[3.5] Monster Build Advice
Hey all,
Looking for thoughts and input on a "monster build" - I'm making a "static" villain who lives at the heart of his dungeon (and is master of the dungeon). Here's the stub I have so far:
Gravetouched Ghoul Mimic Aberration 7/Tomb Warden 3/Dungeon Lord 5
CR 4 + 1 + 8 = 13
Str 24 Dex 20 Con -- Int 15 Wis 16 Cha 18
1 Fiendish Heritage
3 Toughness
6 Fiendish Presence
9 Fiendish Legacy
12 Improved Toughness
15 Ability Focus Paralysis
B Leadership
Thoughts?

Re: [3.5] Monster Build Advice
I think LoM has an Improved Paralysis feat which is much better than Ability Focus. Maybe something like Contagious Paralysis as well?

Re: [3.5] Monster Build Advice
Improved paralysis is stronger but it requires ability focus.
It's funny, Dungeon Lord and Tomb Warden are exactly the things I would recommend for this concept, so you've hit the nail right on the head there. Definitely a together build with some curveballs to throw the party.
I'm not sure that the Fiendish Heritage line is pulling its weight. Could you explain its role here a little more?
If you want to play up the leadership aspect you might toss in a bit of White Raven. I think this build could do with some flight, though. at CR 13 a party is likely to have some flying, so a monster that can either fly up to meet them or prevent them from getting off the ground will do much better than one that can't. Will the monster have gear, or would something like this need to come from feats and classes?Kolyarut Avatar by Potatocubed.

Re: [3.5] Monster Build Advice
I approve of the Fiendish line :)
For an NPC I wouldn't worry much about the Leadership feat. It can just be the leader because it's the scariest
I'd replace it with Improved Paralysis and waive the requirements. The beatings will continue until morale improves!
