I'll participate, if you ever figure out how you're doing the swap..

We considered doing something like this back while the boards were down during the switch to the new forum... In the days of the old board, when you could change display names. However, our plan was ruined when we discovered the new forum only supported one name.

Alright, we have a few options then. I'll leave the vote to you guys...

1. We use the posting method that we have going. Whoever posts next loans you their avvie, and then the last person gets mine. We'd create a new thread for this in which you can only post once.

2. We each contribute an avatar and then throw them into a pool in which each person gets one randomly selected by the dice.

3. We each contribute an avatar and it becomes a first-come first-served list of avvies.

4. We give each person free-reign on who to trade with. Time consuming, but significantly less random.

5. We all contribute an avvie and then the dice roller chooses one we all use.

6. Same as (4), but voting instead.

7. We use one of the first four options, and then save one of the previous two for a future week called either Role Model Week or Stalker Week, in which we all use one person's avvie.

Heheh...avvie sounds funny.

I think 4 is out...because we would end up choosing those we know best and some would be left out.

1 would be good with a new thread, but that's assuming we can each manage to only post once...

I would vote for 2. Everyone post who wants to participate, then choose an avvie to throw into the pool, with a dice-roller selection process. Everyone has an equal chance of getting an avvie this way.

Having said all this...I think that maybe it should go into SMBGs...it seems to be headed in that direction...

Well, I was torn between the two. Here is where all the other "Weeks" have gone. There, it's a slightly better fit because it's a game. I figure a little structure in FB never hurt anyone, but if one of the mods feels the need to move it, I'm okay with that, but I think we'll lose a lot of people...though we may gain even more.

Either way, it'll need a new thread for sign-ups.

I want to see if it should actually go there before I post a new thread in the SMBG place. I'd rather not create confusion and then find out too late that I've tanked the week over which forum this should be in.

I'm all in favor of 2 or 3.

Points in favor of each:

2. Randomosity (like strategery, but random) is good when the goal of the week is to mess with people's minds a bit.

3. I, for one, welcome the new One Board Avatar.
