"Well," he starts "I was told it should be back in a few days. If not, I will need to find a new name. Maybe ifrit can help me with that when I need to."

[Recaiden]

"Oh, well if you think it'll be back so soon, that's different. Good luck!"
Anchor smiles in a way that's hopefully encouraging.
"I'm going to go find a cabin to stay in. Where are you living, while you're at the campground?"

[Salix's Sapling]

Tuskfang walks around the snow wall, sniffing around for Salix's scent. The dryad isn't here, but that just means he has to look for her! And he likes looking for things and people. It could only get better if Cern and Gwydion were here to help him look. He peeks into the entrance slowly.

[Salix's Sapling]

And Salix is... not there. The only sign of her is a few of her stray leaves, wilted by the cold. The search continues. But where could she be? It may be cold, but Tuskfang can catch her scent. She went off toward some of the cabins!

[Reinholdt]

That'd be a working relationship. "Right. Uh, yes. We are." Cerridwen finds a nice patch of floor to look at before busying herself with organizing the cabinet unnecessarily.

[Morty]

[Salix's Sapling ==> Cabins]

Tuskfang's tail wags excitedly. He waits for his mother to catch up, then toddles off in the direction of the scent. Reelshka is in lookout for tracks in the snow that might belong to Salix, or for more leaves. This way she'll be able to point Tuskfang in the right direction.

"Oh, well if you think it'll be back so soon, that's different. Good luck!"
Anchor smiles in a way that's hopefully encouraging.
"I'm going to go find a cabin to stay in. Where are you living, while you're at the campground?"

"I got a cabin here as well." he says. "if you need help to rearange the furniture I can do that."

"Well, it would be easier with another person, if you don't mind helping."
Anchor smiles and heads off towards the lakefront and the cabins there, to find an unoccupied cabin/room/bunk.

Well there's not much sign of her. She doesn't shed leaves that frequently (even in the winter). Tuskfang will sniff his way around one cabin in search of her, and he may come across something. A little dryad doll wrapped in a regular sized scarf. That's Salix's, isn't it? It smells like her. But where's Salix? They're up against the wall of the cabin, but there's no sign of her. Reelshka might notice that the stack of wood that was up against the wall of the cabin has been half knocked over. Hmm...

[Zefir]

"Well, it would be easier with another person, if you don't mind helping."
Anchor smiles and heads off towards the lakefront and the cabins there, to find an unoccupied cabin/room/bunk.

"I just offered it and if it got to much I can allways call for bonies." he says and takes another big bite of his sandwich. "Whifh won woulf you tafk?"

Well, after consulting the first post and finding that it's hopelessly out of date, Anchor makes her way to [Cherry Cabin] and sets about unpacking her belongings. Which is to say, she sets down her backpack near the door to the chosen empty-seeming room. There! Now she's moved in.

"This one should do. Now, let's move the bed over to that wall..."
Anchor sets to moving things around, and it doesn't seem like she needs much help.

Tuskfang fusses about, trying to spot the dryad, before his mother points the knocked-over stack of wood to him. Then he toddles over there to examine it.

"Excellent. Thank you." Cass will start gathering her stuff up to leave.

[Infirmary]

Cerridwen will continue to organize the cabinet, letting Cass get her things and exit. She'll wait a few minutes for Geneviève to pop in, then stick her head out the Infirmary door to see if she's still hanging about if she hasn't. Mostly just to tell her Cass is in perfect health. Not really much of a report, but that should finish the job up and Cerridwen can go back to whatever it is she actually does. She suspects the action is frivolous in the first place as Cass will probably tell Geneviève that on her way out as it is, but better to make sure for communication's sake.

Tuskfang won't find anyone there. Where did she go? When he's looking around he hears a faint giggle from... up? That's it, though.

The man just looks confused. I might have missed it, but how does Anchor look?

"Ehh..." he starts. "Are you a summoning?" He asks this question quiet a lot and should know the answer already.

