Phrases of the Order irl
I couldn't quite find the proper terminology to describe this in a title, so here goes:
Are there certain words or phrases that you use now as a result of seeing it in OotS?
I found myself curious about this possibility after I caught myself saying "something such as that" when trying to be vague, much like Vaarsuvius in 667. Has anyone else found themselves saying something as a result of this comic?R.I.P. Wrecan, he was a true organizer and a gentleman.

Re: Phrases of the Order irl
I've found myself adapting Roy's "Let's call [X] 'Plan A'", where [X] was 'surviving until dusk' versus Tarquin's army. It's just a really funny thing to say in any hectic situation where you're still deciding what to do.

I've definitely caught myself singing about tasks I need to do, Elan-style. "Wash, wash, wash, wash the dishes in the kitchen." Etc.

Re: Phrases of the Order irl
Backstory: I'm in a Minecraft hunger games arena facing against a few other people. I'm just wandering around when I see someone checking out a chest.
Me (in chat): "@[player name, I forget what it was]: SNEAK ATTACK, B****!"
The player hated me for about a month after that, as I knocked him down a cliff and he died from the fall.Last edited by Black Socks; 2016-09-21 at 03:39 PM.

I sometimes respond to "Are you ready?" with "No, but I don't see the passage of time improving the situation."

I don't know if this qualifies as 'real life', but in my gaming group it's basically a requirement to announce rolled 4s as kindly as possible.

Re: Phrases of the Order irl
It's been ten years since this happened, but my group used to have a superstition that when you called out "Twenty CAMELOT" you would roll a 20. On one occasion I really needed a 20 and called it out, and, as you would expect, rolled a 20.
Now, we used the "instant kill" variant rule from the DMG, where if you roll a 20 on a critical hit confirmation roll, you get to roll for an instant kill. So I called out "Twenty CAMELOT" again, and, of course, it worked once more.
This time - and I don't know what went through my head, with so much on the line - I decided to quote Elan while rolling, and called out "I GOT A 4!"
Naturally, it was indeed a 4.

"I wouldn't touch your skinny uptight ass with a standard-issue ten-feet pole, you overbearing, self-righteous bitch".
... Okay, no, I don't actually use that one But it's still awesome.
I did recently say "who could resist the siren song of aw, c'mon?". Also, for some reason, I'm obsessed with "I do not care to linger where tragedy visited a friend". Thankfully, I've only had the occasion to use it ironically.Avatar by Mr_Saturn

I've used "I think I just failed a spot check" many times when I can't find something that my wife shows me is out in plain sight. (We call that male pattern blindness in my house.)

I've found several occasions to say, "What is this [country/continent] you speak of? I have never heard of it."
Generally while discussing the ethnicity of a fictional character from a series where Earth does not exist.

Re: Phrases of the Order irl
One phrase I like a lot, despite not getting much use of it outside this forum, is "despite many setbacks". (page 2, panel 6) Well, it's not very distinctive, but I always get a chuckle out of remembering that panel whenever I use it.
