Considering Roger isn't trustworthy, I'm okay with that. Though if Roger's head implodes, that'll be surprising to Parson too.

For Caesar it's probably something along the lines of "Damn it, this is gonna be every Tuesday, isn't it?"

Nice little character moment how Caesar covered for Parson saying "sorry" when Parson made same mistake on him earlier.
Yeah I did like the character moment there. I hope these two work together for quite some time. I think they'd be an entertaining team.

If they go that route, it needs to be with a "Status Revok-ed" sound effect.

If I'm still in time, I'd vote for "a series of unfortunate cliffhangers" too

I think those might be regular gems, particularly given how much Ben seems to like them. Someone suggested in the page comments that it may be a way to transfer most of the cash out of GK's treasury so the contract's penalties won't be so high if GK harms CC units. (IIRC, the penalty is half the treasury, subject to a minimum and a maximum.) The gems would be transferred back to GK as needed to keep GK from running completely out of Smuckers and having to give away a city or Parson.

I can imagine the Tool going bonkers over it until Parson accepts the gems back and starts laying waste to Charlescomm, at which point the 500K penalty in gems triggers, but they have 20 million in gems, so they can do 40 attacks in a row, and if Charlescomm retalliates, they would have to pay the full 5 million penalty.

This plan sure does require a lot of trust in a brand new ally who was trying to kill you earlier today.

I'm sure Caesar is loyal to the plan since he wants to get Bunny back, but at what point does Ben look at 20 million on the table and decide his loyalty to his side can't justify giving it back to GK?

You're forgetting how rich Charlescom is, GK has barely scratched the surface of Charlie's wealth, he can go toe to toe with them gems for schmuckers and win, and if he doesn't, he has more money's worth in gems than he has in schmuckers so he'd still win if his schmuckers ran out. Bonnie didn't know this but Ivan and Claude do, and if Tondy is decrypted, she will too. It's going to be interesting to see the fallout from that news, the MK also isn't aware yet how rich Charlie is.
The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.

Kinda makes you wonder why Charlie never just bought every single caster in the MK and won the whole game a long time ago.

I guess that wouldn't be an entertaining story.

Well, he's going against the Thinkamancers and he needs to take into account the Archons' feelings. They barely tolerate the golems.

I think Charlie doesn't want to win the game. He probably thinks the game will end when someone wins. As in "The End. Game over. Thanks for playing. See you next time. Fin." Assuming Charlie actually wants to live forever, winning the game is the last thing he wants to do.

Yay. My thread title proposition "A series of unfortunate cliffhangers" is at 5(6 if you count a vote for both it and the leading one "Cut one plot thread, two grow in its place").
