Lock-Down Weapons
I'm looking to make a low level lock-down build, but I'm finding myself stymied by the pathfinder change to spiked chain. Is there any obscure weapon that is also a two hander with the ability to be both reach and not-reach? If not, are there any feats that mimic that ability?
If you need me somewhere, don't hesitate to PM me. I have bad mental health days sometimes, so if I vanish that's probably why. PMs will help break me out of that.

Re: Lock-Down Weapons
The Dorn Dergar from Dwarves of Golarion is a twohanded bludgeoning weapon that can lose/gain reach as a move (Swift with a feat).
The Polearm Weapon trick lets you take a -2 to treat your polearm in every way as a club. I suggest you use Fauchard, which is an exotic polarm with 2d4/18-20.Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!

Re: Lock-Down Weapons
The Fauchard is 1d10, not 2d4.
Also, if your group allows 3rd party content, the Haft Strike feat from Path of War: Expanded lets you take a -2 penalty to AC to allow you to attack with your reach weapon in both 5 and 10 feet ranges.

Meteor Hammer, but you can only switch your reach once at the start of your turn.

Re: Lock-Down Weapons
Improved Whip Mastery causes you to threaten with a whip out to your reach +5, thus letting you threaten adjacent and at a distance. Effects like Lunge or Long Arm increase this further.
