    Default Planar Soldiers of Mystra

    Here's a kind of super-soldier that I haven't seen previously.

Suppose an Initiate of Mystra uses Genesis to create a Static Timeless(magic) Dead Magic demiplane.

    To create the soldiers you:
    1. Make the protosoldier resident to the plane. It's a little bit unclear what's needed to qualify as a 'resident' of the Static demiplane. Growing up there should work, but this is a slow process. Maybe planes have a naturalization process? Plausibly, if you have lived most of your life on the Static demiplane then you count as a resident. Something like Contingency Last Breath cast by an Initiate of Mystra off the plane followed by suicide on the plane resets lifespan so as to make one resident in short order at the cost of 500gp.
    2. Have the resident protosoldier leave the plane (or enter the plane with Planar Bubble in effect for the material plane).
    3. Cast whatever other spells you want to be in effect on the protosoldier.
    4. Cast Planar Bubble on the new planar soldier.

Since the plane is Timeless[Magic], the spells will remain in effect perpetually including Planar Bubble itself.

Since the plane is Static, the soldiers, as residents cannot be affected by "visitors". Nor can their possessed items be affected.

Since the plane is Dead Magic not even Planar Bubble bypasses Static (unless cast by another Initiate of Mystra).

These benefits apply even when off plane. Applied to otherwise low-level soldiers, this makes them incredibly tough: they are unaffected by everything (spells, physical attacks, etc...) and have an effective AMF with a 10' radius.

    They can be dealt with:
    1. Indirectly by blocking their path with nonmagical materials, diplomacy, etc...
    2. The only way to affect the soldier (or possessions) directly is to suppress the Static trait which can only be done via Planar Bubble, and even then only by an Initiate of Mystra due to the Dead Magic trait.

Why? That's for a DM to decide, but note that with the feat Heretic of the Faith and Mystra's special case for Mystryl's alignment, every alignment except Chaotic Evil is allowed.

How? Some unusual spells are needed to make this work. They can be accessed indirectly via a Ring of Spell Storing and friendly Wizard or Druid or more exotically using a generic spellcaster or Archivist with a prestige class requiring a patron deity that can be Mystra.

    ExFighter: Immunity to Wizard
Stutter Caster: Eliminate all spell defenses (SR, Save, AC).
The Clockwork Wizard: All spells in no time.

It looks like it would be an .... interesting high level challenge. About psionics though? Couldnt they use a level of ardent to get the Magic mantle?

It may not need to be high level. If a fighter 1 is a Planar Soldier of Mystra, it's not truly threatening to a party of level 5 characters, but it is not easily defeated either.

The biggest problem I see is that Mystra is too good. Maybe this is a challenge for an evil party or maybe the clause about honoring older alignments means the Lawful Evil branch of the church can be a real adversary.

I'm not following. How does that help?

Very nice! Maybe put Heretic of the Faith on there to allow for code of conduct violation and NE alignment? Mystra may not like someone conquering the planes with an army of supersoldiers otherwise.
Have you had enough of unreasonably high LA's and unplayable monsters in 3.5? Then check out the LA-assignment thread! Don't hesitate to give feedback!

It's a good idea, thanks. Added to the OP.
