Exactly who is causing it is unknown, but whoever it is, it's powerful.

Just outside Las Noches, the source of the Reiryoku is confused and kinda annoyed. "Hello! Would anyone in there mind telling me what exactly this place is? I just passed through here a hundred years ago and there was nothing here!"

[Frozen_Feet]

[Outside East Gate Hospital]

As Senshi waits, his eyes are drawn towards a cold storage unit separate from the main hospital building. Normally, there'd be nothing worth of note there, but now, for some reason, two members of the hospital security are guarding it. They look nervous and frustrated.

Why's that? What's in the freezer? Wouldn't it be nice to know? The voice inside Senshi's head starts nudging him again.

Senshi looks back and forth between the hospital and the freezer, agonizing over the decision. He looks back and forth as he considers his choices. Check-up? Or freezer? Check-up? Or freezer?

Eventually making up his mind, Senshi walks over to the freezer and the guards. "Hey guys! Just wondering, but what's in that freezer?"

[Frozen_Feet]

The guards glance at each other, then at Senshi. The one on the left speaks:

"Remember that Hollow outbreak some time ago? A dude dragged on of those things here, saying he wanted to keep it as a pet. A pet! Can you believe?"

"It was pretty badly torn up", the one on the right adds. "Had both of its arms severed. I dunno... we don't want to heal it, but boss said IntSec might want to interrogate it. So we stuck in the freezer so it won't die when no-one's looking."

The left guard shakes their head. "The coppers keep dragging their feet, though. Something about a prison having been blown up. It's the first time I ever heard of that. So we're stuck guarding it before the higher-ups make up their minds."

There's a sting in Senshi's mind - like he's heard this being discussed before. Something about how convenient opponents Hollowd are... you can just tear their arms off or freeze them solid and no-one cares...

... wouldn't it be a mercy to just kill it? Purify it? Release the innocent soul within? Huh, Senshi-boy?

Azuma's frown deepens as Setsurou speaks, it is a good thing that the Tsuyoi arrive when they do. They are allowed in, and Azuma leaves the talk to Momoka at that point. It is her family after all.

The Tsuyoi representatives find the known terrorist Kishi clothed in noble finery (well, a decent kimono at least). And the ex-convict Kobayashi Momoka, in all of her tattooed, dreadlocked and pierced glory, along with Setsurou and Azuma.

"Greetings, honorable representatives of the Tsuyoi clan of nobles. Might I invite you to have a seat?"

Senshi mulls over what the guards said, a strange expression on his face. "Huh. That's strange. Why would you beat up, chop the arms off, then freeze your pet, of all things. Seems kinda cruel to not just purify it."

"Anways, bye."

Senshi heads back towards the hospital, preparing to go through the door.

I am still uncertain the terms our nations have agreed to are the most proper. However, I am also pragmatic enough to understand why decisions were made. And self-aware enough to acknowledge my own views may not be entirely correct. Certainly I'm more self-aware than the...individual...who recently troubled the Commander."

His gaze drifts skyward.

"Of course....said individual isn't really alone..."

[Frozen_Feet]

[Outside East Gate Hospital]

Senshi mulls over what the guards said, a strange expression on his face. "Huh. That's strange. Why would you beat up, chop the arms off, then freeze your pet, of all things. Seems kinda cruel to not just purify it."

"Anways, bye."

Senshi heads back towards the hospital, preparing to go through the door.

The guards shrug at Senshi's words. "I know, right? Have a nice day."

As Senshi turns his back to the cold storage unit, there's an awkward feeling in his head - as if he'd stumbled upon a crowd laughing at a joke where he was the punchline, but not knowing what the joke itself was, so he can't tell if he ought to be offended or laugh with them.

He gets distracted from any such thoughts by the hospital receptionist. "Good day. How can I help you, mister...?"

"Well, uhhh... What date is it? I think I've been missing for a while, but I can't remember how long or what happened during the time I was missing. So yeah."

[Frozen_Feet]

The receptionist gives Senshi a look. "Uh huh. Sounds like we really ought to get you checked up. The date is..."

Turns out it is late spring and Senshi was away for a week. He was listed as being "on vacation" and wasn't scheduled to return before tomorrow. In a brief medical check-up, it's revealed Senshi has a barely-healed cut across his arm and torso, bandaged with strange, elastic bounds. He also has a bruise on his side, making the nurse worry about broken ribs.

The wounds don't bleed or hurt anymore, but the nurse decides to use Kaido (Healing arts) on Senshi regardless. However, their Reiryoku is not great enough to restore Senshi's. They run out of energy before managing to mend Senshi's injuries.

That's odd. When did Senshi get this strong?

"Well, Hoshigaki-san. It looks like you've gotten yourself in a fight. Do you remember anything about who the assailant was?"

Well that's technically an easy question. Senshi's last clear memory before waking up in these strange clothes is saving that Plus in Rome from a Hollow. But he doesn't remember getting injured, nor does he remember which day of his vacation that fight happened. Was it the first? Or the last? That event is surrounded by static in his mind, as if it was the only stretch of land in his sight within a great snowstorm.

Senshi sits back, thinking. "Well, there was a Hollow that I was fighting, but that can't be it. They didn't even touch me, so I must have gotten my injuries otherwise. I'd love to tell you how, but I honestly can't remember anything else. I'd actually say the Hollow fight was the last thing I remember."

[Frozen_Feet]

"That's worrying. Short-term memory loss usually indicates massive head trauma. I'll have to contact Seji-taichou on what procedures we should continue with", the nurse explains.
