Re: Radikalskippy's Random Banter #85 of lost ideas and where to find them...
For that matter, I'm surprised Rawhides post wasn't, yaknow, not there. What interest is the mad ramblings of the weak in the view of such godly creatures? I don't think he knows either. He's a flowerpot. Which makes typing DIFFICULT. Hence the surprise.

Re: Radikalskippy's Random Banter #85 of lost ideas and where to find them...
Thing's've been kinda rough lately trying to find a job, and money's getting a little tight. Then last night, I was in a car accident on the way home from work. I'm ok, just a nasty bruise from the seat belt, and the tops of my legs from the steering wheel, but we don't know about the truck yet.
It was the other driver's fault, however, MN is a no-fault state. We're not sure yet if this means we will be able to get their insurance to pay the cost of fixing our truck.
Then we found out that our insurance coverage on our truck did not include collision coverage. And it won't cover a rental car. We have these for our car, but not the truck...
So...things do not seem to be going very well right now. I had to miss 8 hours of my internship today that I have to find time somewhere to make up now...
*sigh*

They had the book.
They had the movie.
They had the musical-on-a-soundtrack.
Now, experience the sounds...
the sights....
the being-dissolved-by-a-heat-ray's....
Of a live action, real time War of the Worlds Play.
(PS, to anyone who doesn't already have the Musical cd, I do. It's SO FRAKKING AWESOME ON A TOASTY BUN THAT IS ITSELF, MADE OF AWESOME (but toasted.))
Rawhide, for the first (no, second...wait, third...fourth...goddamnit, I wish I didn't agree with that, but I do...and then there was that thing...and that time...Goddamnit.) time I find myself agreeing with you.

I still have the original vinyl album ! An excellent musical that was far ahead of its time and has not dated one bit.

Also, to anyone who has watched the movie: You must immediately forget everything that Hollywood has spewed over you. The musical version is completely different and much closer to the original.
P.S. If you want to listen to my favourite song of all time, go here and select "Forever Autumn" from the drop down box in the music player at the top, its second in the list.

....Me?
(PS, we HAD the vinyl copy. But all our Vinyl was destroyed in The Great Spontaneous Vinyl Breakage Week of our ENTIRE LIVES, whereupon vinyl broke pretty much as soon as it was impossible to get any more.
And, oh god, SUCH a good musical. Beautiful, amazingly stylish, unpretentious, british! Not dated, not bad, not overdone. Just perfect.)

Re: Radikalskippy's Random Banter #85 of lost ideas and where to find them...
I've just discovered the best and simplest recipe for rum balls.
WARNING: As the balls are not baked after adding the rum, they are alcoholic and eating enough could get you drunk...
Rum Balls
Ingredients:
1x Dark fruit cake
White chocolate designed for melting/cooking
Snakes
Rum
Method:
Break and crumble the dark fruit cake up into a bowl
Mix in 1/3 of a cup of rum and stir
Roll the mixture into balls and place in small paper patty cake plates if you have them or on greaseproof/baking paper
Chop a few snakes up into tiny pieces, for Christmas or Christmas in July use green and red
Melt the white chocolate
Pour the white chocolate over the balls
Stick the snake pieces to the chocolate while it is still runny
Place in fridge until it is set
I have a plate in the fridge right now, would anyone like to sample one?

Just one question there Rawhide. What kind of snakes are the best? I imagine rattlers would be too stringy. Maybe something like a gopher snake?

Go figure. Wikipedia tells me that snakes are native to Australia.