[Morty]

Tuskfang cranes his neck upwards, trying to spot who is giggling up there. He walks in circles, quite agitated. Good thing Reelshka is here, or he might try climbing. Reelshka herself tries to examine the place more thoroughly, so she can point her son in the right direction.

[Recaiden]

The man just looks confused. I might have missed it, but how does Anchor look?

"Ehh..." he starts. "Are you a summoning?" He asks this question quiet a lot and should know the answer already.

Yeah, I think that was a post or two before she approached the nameless summoner.

She's a human woman who has big Grey eyes with epicanthic folds and rather tanned skin. She's got black hair cut short. She's a little shorter than average, but looks solidly built. Her facial expression is usually nervous. High cheekbones and a small pointed nose.
She's wearing white riding trousers and steel-toed boots, a short pink tunic over long white sleeves, a belt with a dozen things hanging from it, a warm-looking dark red cloak, a pistol on each hip and a greatsword in its sheath. Her shadow doesn't quite follow her movements exactly, and sometimes seems to have claws or a tail.

"A summoning? I guess you could say that, yes."
That's one way to describe what Phoebe and Caroline did, really, although she probably isn't exactly like the Ifrit or Carbuncle that he's summoned before.

[Cabins]

They might catch the briefest glimpse of a brown face and green eyes before it vanishes from sight with a noticeable scurrying sound. Then there's the patter of steps from above and a yelp. "Eep!" A muffled thump can be heard from the far side of the cabin.

[The Island]

At first, it looks and sounds as though a piece of the sky has fallen! A great shape, dark and twisting, tumbles from a nascent morning. In a cool moment's breath, it sprouts from the blue and gold like a spot of black mold, and in the exhalation it plummets to earth like a thunderstrike. It lands, quite luckily, upon the mound at the lake's center, though it does so with meteoric force.

The land shakes and heaves...


Upon that lonely island, beyond the shore, a track of earth and torn brambles as broad as a country road lies decimated beneath the wary eyes of dawn. In contempt of this glorious beginning, one particularly hideous ending thrusts himself up from the pile of overturned earth at the track's end.

Dirt and chips of rock slough like falling water from the back of this homeless horror. His repugnant form would burst a woodland cottage from within, so magnanimous a size does he boast... and surely could he tear one down, never minding the countless castles and keeps that have fallen the very same way.

The giant wears a suit of what was once fine armor. Burst now and broken, it clings to him with a desperate strength, particularly around his wagon-sized middle... and in the fearsome helm he wears, both quite intact compared to the ragged condition of his remainder. From within the entity's uncoiled rings of steel vambrace and dirty, dented banded-mail, there sprouts a forest of soft orange feathers. Indeed, they travel up his spine, growing more numerous toward the skull and bursting from the concentric rings of gleaming metal to quiver with lively malice. They sprout from the back of his evil helmet like blades of shuddering grass stained with blood.

To speak of that helm, as long as a man is tall: it is smithed in a distinctly predatory shape... that being the upper hemisphere of a massive buzzard's skull, the savage curves, the hook of it's beak. The helm's eyes are hidden with bulging, pock-marked eyeguards, so coated with grime and rust that it's a wonder he can see out of them at all.

The feathered troll is not merely cursed with the countenance of a vulture. His arms have doubled or tripled in length, each one as long from shoulder to talon as a city bus, and they hang heavy with the greasy black feathers of a buzzard's pronounced wings. It gives him a lopsided, gangly gait... though the predatory, apelike lunge with which he throws himself forward is anything but clumsy. The way he begins to move forward creates a deep, shuddering dread: man, the biped, reduced to the angular, tugging gait of a thing that crawls on it's belly. Feathers, freshly un-stuck by the fall from the heavens, tumble from his back and his arm-wings wherever he goes.

