Disreputable Ruins

Our intrepid heroes (Scarecrow, Doldor, Shian, Eleanor, and Namia) have just defeated a huge horde of undead and other monsters released from their cages by the gropagas of Inglip, have just leveled up (to 8, 8, 8, 6, and 7, respectively), and are now preparing to finish off several wraiths and wights within a wrecked building whose roof Scarecrow has just partially caved in.

Shian's psicrystal heals him for for 16, tanking all 8 damage on its hardness.
It also heals someone for up to 25 damage in the minutes before its vigor power wears off, taking the 5 damage to its temp hp.
It gives 16 healing to everyone else who needs it, except Namia and Eleanor, who have already received its healing this hour.
If anyone remains injured, let me know by how much, and I'll see what I need to do to top you up to max.

Scarecrow

Thanking Shian for the healing and feeling invigorated after the short rest, Scarecrow considers how they should tackle this. Let's burn this down and draw them out. If I start from the south-west and burn my way to the north-east, they are more likely to try to flee to another house, instead of completely fleeing.

Scarecrow flies to above the south-western room, waits for the others to position themselves wherever they wish, and then, unless there is an objection, he starts to burn the roof.

"Also," she continues, "Are you sure the wight in the northwest building wasn't just playing dead, Shian? Did you spit some more acid on it to make sure?"

Eleanor goes to circle the northwest building, looking in any windows. She's not above creating some with Exogenesis and Mountain Hammer if she doesn't get a sufficient view.

Disreputable Ruins

Scarecrow waits for the others to be ready.

After another two minutes or so, Eleanor and Brutus recover from the horrible sickening stench of the ghasts.

Eleanor and Namia investigate the northwest building. They can see into the entire building through the windows, and they don't see anything within other than miscellaneous debris and the scratched-up wight body, which definitely looks dead to their eyes.

Namia enters through the window slowly, saying "Eleanor, tell me if something tries to attack me" as she looks at the ceiling just to make sure nothing is there and then preparing her hammer to attack the Wraith with unless something else occurs.

While Scarecrow waits for the party to be ready...

Under Eleanor's watchful eye, Namia climbs through the window into the wrecked building and prepares to squish the dead wight's head into goo! She swings, and --

-- the wight uses its prepared action to swing at Namia's feet! It was just pretending to have been destroyed, in the hopes that it would be left alone! (Some of its apparent damage is presumably self-inflicted; some of the rest of its damage was dealt by one of you, probably Shian.) It awkwardly tries to punch Namia, but misses --

-- and Namia completes her action, squishing the wight's head into goo! It is reduced to exactly zero hit points, and is genuinely dead this time.

For the record, I did roll Spot against this guy's Disguise for anybody who looked at him, y'all just rolled abysmally.

Eleanor gains 120 XP, Namia gains 105 XP, Doldor and Shian and Scarecrow gain 80 XP each! Eleanor levels up to 7!

Namia

Namia squashes it one more time to be sure and then sighs "Now I feel bad for it...All it wanted was to live...or...unlive? A shame it had to be so dangerous and destructive..." She moves out of the window again and shouts "We got a Wight. It was pretending to be dead!" for the others to hear and maybe check others to make sure they are not faking it either.

"Good going, Namia!" the slender girl congratulates her larger friend. "I was certain there was some sort of trick at play here!"

With the northwest building cleared, she moves south to support the assault on the southern building, targeting the wights.

Doldor

Once Brutus and Eleanor no longer feel sickened, Doldor turns to eye the building filled with wraiths and the Chain Devil. Brutus's enchantments wear off shortly afterwards, and he shrinks down to medium size; though he's still a fleshraker. "If we don't move against the wraiths swiftly, Brutus and I will not be of much use. Call Lightning and Magic Fang will both expire in a little over a minute, and I have no other way to hurt them."

The party arranges themselves at the windows, ready to burst in or prevent monsters from escaping or whatever!

Scarecrow breathes fire on the rickety building! The roof and some of the walls of the section of the building below him collapse in flames almost immediately.

New combat begins!


Three of the wraiths go immediately, floating northeast and sinking into the ground. They're (barely) visible to Shian's watchful eye as a slight shadow on the ground as they move below the surface of the grass into the building to the north-east. (They're only just visible enough to see, not visible enough to target while under the ground. They probably shouldn't be even that visible, but I don't want this encounter to be impossible for you, just annoyingly difficult.)

Disreputable Ruins

Shian spits upon a wraith he can just see within the building to the northeast, striking it with acid!

Shian's psicrystal also spits acid! But this burst of acid passes right through the insubstantial creature!

Shian then flits west!


Another wraith (#3, as I have switched to numbering them to keep track of them) sinks into the ground and flows northeast, to reëmerge within the other building!

A wight, recognizing he is cornered, heads towards the window where Brutus waits, making a single move!


Namia enters the building through the broken window, shouts for foes to attack her, and readies an attack!


