Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
I shall close recruitment when the clock strikes Saturday morning-ish, EST. Role PMs should be out by lunch-time Sunday, assuming I don't have to change things too much.

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
Oh no! Mayor Jim has been mauled by Werewolves! In loving memory of his highly inappropriate obsession with lynch mobs and murder, we will now commence lynching everybody until we find all the Werewolves.
Day One begins now! It should last ~48ish hours!

I've never actually done a Day 1 RNG vote before, so here goes!
[roll]1d23[/roll]
No idea why that didn't work. I didn't preview or anything. Roll was posted here.

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
The rolling function doesn't work in this part of the forum for no explicable reason. (Seriously I asked one of the mods for this section and they didn't know why rolls don't work here or why posts here don't count for post count.)

Apparently flatfooted isn't a werewolf hunter, that means he must be a wolf!

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
The reason posts from here don't count for post count is that this used to be (and still is, in my pixie opinion) SillyMessage Board Games. Because people post many multiple times here, including the ability to ignore the Three Post Rule (though we do ask that this not be done in the actual Silly Message Board Games, like What are you listening to? XIII, and others...), they don't want these posts counting toward your total, as people tend to post more during games, than during actual discussions.
As for the roller not working here, I have a suspicion it has something to do with the posts here not being counted, so therefore the system doesn't 'watch' what is happening in this subforum. But that is just a guess.

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
Couple problems I have with this explanation: a rather minor one is that "the ability to ignore the Three Post Rule" seems meaningless to me, because literally the only place in the playground that it ever even gets mentioned, much less cared about, is in Silly Message Board Games. Nobody cares if it's done in recruitment threads, 3.5 subforum, webcomic discussion...it only matters in the forum where games take place where one person posting a lot of the time would ruin the point of the game. There's rules against double-posting, but that's hardly the same thing.
Still, that's a minor problem with this explanation. My bigger issue with this explanation (ie "it is the way it is so that people don't just arbitrarily boost their post count") seems silly to me, not only because I don't see why posts in this sub-forum are any less valuable than those elsewhere, but...doesn't post count not matter? I was under the impression - really, given the impression, I should say - that post count didn't matter, so why do some posts not count for it. If the posts really don't matter, why say some of them don't count?
Not a serious complaint, just a minor annoyance. Regardless of official post-count, lots of the people that post all the time in Silly Message Board games do more to brighten my day with their humor and out-of-the-box thinking than anybody else on the forum, so they count in my book.

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
Not a terrible argument, to be sure, but then I don't get to save my self-vote for when I'm up for the lynch, so I can throw a tantrum about nobody trusting me.
I guess I should probably switch it up from game to game, though, don't want my list of standard suspects to fall to just one person...and that means I can jump on Fleeing Coward's growing bandwagon!

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
The Lorde of Discford, better known as just Disc Lorde, exits his town house after resting from travelling. He soon notices the commotion. "Well I say, Mayor Jim is dead? Oh, and those are some nasty claw marks. I say we catch and hang that flatfooted fellow. That OrbitalPanic's reasoning seems sound."
"So you're saying you suspect fowl play?"

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
I'm not sure how much I can say without running afoul of the "no external baggage" rule, so I'll just say that a mod saying "post count doesn't matter" and everyone agreeing "post count doesn't matter" are two different things, and only the one of those the mods couldn't directly control had anything to say about whether people deliberately posted a lot of short, content-light posts here in order to up their post counts.
flatfooted, for no particular reason except that he voted for me.Last edited by Kish; 2016-12-20 at 12:40 AM.

Re: A Perfectly Normal Werewolf Game
I'd usually be voting Fleeing Coward at this point (I'll never forget the duck hunt) but I'd like to think I can do better than just some petty vote.
Pelicans aren't ducks.
