Is there anyway to put more powerful spells into it?

I dont think there is (and for good reason), but you could probably homebrew something such as:

Greater Spell Storing
Price +3 bonus; Aura strong Destruction and varies; CL 15th; Weight —
A greater spell storing weapon functions like a spell storing weapon except that it allows a caster to store a single targeted sphere effect that costs 1 spell point or less, or a spell of up to 6th level, in the weapon itself. (The spell or sphere effect must have a casting time of 1 standard action.)

Superior Spell Storing
Price +5 bonus; Aura overwhelming Destruction and varies; CL 18th; Weight —
A superior spell storing weapon functions like a spell storing weapon except that it allows a caster to store a single targeted sphere effect that costs 2 spell point or less, or a spell of up to 9th level, in the weapon itself. (The spell or sphere effect must have a casting time of 1 standard action.)

Just a head's up, use the above items at your own risk. In the player's hands such items have the potential to wreck campaigns.
