Wit a more decent delay Mia makes the parry and counter attack. Things start to get heavy. Mia is not on her limits, but Wenomir wouldn't start to break a sweat like she does.

[Morty]

"Not right now," Wenomir says, as he rings the bell again. "Feel free to get settled in the village, if you want to live here. You and your sword can come here any time to train." He pauses. "Unless you know anything about moving flying islands."

[Celticbear]

Only thing I know about flying islands is that you shouldn't fall of 'em. Otherwise, no. But I am willing train right now. Kinda the reason I stopped here first. answers Xavouir.

Kitty continues to look at the action.

[Morty]

"I thought so. We dragged this thing here, and build out base, but getting it to move eludes us," Wenomir clarifies. "You can try fighting against me, if you want. As soon as I'm done with Mia's exercise."

[Celticbear]

There is a slight change in Xavouir after Wenomir talks of a fight. His posture changes, his smile fades. A voice completely separate from Xavouir's says: It would be my pleasure.

Mia will perform the parry and counter attack. Slightly slower then befor. She didn't await two times in a row.

"Wenomir, I got some plans for moving the island. I thought I did show them to you." Mia say and then continues with studies.

[Morty]

[Vigil Skybase / Training Grounds]

((I forgot about Mia's plans, Zefir. Sorry about that.))

"Yes, you did," Wenomir says. "I must have forgot, sorry. We'll discuss it later. For now, take a break. We've got a long way to go, but I think it'll help you learn if we do it regularly."

He then looks at the sword.

"Kitty, I presume? A pleasure."

"Xavouir's" hand extends outward, and the black blade flies into it. "Xavouir" then puts it down, resting it on the ground.

When you are ready, I will let you make the first blow.

Mia nods. She takes the books away and then takes a seat at the edge of the training ground to watch the fight. "You won't mind me watching?" she asks both.

[Morty]

[Vigil Skybase / Training Grounds]

"I fully expect you to watch, Mia. Pay attention to what we do as best you can," Wenomir says, before walking over and picking up a longsword. Being a sapient weapon herself, Kitty will very likely notice that it's not a normal blade; or even fully physical. It seems to be an idea, or spirit, bound in physical form. "This weapon can deal non-lethal strikes, so I don't need to hold back."

He walks forward slowly, keeping the blade low, in one hand. Then he steps to his right, gripping the hilt with both hands, and performing a cut towards Xaviour's neck from his right... but then it becomes a diagonal cut from the left, in the blink of an eye.

Kitty fully expected a strange combatant, she had fought non-euclideans before for goodness sake. She parries, but only just barely. Kitty then shimmers, becoming partly incorporeal, and goes for the knees.

[Morty]

Despite its nature, Wenomir's sword acts like a perfectly normal blade in all respects. For now, at least.

The warrior deftly jumps over the knee-height attack, landing further away from Xavouir than he was, and making a downward strike at his arms.

Like a flash, Kitty sends the black blade in a defensive position, starting a blade-lock.

[Morty]

Wenomir's eyes narrow as a contest of strength begins. For now, he simply pushes, trying to sweep Kitty aside and lower her wielder's guard. He's very strong, but within human limits - and he's testing if that's enough to overcome the sentient blade.

[Celticbear]

One thing about creatures from The Pit, aka bell, they're usually strong. While Kitty's magical nature does help in the lock, the obvious thing that's holding it is Xavouir. At least Xavouir's body.

[Morty]

[Vigil Skybase / Training Grounds]

Noticing that he won't be able to win a contest of strength, Wenomir abruptly breaks off, and back-steps away in a blur. He looks like he's going to move forward again, and strike, but he stops, and points his sword straight forward. He hopes to throw Xavouir and Kitty off-balance, and then lure them into attacking.

Kitty / Xavouir let out a chuckle, and extend a hand. Red-Blue energy flies out, set to stun not kill, and then get into a defensive stance themselves.

[Morty]

Wenomir's eyes narrow, as he moves his sword with a nonchalant flick of his wrists. The blade strikes the beam of energy and disperses it. The warrior then starts circling around Xavouir and Kitty, in a strange, uneven step. Every so often, it looks like he's about to strike, but doesn't.

As Wenomir circles Xavouir / Kitty, they point the tip of the black blade towards the seasoned fighter, ready to go into a defensive stance at a moment's notice.

[Morty]

After some circling, Wenomir presses his attack again. He closes the distance quickly, and weaves a mesmerizing pattern of cuts and thrusts around Xavouir and Kitty. Most of them aren't meant to actually strike home, but to overwhelm them and put them on a back foot. Among this storm of steel, some attacks unexpectedly go straight for whatever gap in their defence Wenomir can spot.

Some of the cuts do get through, but once Kitty / Xavouir get tired of it, they parry Wenomir's sword and head but him with all six horns, looking not to damage, but to send him away.

[Morty]

[Vigil Skybase / Training Grounds]

The strikes that connect won't cut, just like Wenomir says. The sword will instead phase through Xavouir's body, sapping strength and endurance.

Wenomir can't mount an effective defence against the headbutt, and is forced to disengage, losing his momentum. He stops a fair distance from Xavouir and Kitty, his sword's hilt kept low and tip pointing upwards.

Xavouir / Kitty once again stands in a defensive posture, he is breathing heavily.

[Morty]

"You've been fighting defensively most of the time," Wenomir remarks. "Why is that?"

[Celticbear]

You have many scars which means you can either take an incredible amount of punishment before you submit, or you are a terrible fighter. I guessed the former, and I am waiting until the perfect moment to strike. This moment has not shown itself, and I shall not rush things says Kitty without loosing the stance or her concentration during the verbal exchange.

Wenomir shrugs. He was testing the clone's reactions, but it doesn't seem like it worked. Time for his last option.

"Let's cut to the chase. I'll make you a deal. You help me prove that the explosion was staged, and I arrange for your soul to end up in a more pleasant afterlife."

"How pleasant are we talking? I'm not doing all of that if the best I get is limbo," the pilot frowns. It does sound like he's willing to negotiate, however. Hell must be pretty bad, if he's actually willing to consider this offer.

Mia just watches over the fight. After a while she prepares a vial. She got the feeling someone got wounded soon. (Still skipable)

[Morty]

"Eternal peace and comfort, heavenly bliss, that sort of thing," Wenomir says. "I'm not going to get you angelic choirs, or anything, but I can put your soul in a better place a lot of people live their lives in."

Wenomir nods.

"Close enough. I do my best to avoid being hit at all, but all the wounds I do take... they add up. Most of those are from when I wasn't the warrior I am now, though. I used to be a demon hunter, pumped full of demon blood and sent to fight them. My handlers only cared about my health because I'd be hard to replace."

Xavouir / Kitty chuckle. Just like old times, I suppose?

[Morty]

Wenomir smiles.

"Not quite like old times, fortunately. I'm no longer on the leash of fanatics who consider me barely better than the things I hunt. And I got rid of the alchemical mixture they pumped in me."
