Default Dango and mochi, to cook or not to cook?

So I found some fruit "mochi" sqaures(no filling) and plain (rice flour, potato starch, and maybe a little sugar, and no filling) "dango" in a local Asian grocer... Do I need to cook either? Or should they be eaten cold/at room temperature?

    well are they sold cooked?

if they're sold raw, you should steam them.

I have no idea. They were on the baked goods shelf. They're squishy, slightly sweet, and in the case of the mochi squares, fruity(kinda like Botan Rice Candy, if you've had it).
The entire description is nutrition information, ingredients and the words "rainbow dango" or "fruit mini mochi".
And the brand name, I think; "Fugetsu-Do".

Looking up the Fugetsudo brand, it looks like they only sell the sweet dessert mochi, so chow down. These shouldn't be cooked and are best eaten slightly chilled.

There is a savoury mochi that needs cooking beforehand, but they're sold plain and have a much more solid texture. Please note that if you get these, they can be a choking hazard so eat carefully (there are regular fatalities every year in Japan as they're a traditional New Year food).

(On tablet at the moment, so can't provide links, sorry).
