Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerThe woman who raised you was...
KARAKA!
Huh. And I thought Old Ironface was a guy...
I guess what was going to say before being so rudely interrupted by Yuri was "your mother".
Still, that was perfect.
Karaka is a woman. And she raised Wangnan. Headcanon accepted."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Spoiler: New comicThat was so typical for Bam. Saving his personal enemy.
I wonder how many Good Points that gives...
Oh, who am I kidding. This is going to end with the giant awakening.
Also, instant coffee dude was always a jerk it seems."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
The workshop's power is godlike to be able to create all this. Is there anything they can't do?
Spoiler
I find it interesting that Baam apparently doesn't have a past for the hidden floor to detect. A side effect of the god outside the tower resurrecting/creating him from his mother's baby's corpse?

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Not sure how I feel about this video game gimmick honestly. I guess it's a decent way to give everyone an enemy they can actually participate against considering how out of whack the power levels are of the different teammates.
I'm way more interested to see what form everyone else's rival takes than Baam's clone fight.
Also, logically Baam should be Rachel's rival as well. We could have 3 of them running around by the end of this arc.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
So there's another new chapter and it doesn't strictly change anyone, but it does maybe hint at something:
A lot of fictional people are going to be really disappointed.Spoiler: New chapter spoilerIn the quarantined zone, they meet another character who asks if Bam is the hero that will save them. Concurrently, Koon and company reach the starter town and are hailed as the heroes who will go in and destroy the evil in the "fruit of good and evil," AKA the quarantine zone. The game has decided Bam is part of the bad guys and Koon will be the hero.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
The latest.
It's looking increasingly safe to say that for all his talk about making the tower a place where everyone can be happy, Zahard was an egotistic monster from the beginning.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Not that surprising. Villains like that always use that argument to justify themselves.
Even when they know it a lie. Especially then.
Oh well, with any luck our heroes get to kill data-Zahard.
Would be fitting considering the role he and his „Big Breeders” (I really don't want to know why they're called that...)
would fill if this were a MegaTen game.
On the other hand that would make the stuttering guy the Lucifer stand-in (He admitted as much in his backstory...), so yay Chaos Ending?
Or they take my preferred approach: Kill everyone and forge your own path.
Also, Instant Coffee Guy makes Endorsi look like a boy."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
I get the impression the God of Guardians still thinks he was once serious about it.
I wonder how much control the Big Breeders have over this area. They clearly aren't above playing dirty and empowered the boss beyond its normal strength, but that still increased the score they got from beating it.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
The latest.
Spoiler
Koon's suspicions mistook the real trap, but the Big Breeder's attempt to go easy on him backfired regardless. If Jahad and his minions have no qualms about cheating, then they really should have made it flat out impossible instead of just really difficult.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerMy hunch is that Koon is hiding his real reason for not attacking. He immediately wonders if the bird is stronger than it looks before saying he has a suspicious feeling. So when he advertises that his suspicious feeling is that the bird is stronger than it looks, I think it's for Big Breeder's benefit.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerThis wouldn't be the first time Koon's reacted this way. He had a similar problem with Yu Han's test, only this time, it really is the right decision.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerWhile that is true, Khun comments on the Big Breeder right off the bat - "he's hiding something" and "I don't like his expression". His suspicion is reinforced by the unexpectedly lame monster,
especially hot on the heels of a super encounter. His worry about the monster is fake I think; the Big Breeder is trying to push him to clear the stage ASAP, and he is either stalling for time or doing anything but play into the hand of the guy. There is no such thing as "innocence", only degrees of guilt.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
I think in this particular case a cigar is just a cigar. Koon is correct that it's a trap, but he's wrong about the reasons. It's actually good to see him be fallible. Too many of these "schemer" type characters fall into the unbelievably competent Mary Sue trap.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Well to be fair to Khun, „the Fruit is actually a prison and my friends are trapped inside” is a bit of a leap.
Also, rancher-dude can only blame himself. He basically telegraphed that this is a trap.
Vut the weirdest part is that young instant coffee guy is nice.
I guess dying repeatedly will do that to people.
Either that or that was clever manipulation on his part."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Spoiler
Such a powerful and awkward teamup.
Think that sworn enemy belongs to Ja Wangnan, Karaka, or one of the princesses?

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerWe saw this guy last update, prior to any instance of Khun making trouble that I can find. Also, the tooth jewelry is probably a Jahad marker, and Khun doesn't seem to have a particular beef with the Jahad line. At the same time, I don't think this is Wangnan's sworn enemy--he's too high up in the Tower hierarchy, and there's not a clear reason for him to be connected to Wangnan or his 'nanny'. Karaka and Endorsi seem like the likeliest bets, and between them I'd go with Endorsi, whose backstory was heavily focused on proving herself a noble talent worthy of the title 'princess'.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
SpoilerI love how desperate Rak is to kill that chicken.
I guess he's hungry.
So, I guess next our heroes will have to fight two Sworn Enemies and whatever's lurking in that egg.
Speaking of Sworn Enemies, who else expects they will form a party sooner or later?"If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Well, I was wrong about Koon being fallible. I should have known.
If this big breeder guy has the power to manipulate the world to this extent, I don't understand why he doesn't just kill his enemies.

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Boredom?
He underestimated them?
Or there are some rules he's bound by.
The semblance of playing by the rules at least.
That he's dealing with PCs could limit his options too.
I mean, from what we know the NPCs basically can get rewritten as needed.
And then there's this prison-apple. While the NPC inmates could mostly be there for sadism there's no excuse for putting Bam and Endorsi in there instead of killing them instantly.
So, I would say the great Farmer can do many things, but not everything.
They are basically a DM without the ability to Rocks fall the players.
Not enough at least."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
That's kind of the point. Dukat isn't very good at it either - somebody like that doesn't want to just kill his opponents. He wants to BEAT them and glory over them. And yes, doing that instead of just killing them and being done with it is dumb and often leads to your defeat, but hey, there's a trope for that

Re: Tower of God: Turtles Everywhere
Although to play a little devil's advocate, we don't actually know WHAT is past the 134th floor or a concrete reason why Zahard went to such lengths to seal it off. There could be an objectively good reason why he stopped climbing, sealed the door, and sat there ruling his little kingdom (i.e. if somebody actually reached the top then the Tower would disintegrate or something).
