Re: [PTU] Torrin Region: Island Hearts And Empty Wallets (IC)
Hector silently watches the entire exchange, sitting somewhere between confused and concerned for his own well being. Was everyone here crazy? He'd have to have words with his boss afterwards if things like this continued, even if they were just about expectations in the workplace.
...right, the keys. Hector sighs as he starts up the vehicle. It was things like this that gave trainers a bad name in his book. Always quick to pick a fight because their pet was tough. Nobody talked things out, it was an instant pissing match.
"If you're all done out there, we do have a reason that we came, and it isn't picking fights at the airport departure," he calls out the window.Awesome avatar by Cuthalion

Vanessa began to question her choice of vehicle. This was the opposite of their job of making a good impression. Still, she is thankful someone else seemed to agree with her. "I agree, this is hardly how you should be acting on the job. This isn't a vacation, you know."

The little girl smiles broadly at Trab, glad that at least one adult could properly pronounce her drinks name, and got him one free of charge, as well as passing him a bright colorful medical plaster with a cartoon Squirtle on it for his injury. Rankin passes Trab a card and tells him to give him a call when he has more free time if he wants to have a tour of some of the island drinking spots.
Once everyone was either in Rebecca's or Hector's car, they drive off, with anyone riding along with Rebecca deafened by some Unovan gangsta rap she blared out her stereo so loud the other car could hear it clearly despite the distance and the sounds or the engines.
After a few minutes driving, the cars pull up to a little turn in along the side of the road. It lead to a small car park at the bottom of a set of stair with some metal hand-rails leading up the mountain into the forest.
'Up here lies on of the three shrines on the island chain, although only the south shrine is ever really visited, so thankfully they've kept the missing orb under wraps. Dunno if any of you have ever had any experience looking for clues, but feel free to have a little look around. The guy from the international police is up there too, interviewing the monk who keeps an eye on this particular shrine. But as you've heard, he has no authority in these waters, so really he can''t investigate it officially, hence why we have our own little 'private investigators'. I want you guys to find it, then we can pass it along to the League ambassador and let them claim all the credit. And in exchange, they ignore all the stuff with that Masterball thing and lift the sanctions.' She spits on the ground, a sour look on her face. 'We do all the hard work and none of the glory so the shareholders can make backroom deals with the Arceus-damned League. Still, not our job to question. Our job, or more accurately your job, is to find the damn thing. After you've had a little look around, feel free to head over to the place where you'll be staying. I had my little sister air out a nice little guest house on the western island for you guys since I doubt very much you'd want to bunk in the Terramax HQ building.'
At the base of the stairs was a small sign welcoming visitors to the shrine, along with a warning not to leave the stairs and wander off into the forest for fear of wild pokemon. There were only 2 other vehicles in the parking lot besides the pair you arrived in. A small red hatchback and a green van with a golden Magikarp printed on the side, some sort of logo."The advantage of fighting your clone is you know EXACTLY what will make him feel guilty. That's also how Catholicism beats up so many ninjas." - Christopher Hastings, Dr McNinja

Re: [PTU] Torrin Region: Island Hearts And Empty Wallets (IC)
Joe hops out of the back of Rebecca's car, having lounged in the back of the truck pretty much alone until then. Looking around the area, he nods before calling out Levi.
"Yeah, c'mon Levi. Let's go take a look around. Maybe we can spot some strange tracks and trail'em."
His arbok nods, tasting the air as he gazes about carefully, both looking for some sign of a person leaving in a hurry or the like as they head up to the shrine.

(4d6)[12]-survival if we spot anything of note to track it.
