The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
With the Brick Awards Run-Off, 392 was declared the highly contested Golden Brick, and 63 strips were left with no votes whatsoever, after two entire tournaments. After a third and fourth tournament, 6 strips are presented that have never had a vote cast for them. We're here at the bottom of the bottom of the barrel to find the most ignored bricks. They cry out - "Love me, please!". I give you the Ultra-Brick Awards.
We're continuing the single vote rounds. Each round consists of a single vote. This round is still a vote for the most-favorite! Please bold your votes, like this. The winner of that vote is declared a Fools-Golden Brick - no further voting needed. Any bricks simply move onto the next round. Until we get down to less than 4 bricks. In the very likely event that this ends with no bricks, the strip(s) with the fewest votes will be declared Super-Bricks, and in the event of multiple super-bricks, a final vote of least-favorite will determine the Ultra-Brick. So without further ado, I present to you the Ultra-Brick Awards:
This is Round 3 and in this round there are 6 bricks remaining. This round will consist of a single vote! The lowest strip remaining is 528 and the highest strip remaining is 902.
902 - Mr. Sandman, Give Me a Scream
792 - Animal Instincts
528 - The Ghost Screamer
579 - What They Need is a Writ of Habeas Corpus
586 - No Encounter is an Island Unto Itself
749 - Savings and Trust
Voting Closes at 10:00 am PDT, 11/22/2016

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
Ah, the proverbial bottom of the barrel :P It's easy to see why these strips ended up here -- they're not bad as such, but they are transitions in between more interesting / tense / awesome strips. There's very little in any of them to vote for. Still, #528 has Niu in it, and there are not enough strips in the corpus that do.

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
I woke up today with a migraine, so I know just how Haley felt. On the strength of that alone, I'll go with 749. Also, I love the wordplay between her and Elan, and V's calculations.

792 for the caster battle, including the amusing SR line.

749 for what all it's setting up. But yeah, none of these are great or terrible, just...transitions.

Torn between the verbosity of 579 and the caster battle of 792. Ah, whatever: Blackwing for the win! 792

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
And we have a single Super-Brick.
Or at least until I cast my vote. Who am I kidding? I can't vote against generic soldier. While 749 may steal the Fool's Golden Brick for Round 3, the Ultra-Brick is 586 - No Encounter is an Island Unto Itself!

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
Well...it's all over now.
586 is unremarkable and fragmented enough that it is certainly suited to being a brick. And I think a lack of favourite characters and memorable lines is the final nail in its ultra-brick coffin.
So what exactly are we all supposed to vote for next?

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
Well, I did have it saved just in case we went into another round... I could pull out Intermission 3 tomorrow if anybody is interested.

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
So that's it? It's over? #586 is officially the least-loved strip in the entire comic?

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
There really isn't a contest. Intermission 3 is simply the best. But I can pull that together.
How about here

Re: The Ultra-Brick Awards. Round 3!
It had a double transition though. I don't think that's been done in any other strips. We went from one battle, through 8 panels, and into a second battle. I dunno if it's just Elan's laws of using backstory to explain things later taking effect, but I think that would have been done better as a simple recap then making the strip to explain it and transition. BUT, we had to get Elan and Therkla off the island for the tragic scene of Therkla's death.
