Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Spoiler: season 6 of ArcherArcher, from the eponymous show, forgot he donated sperm. Considering his narcissism, if he knew he had donated sperm, the second Lana said she was pregnant from a sperm donor, he would have assumed it was him. The simplest explanation is that he forgot. My Homebrew (Free to use, don't even bother asking. PM me if you do, though; I'd love to hear stories).

I believe "Luke Skywalkin' on these haters" means to epically troll them and then disappear forever.
This could be the real explanation for all I know; I refuse to check. My Homebrew (Free to use, don't even bother asking. PM me if you do, though; I'd love to hear stories).

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
You know how in the pokemon games techically anybody can carry up to 6 pokemon but virtually every trainer seems to only have 2-3?
The reason is that most actually are packing a 6 pokemon team, however a)some are already fainted from training and/or b)are too low level to have any shot of victory after you crushed their best pokemons so they just forfeit the match right there.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
My apologiesif some of those have been proposed before:
LotR:
Sauron doesn't like orcs: Sauron is evil because he is a control freak. Morgoth meanwhile is much more chaotic. The Orcs were created by Morgoth, possibly with Sauron's help, and as a result look more like Morgoth than Sauron. Across the Silmarillion and LotR we see attempts by Sauron to discpline the Orcs (insisting all Orcs passing by Tol-In-Gorauth report to him, giving them a unified language and identification numbers, breeding the more disciplined Uruk-Haï) who never seem too bear much fruits. In LotR every high-ranking servant of Sauron is a (former) Man (except maybe Grishnâk) anfd much of his armies are made of Men. I think that Sauron pretty much gave up on molding Orcs to his liking and once the War was over and they had served their purpose he would have had them exterminated to rule over Men himself (especially if he was aware of the "Age of Men" prophecy").
Good Orcs stop to be Orcs: Being an Orc isn't genetic, baby Orcs are born Elves but the brutality of their upbringing turn them into Orcs (Elves' physical state seem to reflect their mental state). Should they turn good they would physically change back into an Elf.
Elder Scrolls:
Godly friends: The New Sheogorath (aka the Hero of Kvatch) is friends with both Jyggalag who remembers his time as Sheogorath and how he escaped it and Akatosh who didn't erase Martin but absorbed him. It helps that Akatosh is mad and New Sheo seems saner than Old Sheo. Sheo visits them when he can (it is easier with Jyggy than with Akatosh, though).
Mankar Camoran was a Dragonborn.
1984:
Oceania is Airstrip One: Or less. There is no other nations they are having a war with. It is all lies. Oceania is just a North Korea-like state in a post-apocalyptic world that can't extand its reach but no-one is trong enough to challenge it. The prisoners Winston saw are the descendants of London's asian minorities kept locked away for occasions like this.
Just for the hell of it: This is the same universe as Mad Max.
James Bond and Arsène Lupin:
They are related: On their mothers' sides. Why not?
Doctor Who:
The Master is related to the Doctor: By marriage but not by blood (eww).
The Doctor and the Master are lifelong "friends". We know the Doctor had a wife before leaving Gallifrey and we have never been given a hint of Susan's parents. The hints about the reason(s?) for the Doctor leaving are contradictory but they point to something tragic. We also know that the Master was much more sane in early life and Missy claims to have (had?) a daughter.
I think that either the Doctor and the Master were married and had children together (yes, the First Master was male but regeneration, yo) or, alternatively (but less interestingly), their children had children together (Susan and possible siblings). Then Susan's parents died somehow and they reacted by becoming the characters we know and love.
The Doctor likes humans because of Ian: In An Unearthly Child the Doctor is as his most callous and Ian has to physically stop him from crushing the brain of an inconscious man, Za. All over his lives he becomes more friendly and compassionate (not a straight progression obviously) while the Master becomes ever more unhinged and mayhem-prone (especially if you think the War Chief was the Master) so it makes sense to believe that at the time of An Unearthly Child Doctor and Master are morally similar and had Ian not stopped the Doctor from committing murder for convienience's sake, it would have been the first step into becoming who the Master is right now. The Doctor recognizes this which is (part of) why he surronds himself with humans, they bring about the best in him.Last edited by Fyraltari; 2018-06-18 at 04:58 AM.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Definitely.
I'm still holding out for Martin as Tenth Divine like the stereotypical Oblivion-firster that I am. Sure, there's support for it, but it's still more wishful thinking than headcanon, IMO.
However, actual headcanon: I believe that the daedra have Elder Scrolls associated with them, and that that includes Malacath. Which means that the Champion of Cyrodiil stands a good chance of actually being in some sense the scribe of an Elder Scroll dagnabbit.Don't blame me. I voted for Kodos.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Oh, I forgot:
Discworld:
Vimes is a warlock: In Equal Rites we learn about the distinction between female magic (witch magic) and male magic (wizard magic) and that there isn't that of a difference. The protagonist Esk is a girl wth wizard magic. There is a short mention of "warlocks", men with witch magic but Granny Weatherwax doesn't believe they exist. In the Tiffany Aching books, we have the (dead) character of Tiffan's grandmother who Granny Weatherwax believes was a witch who never knew she was a witch because her native Chalk didn't produce much in way of witches and therefore there are almost no witches there. That is because the Chalk hasn't much rock in it (except that it actually does thanks to all the fossils).
I think Samuel Vimes is a warlock who doesn't know he is one. His personnality matches Granny'sand the other witches' a lot (unrelentless in doing his duty (to the point where he can fight mental domination), afraid of what he would do if he let himself go, cynicism that hides a good nature, snappy, proud, determined to see the world as it is no as you think it is, always want todo the right thing, etc) and it is mentionned that Ankh-Morpork is builton a plain and a muddy river so there isn't much rock to find. Except that Ankh-Morpork is built on (older) Ankh-Morpork itself, so there is plenty of rock to find: in the old houses' walls!Forum Wisdom

