Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I feel about MLP almost exactly the same way that 8BitNinja does. I'm very much a live-and-let-live person when it comes to liking different things, but when people start changing pronouns to things like "anypony" instead of "anybody," I tend to just quietly exit the conversation. And then lock the door behind me.
How do you know? Have you seen them all?
Anyway, DBZ is one of my least favorites. I used to think it was representative of anime as a whole, and as a result I avoided the entire medium for something like 10 years.Last edited by Velaryon; 2017-04-11 at 10:51 AM.

I've only liked one or two of the flatmates from the many I've had in the past 5 years...

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I don't think this is uncommon. Since the friends I first let this house with moved out, I've had about eight or nine new housemates and I've struggled to get on with almost any of them. Even when my friends lived here they still irritated me much of the time, but the pre-existing relationship proved solid enough that we're still friends afterwards - even if in at least one case we wouldn't share a house again.
Living with other people is stressful, especially as you get older and come to expect to have more control over your space. (Also, as I've got older, I have found myself less inclined to want to meet and socialise with new people for the sake of it). Living in close proximity to someone exposes their character flaws and annoying habits in a way which otherwise isn't necessarily the case, which can make people harder to like. And you can't get away from them, which also makes them much more difficult to avoid and consequently they feel like more of a problem than they otherwise would. It can quickly become self-perpetuating, a vicious circle which "ends" with you wanting nothing to do with them.
And that's assuming that all is fine and dandy financially. If you have all of the above and they're also leeching off you, that makes everything even worse.GITP Blood Bowl Manager Cup

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
That is very likely to be physically impossibile. As in, the combined run time of every anime that existed up until this point would probably exceed your current lifespan.
Still, I find the thought of you staying awake every night watching anime and hating every second of it just to prove a point to be fairly entrataining.Last edited by Kalmageddon; 2017-04-12 at 07:11 AM.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Here's a wacky confession: If someone takes me out for food and says "Get whatever you want," I usually end up getting something a few dollars more expensive than everyone else, even when I'm trying not to.
As amusing as it is to picture someone sitting up all night with dozens of anime playing all at once, this is getting really far-fetched. To watch every single anime out there, start to finish, you would have to have a ton of them playing at once, nonstop, for what I assume is at least several months, if not a few years. Even if you were "immune" to sleep, food, drink, exercise, and hygiene would still take up at least a small chunk of time that would otherwise go to watching anime.I do not think the way you think. If you try to apply your own mindset to the things I say, there will be miscommunications. If something I say seems odd to you or feels like it's missing steps, ask for clarification. I'm not some unreasonable, unknowable entity beyond your mortal comprehension, I'm just autistic and have memory problems.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Now it's getting stretched past the point of believability. Fast-forwarding would eliminate all the sound, and even if it didn't, it would at least speed it up and probably change the pitch. Additionally, there are hundreds, thousands even, of anime with no non-Japanese dubs or subtitles. Even assuming you can speak fluent Japanese, it's a huge stretch that you could listen to multiple shows, sped-up, in a foreign language, without losing any details of the plot. I'm not saying it's outright impossible, but it would require an incredibly unlikely level of focus, as well as the free time and isolation to not have anything resembling a social life outside of watching multiple full series at once, all day, every day, for years. Another thing that stretches this is that there are new shows coming out constantly, making it actually impossible to have seen them in their entirety, since they're still airing and not finished.

If something I say seems odd to you or feels like it's missing steps, ask for clarification. New confession: People making wild claims and then clinging to them with all their might both confounds and amuses me to no end.

That's not a habit, that's just prejudice. But don't look at it like you are a horrible person, everyone has prejudices and some are good. If you weren't prejudiced at all, you would eat every plant you found in the wilderness.
However, you shouldn't make them about people.Last edited by 8BitNinja; 2017-04-12 at 07:55 PM.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
"Prejudice", noun. Pre+judice, pre-judgement. It literally just means an opinion formed ahead of time. They can actually be positive or negative, and almost all of the prejudices people hold are rational. For example, a rational negative prejudice would be having a negative opinion about a country singer before hearing them, because you don't like country music. A rational positive would be havig a positive view of a moscato without drinking it, because you like the taste of moscato. Those are prejudices, you pre-judged the artist and the wine, but you had reason based on past experience and that experience is actually applicable.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Yes, that is normally how most people use it, because most people are idiots. It's similar to how most people (read: idiots) use "paedophile" to mean "paedorast", or how a person even more stupid than normal (and ain't that an achievement?) might call a rectangle a square. Yes, bigotry is a form of prejudice, but that's a tiny fraction of prejudices. Prejudice is a basic function of the human brain required to survive daily life. It is the basic mechanism of sapience, it is basic pattern recognition. Without prejudice, you couldn't assess new people and situations based on past ones AT ALL, because any assessment of something based on past experience is prejudice.
You couldn't, for example, say "Well, a rotten hot dog gave me food poisoning. So maybe eating this rotten pork chop would also five me food poisoning, and I shouldn't eat it.", you'd be stuck with "Well, I haven't eaten this rotten pork chop yet, so let's see what happens when I eat it. ...Oh, I feel sick... Okay, I'll make sure to never eat THAT rotten pork chop again. Oh, another rotten pork chop. Well, it isn't the same one, maybe it'll be different and won't give me food poisoning!".
No wonder so many people want to eradicate it and slander it as bigotry, actually. They probably want to sell you a bridge, since without prejudice you can't realise it isn't real because the last bridge you bought also wasn't.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Yeah, definitely not uncommon. It just feels rather weird to realise it as I will be moving to my own place after these five years of... interesting or less interesting characters. I've gotten along with the majority of them, I think I only had big issues with two flatmates.
I could personally never live with a friend now that I think of it. I did it once and it was nice to live with her, but it was the worst at the same time. Don't really know how to explain it, but it felt like a strain many times since we were in the uni chorus together. I get socially drained rather quickly so it was just... taxing to see her face in and out of the house.
Thank sweet Jesus my flatmates didn't have issues with money.Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I shared a dorm room with a friend once. We're no longer friends. I don't hold any animosity towards him but man we really did not mesh well once interacting became constant and "just walk away" meant someone had to leave their living space. I'll even take most of the blame since I know I'm not really a social creature and I value my alone time. But his choice of nasty girlfriend was all on him. I'll never apologize for disliking her.
I used to live in a world of terrible beauty, and then the beauty left.

Re: Confessions 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I know information about all my characters that doesn't apply to any of the settings they are currently used in and serves zero purpose, like what kind of music they like, even who their favourite artists, albums and songs are. Is that weird? I feel like that's weird.