He gives a pair of awkward, dancing hops as he turns this way and that, felling a tree with a single accidental kick. His wings do still end in hands... though only three fingers have they, and they are tipped with wicked claws. Clutched in these reptilian paws, smashed against the earth, are two weapons: the first a two-pronged poker or trident, long and riddled with bumps and imperfections. It's head glows like a weapon fresh from the forge. In the other hand, there is a carving knife of improbable, impossible size, rusted and pitted with age, though no less sharp for it.

"Hhhnnn... Heiress..." There rises a great moan, spilling from the dirty, distended human mouth hanging from beneath that ominous metal beak. It breaths a gust of pale mist into the air, head raised. "Heiress!" His gleeful laugh echoes in the vacuum of sanity's long absence.

He seems to be seeking the other he fell with. For the projectile that landed upon the isle was two beings, not one, struggling as they fell... and the beast-man's foe has gone missing! Landed elsewhere, perhaps, or recovering from the impact. One must watch and see.

Tuskfang gasps and toddles quickly to the other side of the cabin. Reelshka follows suit. She knows Salix is tougher than she looks, but it's still concerning.

They'll find Salix on her back half embedded in a snowbank just beneath the eaves of the cabin. Reelshka might be observative enough to see that the eavestrough above her is very loose. The young dryad looks fine, though. The snowbank was big and mostly soft and she hadn't leapt off the roof.

Salix is somewhat bundled up for winter, with a jacket and ill fitting boots. Her leafy hair is almost entirely encased on a long, soft tube like article of clothing that sits on her head like a toque on one end and has a few of the viney branches poking out the other end.

She pushes herself up, looking slightly dazed.

[Morty]

[Cabins]

"Salix!" Tuskfang squeaks, concern forgotten. "I foun' you!"

Reelshka glances up at the roof, now that she's seen that the dryad is fine. Looks like it'll need fixing. Roofs were never her strong suit, but she's learned a lot.

[Gullara]

[Cabins]

Salix giggles and does a poor job of brushing all the snow off of her. "Yeah, you're good at finding people." She praises. It's that nose of his. Always sends him in the right direction.

[Morty]

[Cabins]

Tuskfang tries to hug Salix with as much gusto as his tiny frame allows. His tail wags excitedly, but then he remembers why he was looking for her in the first place.

"Salix, could you have dryadeer babies?"

That certainly came out of left field. Reelshka is still looking at the roof, so no clarification is forthcoming from her quite yet.

"Well that's s..." he starts as he alreay assumed a no. "Wait! What? You are?" He is totally shocked. If he still got his sandwitch he would drop it on the floor.
"Do you know who summoned you?"

Anchor sits down on the edge of the bed and nods.

"Um, yes. But she just wanted to see if she could, and then forgot about me. There's no connection between us anymore."
"You're a summoner yourself, then? Or just have an interest?"

[Gullara]

...Huh? Salix sorts out what Tuskfang said, but she still doesn't get it! "What's a dryadeer?" That would be the main thing that's confusing her.

[Morty]

[Cabins]

"A dryadeer's a dryad an' a deer! Like I'm a goblin an' a wolfen!" Tuskfang explains. This might not be as helpful as Salix hoped it would be. Reelshka doesn't seem to be listening, either. She seems to have produced a notepad and a pencil from somewhere, and is making notes.

[Zefir]

Anchor sits down on the edge of the bed and nods.

"Um, yes. But she just wanted to see if she could, and then forgot about me. There's no connection between us anymore."
"You're a summoner yourself, then? Or just have an interest?"

"Doohhhhh" the man replies sad as he hears of no connection.
"Yeah, I'm a summoner. I think that is a rare ability here, but with people having abilities from summons it's not really a suprise."

[Recaiden]

"So all the supernatural powers where you're from come from extraplanar beings you call? I mean, if I understood you right. Did you want to be able to summon something like me?"
Anchor asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Or were you hoping to find someone else with your ability? I don't think it was quite the same."