Wraith #5 obliges, flowing under the ground and emerging as a shadow to Namia's east -- she swings! But her weapon, not being magical, passes right through the creature's insubstantial form. Then the wraith reaches out and touches Namia, and she feels weak! Namia takes 3 damage and 3 Constitution drain!

Wraith #1 also flows underground and emerges to Namia's west, reaching out to touch her! It strokes her face, and Namia takes 2 damage and 2 Constitution drain! By my calculations, the combination of damage and Constitution drain (the Constitution drain works out to -21 current and max hp) leaves Namia at -3 hp, so she collapses unconscious and bleeding -- but it's entirely possible I missed some healing she got in the downtime and could be wrong.


Scarecrow delays to the top of the next round!


Eleanor enters the building through the window, and, being just slightly short of enough movement to actually attack, menaces with Exogenesis the two wraiths menacing Namia('s unconscious body)!

The other wight leaves the building through the southern window!

The fire spreads!

Wraith #4, #2, and #6 (#6 is surrounded, you now notice, by barely-visible wisps that look somewhat like chains -- because only just now did I notice that a creature slain by a wraith only becomes a wraith if it's Humanoid -- I'm not going to retcon this wraith out of existence, but this is still potentially good news for Namia and Brutus) all delay!

Eleanor

The brown haired girl freezes in the window frame. Clearly she has to rescue Namia, but getting anywhere close to two wraiths who effortlessly took down the more experienced warrior seems suicidal. The plan was to take on the wights, not the wraiths! She's going to need help.

"Namia's down! I've got two Wraiths in here!" Eleanor calls out to the others as she decides what to do.

Scarecrow

Things were not going well, and Scarecrow did not know how to fix that. He needed to get the wraiths away from Namia, without killing her... He flew 20ft north east, and aims at the center of the room before reforming back to his dragonforged self and instantly breathing a cone of acid over the room, hoping that the acid is strong enough to open the roof without creating much debris do drop on his allies.

Disreputable Ruins

Scarecrow flies northeast a bit, transforms back to his regular form -- landing safely (for now) on the roof of the building -- and breathing a cone of acid on the already-unstable roof to the north! I rolled an "it works but badly" middling result of 45 on the d%, so:

The weak roof melts and dissolves for a second, then collapses all at once! The two wraiths are unharmed by the collapse, but they're now in sunlight and cannot act except to flee. Namia takes 4 damage in the collapse; Eleanor takes 1 damage as a falling 2x4 bonks her on the shoulder; Scarecrow slips and falls into the unpredictably-collapsing hole he just made, taking 6 damage (before DR, which applies) and falling prone.


Doldor and Brutus delay!


Shian flies downwards and southwest into the window, and spits acid! But the acid passes harmlessly through the target wraith.

Shian's psicrystal spits acid! But misses!

Then Shian flies north a bit!


Wraith #3 delays!

The wight within the building, his readied attack from last round unused, moves into the window and swings at Brutus! But the houndpony skillfully evades the blow!


Namia does not stabilize, and bleeds a hit point!

Brutus does violence with one hoof to the wight to his south, and misses with his other hoof! Then he shifts northeast!

Doldor, at a slightly odd angle because the wight is in the windowframe but still with great effectiveness, charges and pounces upon the wight in the window! He hits with both claws and his bite, can't hit anything with his tail (because he can only charge to the closest point that brings him within reach of the wight he's targeting, and can't reach the other wight from there, and he can't target the same target with his tail as with his bite), and does not successfully rend the wight! The wight reels, badly clawed up!


Scarecrow stands up and transforms back into an air mephling!


Shian lands on Namia, heals her for 13 -- which brings her back to stable, conscious, 6 hp, and... um, rides Eleanor and readies an action to move further once she's conveyed him closer (because 50' move speed won't get within 30' of either wight).

Shian's psicrystal readies an action to take a potshot at a wight when within range!


The wight in the window flails away at Doldor, but completely misses!


Namia is conscious now, but delays! (I just realized she dropped her weapon inside the building, but we'll say Eleanor, despite not strictly having enough movement to do so, picked it up when she picked up Namia, and so we'll just go with Namia is holding her weapon again now.)


Wraith #5 sinks into the ground and flows into the northeastern building!

Wraith #1 charges Scarecrow (which it can do because it is unaffected by the difficult terrain), skirting the sunlight! It touches him, and Scarecrow takes 2 damage but resists the constitution drain!


Eleanor carries Namia and Shian east and south!


Shian flits further south, and his psicrystal spits at a wight! It hits the wight in the window, which topples backwards, in a dissolving heap!


The remaining wight... turns tail and runs away to the southeast!


The fire, stirred up by an extra-zephyrous gust of mountaintop wind, expands at double speed! Bits of roof collapse into the fire, and the whole building is really getting rickety and prone to total collapse at any moment. (I haven't forgotten that it's, like, lightly drizzle-raining. This fire is more powerful than light rain.)