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Shadowrun/Earthdawn: All living creatures on planet Earth are evolved from spirits, and many from Horrors.
Background:
1. The Earthdawn sourcebook "Horrors" has a story about a great Horror that got tired of it's kin and fled them and the Horror touched lands they lived in. After having been alone in the world for a long time, it eventually evolved into something else. Something which no longer looked like a Horror, was capable of appreciating beauty, and would end up giving birth to the Dragons as well as lesser races (Notably not Elves).
2. The Shadowrun novel "Burning Bright" mentions a Beetle spirit which it is inferred has manifested for so long, that it has forgotten it is a spirit and how to go astral.
Hypothesis: Spirits that manifest for too long eventually become that which they manifest as, and their offspring will be physical creatures. Certain magical traits can be inherited, and will appear or disappear based on the mana level.-
What is dead may never die, but rises again, harder, stronger, in a later edition.

The entire MCU is a fantasy Tony Stark has about how cool it would have been to miniaturize the arc reactor, moments before he detonates a Jericho missile inside the terrorists' cave.

There are three Star Wars movies.
And all novels were written before 1999, all videogames released before 2004.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
All four Mad Max films happen on one of the worlds in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, one that's fraying and coming to pieces as the Beams are eroded. This explains why there isn't solid narrative consistency across all four stories: because along with the physical world, the universe itself is starting to fray; compare Roland's indication that it took him over 20 years to cross a thousand-mile distance.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Shaggy is a Vietnam vet. Shaggy spent time as a pow, its why he has a compulsive need to eat, why he is so jumpy. Its why he is still so skinny. Dude was starved in his imprisonment and he is still recovering. I admit its not my head cannon so much as one ive read a few interesting fanfics about but I really like the idea behind it. The timelines match up. The original series was in 69. Plenty of time to have served a tour, been captured, been released/freed in some manner, and come back to recover.
But yeah, he is clearly based off a stoner hippy stereotype or three. Probably meant as one of those things that even back then cartoons would slip in for the adults to enjoy while it goes right over the heads of the kids who just see a funny skinny dude cramming absurd meals down his throat while dressed oddly."Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum"
Translation: "Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe."

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
I've got two competing headcanons for the fate of Timothy (AKA Dopplganger Jack) in Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel.
- Timothy was hunted down, killed, and his face was used as the basis for Handsome Jack's mask. After all, it would have been a close match to his face: and in addition Timothy slowly became less enthused with his role as the game wore on. Considering how badly Jack takes even theoretical betrayal It's likely he suspected (real or imagined) betrayal and decided to get Timothy first, killing two birds with one stone. Plus it fits the pattern of the other vault-hunters in the game, who were all killed by the new Vault Hunters or screwed over by Handsome Jack by the end of Borderlands Two, with the exception of Athena.
- Timothy left Hyperion's employ (probably to Jack's consternation), and is now hiding as a bandit-leader somewhere. He mentioned that hyperion is his only ticket off Elpis, so he's stranded there: and while there's no indication he knows much about the warrior, he probably wanted to remain out of the path of Jack's next obsession anyway, hence away from pandora.
And as an unrelated headcanon: Zer0 is an artificially-created Eridan/human hybrid, like the skirmishers in X-com 2. Aside from his slightly alien features, it also lines up due to his love of melee combat, acrobatics, and fondness for featureless masks...much like the creatures in Elpis' vault.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
I've only watched Season one of Into the Badlands so far, but I like to imagine it's in the same universe as Mad Max: Fury Road.
Whilst America would have been pasted a lot worse than Australia in the wars, it would also have more resources and humans in it to recover. The Barons are the American equivalent of Immortan Joe.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
The Empire in Star Wars is terribly bureaucratic and inefficient and as result there is diffused apathy in its ranks.
Endor is the perfect example of the Empire problems: the Emperor is convinced that the shield generator is guarded by an elite legion. The truth is thanks to a bureaucratic mistake that legion was sent to the other side of the galaxy and replaced by rookies with no experience of jungle warfare. But nobody noticed or if they did they didn't care.
To add to that nodoby thought of cutting the trees around the generator. The officers on the field thought that by the time the request would have been processed the Death Star would be completed.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
When Ash´s Pikachu loses to a lvl 5 Snivy owned by a beginning trainer who´s never fought a battle before, that´s actually a Pokémon hustler who doesn´t evolve his mon on purpose as to win easy matches for money or in this case just to rub it in.
EDIT: In Jurassic Park the T. rex can see things that don't move just fine. But in the car scene it just ate a whole goat, and in the other scenes where it might look a little slow to react, like in the third movie, it's just not pouncing the second it sees humans to not scare off its prey immediately.Last edited by Lvl 2 Expert; 2018-07-31 at 12:26 PM.
